less than a year for battery

The battery may last long after charging but after a less than a year its dead, sound was above average though.

Great sound and bass, REALLY annoying wire

I got these from Best Buy at an excellent price during a sale several months back so I've had time to really get used to these headphones and form an honest opinion. To make a long story short, these earbuds perform in all areas except the one I feared they'd get wrong right from the start; COMFORT. This is all due to the wire, which frankly is STUPID, given that this is supposed to be a wireless product and the manufacturer should be making as much effort as possible to make that wire as discreet as possible. This wire however is sheathed in a hard, semi-flexible plastic that does not fully relax, even after weeks and months of use, so it does not fall evenly behind the head. Inexplicably, the cable favours the left side, bunching up and constantly pulling the right earbud out of position. It's also far too long, catching on shirt and jacket collars. The earbud inner-ear "hooks" are OK but they can't fully compensate for the lopsided drag the wire creates. So many modern Bluetooth headsets have gotten this right in various ways so it is really surprising to have a veteran like Sony still get this wrong. A great headset ruined by a scrappy wire and poor ergonomics.

Sony XB50 Headphones

Really nice sound quality with high bass (if you're into that kind of sound). Comfortable fit once you get the right pieces in place (4 different ear pieces and 3 different anchors). The only downside if the bluetooth sometimes goes when my hand is in the way of the phone. For their price though I would definitely recommend them!

Horrible headphones

I bought these in January, and yesterday the headphone buttons just crumbled away from the headphone. Now I have no way of controlling the volume on the headphone. The battery indicator also doesn't work properly on the iphone. It will go from 70% battery to 20%. There doesn't seem to be any other numbers in between to indicate battery life... Terrible product.

Dissapointment

I love Sony products, I've bought the PS2, PS3, PS4, and Sony Bravia TV and they all work well. These headphones are poorly made. While I was exercising the back wire got caught on a machine and instead of the earphone coming off my ear the entire bud completely detached from the earphone. Sony won't replace them even though it happened a mere 2 days after they were bought. Disappointed to say the least.

I Love These

These headphones sound great, in my opinion. They are not overly big, and come with many earpiece sizes. The extra bass sound in this model is perfect. If you're looking for specialized audio equipment and are fussy about little things, you probably wouldn't buy these. My music sounds great on these while I work out. I get 4 full 2-hour workouts in with these before a recharge.

Great sound but no staying power

I listen to classical music and the sound produced by these earphones is great, but I have great difficult in keeping them in my ears. They come with small, medium and large ear buds and with small, medium and large in-ear rubber hooks. I have tried every single combination and they still keep falling off. Another problem is the wire that connects both earphones: it snags and rubs easily on your clothing and makes an unpleasant reverberating noise. Great earphones for the price if you can keep them on.

OK

The ear buds don't stay in very well. I tried out the different sizes and some too small and others too large. I opted for the smaller ones because it is the only way they stay in my ears, but they are not comfortable. The wire needs a clip so it does not interfere with ones workout. Good thing is the base is amazing and the noise cancelling is great, allows for a great workout without distractions.

Evolutionary improvements, still not quite there yet...

I've always liked Sony audio products, and I bought this set even though I already have a previous iteration of the product (MDR-AS600BT) that I got earlier this year. The MDRXB50BS/B's feature EXTRA BASS technology, which I always wished for in the MDR-AS600BT set. Now songs with heavy bass sound almost like they would with EXTRA BASS technology wired ear-buds. There is a bit of muddiness to the quality, and that is why I give them 4 stars. Also, they prefer line-of-sight connectivity; they'll cut out occasionally if under a coat or in a pocket. Otherwise, they perform just like the MDR-AS600BT set. I must stress that I tend to use Sony headphone / earbuds with Sony portable audio products (in this case the Xperia C5 Ultra phone), as I believe the pairings compliment each other. The fit of the MDRXB50BS/B's in my ears is pretty good, with almost an 90 % decrease in the ambient noise. For my ears, the large ear-buds with the medium arc supporters makes for the best fit. I do tend to use them in a casual capacity, so I can't comment on their fit in active use. If they're anything like my previous set, I expect to have to recharge them every 2 to 3 days, which I suspect is like pretty well every battery powered product out there nowadays. Overall, a good product, with improved performance (IMO) because of the XTRA-BASS feature. Kudos to Best Buy for the price-matching policy when I found the product for a few dollars less somewhere else; the policy was honoured and I received the difference.

Like your in a school dance with lots of bass

These earbuds are pretty amazing the sound is awesome and as soon as you put them on you can still hear a little bit of talking and stuff but as soon as you put the music on oh my god you hear nothing but music I think these are some pretty good earbuds they last about 8.5 hours pretty much 9 hours the charging cord in really short and when I got them or when I found them they said no carry pouch I recommend you get a small one and their is a rubber thing that's goes into you ear and helps the earbuds stay in your ear the buttons are stupid on the side though and comes with different size earbuds and hooks
