Xbox can't design cords apparently

In order to keep using my favourite headset, I have been forced to purchase this piece of garbage several times. The cord that is required to use game chat breaks every 3 months and it is impossible to buy the official cord separately, also if you simply get a 2.5 female to 3.5 male cord unaffiliated with Xbox it does not work for game chat. This forces you to buy this package over and over and over again, even if you get the coverage on this item it takes so long to do that it is simply not even worth it. Save yourself the time and hassle and buy an Xbox One controller adapter that does not need an extra cord, I've heard from a few friends that the Turtle beach one doesn't break so I will be exploring that. If you need an adapter to use your mic DO NOT BUY THIS ONE. Look at one made by a headset company.

It's Alright.

Yeah I know, Microsoft is ripping us off, that's obvious. I don't agree with it either, but we're enabling it, right? So just to review the actual function and quality of this device: it's alright. When I first stuck it in, it wouldn't work. Then, after pulling it, shoving it back in, trying to update anything that allowed me to, restarting the xbox with it in/out/off/on/damn it/etc, it finally worked. After that, it worked for a week. Then the other day it didn't work. I banged it. And it worked again. I think I need to exchange this one, may be faulty. :) I feel like this item is expensive and cheap in quality, but is an essential tool to prevent your husband from back-seating-driving your gaming.

It Works - Some Flaws

Please understand that this is Microsoft. Like Apple, most of their X-Box products are overpriced. This just like in many other case (Controllers etc.) *Pros:* It worked as soon as it was out of the box Options on it are handy and understandable *Cons:* Way to over priced Cheap plastic matterial, extremly easy to break if not careful That essentially it for this review, if this is what you're hinging on to buy a certain console like the Xbox or Playstation it's really not that big of a deal. Would I recommend - Yes because it's the only option for a headset 'ATM'

Just what I was looking for

Great headset. Works perfectly with my turtle beach headset I purchased for my 360 before switching to the xbox1

Works as advertised

When I purchased my Xbox One this month, I didn't realize that my (price) Turtle Beach X32s were not compatible. Turtle Beach does sell an adapter kit, but it runs close to (price). Word of caution, this adapter allows you to connect the mic, but it does not provide sound to headset such at the X32s. For this, you will need to buy a Digital Audio to RCA adapter. Again, these are pricy, but you can find cheap ones online . I plugged in both the mic adapter to the controller as well and connected the Digital Audio adapter to my Xbox and headset, and everything works flawlessly. Much better than dropping another (price) on new headphones. Price of this adapter is too high though. Xbox should have shipped with these.

Great product

A great improvement over the headset options on the Xbox 360 - My Beats worked flawlessly

Xbox Adapter

It's not a bad product once you have your own headset. Makes it allot easier instead of getting a new xbox one mic

Works but should not have been necessary

Works for my Astro A40's but shouldn't have been necessary. An unfortunate Microsoft money grab.

Really great

The Adapter is great! kind of diffacult to figure out at first for setup, I recommend getting a DSS if you want a easier way of setup, Only problem is when using on xbox one controller you often have to update your controller in settings to get people to hear you on chat properly, I greatly recommend this if you want to use an Xbox 360 stereo headset/Mic on xbox one as its pretty much the only way for chat to work on XB1 unless you have the extra money available to purchase a xbox one Headset instead of like I did with a xbox 360 version, Not sure if the XB1 headsets need the adaptor, I've heard on and off reports and never tried the XB1 stereo headsets but still this adaptor works great if you want to use (TurtleBeach or etc) if you already have a reliable headset that you don't want to replace.

simple setup to do the firmware update and I was back to using my turtle beach headset without any problems.

It went very well with my turtle beach wired headset able to chat in game now. It comes with a same cable to plug ur head set Cable into then it plugs into the adapter. With wireless u would need to buy a cable for ur headset which that can be the down side of it
