Share more easily with Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses

Ray-Ban is one of the most recognizable brands for sunglasses and eyeglasses globally, yet it’s never really tried making a pair of smart sunglasses—until now. The Ray-Ban Stories are the result of a partnership with Facebook to offer wearers a range of features they can use to take photos, capture video, and share what they see with others.

What are Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses?

The Stories smart glasses are not augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) glasses, meaning you don’t wear them to bring virtual content into the real world through these lenses. These glasses are “smart” because they integrate cameras, speakers, and microphones to help communicate with others. You can think of them a little like sunglasses with built-in cameras to record content, and headphones to listen to audio and take phone calls.

How to use the Ray-Ban Stories

The Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses come with dual 5-megapixel cameras situated on either side next to the lenses. Speakers line the handles, aimed at your ears to hear audio playback, while touch controls line the rest of each arm to control the various features available. With all that in play, you can capture photos and video of whatever you see, and listen to tunes at the same time.

The collaboration with Facebook does necessitate you having an account with the social network, so if you don’t use it, the Ray-Ban Stories’ smart features won’t work. You can use them with an iPhone (6s or higher) or Android phone (version 8.1 or higher), where they also pair exclusively with the Facebook View app. That way, the glasses automatically send over whatever you capture to the app on your phone through a Wi-Fi connection.

Capture moments and play music handsfree wherever you are

You can wear the smart glasses anywhere, while on a vacation or while attending a concert or sporting event and capture moments in time without ever reaching for your phone. The quality won’t match what a good smartphone can produce, but it will be perfectly fine for sharing on Facebook or Instagram. Even if you’re doing an activity yourself that doesn’t put the Stories in any danger (they aren’t waterproof), you can always capture those scenes with ease, too.

The open-ear design also means you can hear your surroundings while doing it all, even if you have music playing or while talking to someone. Straightforward touch controls put you in charge of when and where to capture the world around you. A red light goes on to indicate to others when the glasses record video.

Enjoy timeless and classy designs to up your style game

Being Ray-Bans, these smart glasses stick with much of the timeless flare you would expect from the brand. They come in three different styles. The Stories Wayfarer sports the classic look that has spanned decades, and is really the iconic pair that carries on the same tradition, only with all the smart features included. The Stories Round is another enduring style that goes back a long time, especially for women who want something classy and classic all at once. The Stories Meteor was originally an angular offshoot of the Wayfarer, and spun out into its own established look over just as many years.

All three of these unique styles come in a variety of colours and lenses for the kind of look that suits your taste. The Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses can even fit prescription lenses, plus standard and large sizes for the Wayfarer to ensure the right fit.
