Lid breaks in the first few uses

Water is great, but the lid hinges are so flimsy, it looks like its engineers went out of their way to make it as flimsy as possible. Our cover's hinges broke on the 2nd day of use and we are gentle with our things.

Great filtering, too bad the top is so flimsy...

We first got a Brita pitcher. We didn't like the water's taste, looked into what could be better, found this. Indeed, this makes the water taste a LOT cleaner, even though our tap water is only about 75 on the TDS. After the Brita, about 50 TDS. After zerowater, well, zero. And the taste does tell that story as well. So why just 3 stars? Well, the lid broke within the first 2 days of use. It is held in place by two of the tiniest, flimsiest plastic hinges you could ever imagine. So OF COURSE it breaks extremely easily. To add to that, when it's broken, the lid doesn't fit unless you "re-assemble" the broken hinges. This means that while you are filling the reservoir, you have to hold the lid, the fridge door, and the pitcher with which you are pouring water into the reservoir top. And then, while still holding the fridge door, put the pitcher somewhere, and then re-assemble the lid hinges so it will fit. WHEW. So while the water quality is great, the system as a whole leaves a heck of a lot to be desired. On top of that, they could have used multiple hinges on the cover, maybe 8 of them, for a much sturdier lid assembly. Or stronger, larger parts. But no. Oh yeah, I haven't found a replacement lid offered anywhere for sale. So if you get this thing, you'll probably break it, and when you do, IT'LL STAY BROKEN. Overall rating: MEH.

Great product.

My first zerowater filter fell down and broke. So I bought this second one It is as good as the first one. Best quality filtered water . I would recommend to everyone. Great product with great service. I love it.

Follow up

Don't waste your money used it for one month, the water tasted horrible after only a few weeks like a sweet taste, that I have researched and found lots of other reviews with the same issue, the filters cost a fortune, and to work for a couple weeks it is not for us, kept the jug and fill it with our Brita which is much more cost effective, I know Brita is coming out with some new products better filters etc, so will just stick with them. I had replaced the filter on the zero water and the same issue"

Second purchase

Have used our first large ZeroWater dispenser for about 3 years, the plastic on the spring inside the depressor button broke. We figured it was easier to just buy a new one and keep the old one for parts should anything crack or break. Absolutely love this filter, better quality water than other filters. It can be slow to fill since it filters water to a higher degree, but not too bad with this larger sized unit. Typically it takes about ten minutes to fill (fill once then wait ten minutes, fill upper section second time and put back in fridge). Filters usually last about 2 months for our household of 2.

Nice Large System

this is a replacement to a Mavea jug water filter system , that i feel was doing nothing, when i tested the water it was through the roof, our city water which is very hard was high, and the BRITA mid way, not exactly sure how to use the meter will need to read up on it , but my daughter likes the water, yes takes time to fill, i use a a carafe to fill it so i do not have to take it out of the fridge each time it needs filling, because when filled it is heavy, the filters are expensive, and will see how long they last, will keep the BRITA other family members prefer that and the filters are cheaper, and better than our city water. My family only drinks filtered or bottled water, so having a large container that does not need filling all the time is nice. Fair price, and quick delivery.

Great tasting, dead simple to use

We've used Brita and a handful of other filters. This is the only one that could stand up to the amount of chlorine in our town water. The container lasts my wife and I about 3 days of primary drinking water use. It truly takes the water down to a zero PPM reading. We've had it for a month and the filter is still running at nearly 100%. The only problem we have is how long it takes to fill. We typically fill it, leave it on the counter, and return to fill the later half 30 minutes later. That being said, it's easy to get into the habit of it every couple of days. Highly recommend.

Good stuff

Use it almost 4 years, changed 2 filters (our tap water in Metro Vancouver rarely exceeds 10 TDS), love it! Recently plastic valve was broken, small, but vital part, so I need to replace the whole thing... Would be nice, if I could buy that part.

Great filtration, water tastes great!

This water dispenser is just the right size & shape to fit in my fridge. The water tastes great, there is a drastic difference. And knowing that the pipes in my building are decades-old, it is reassuring to know all particles are filtered out. I want from 200ppm to 0. The filtration itself is a little slow, meaning it will take some time to fill it up completely from empty, but that is not a big issue for me compared to the quality of the filtration. I can't talk about longevity, only had it for 2 weeks.

The best in its class

Independent lab test by Mike Adams at CWC labs showed that zero water filters out heavy metals with ease and better than Brita and all other similar filters.. I had the filter for a few month and with a TDS present at my facet of around 150 the filter change will come at around 2 months ( for 2 persons using it).
