product based on the rivals in its class gives you the higher than mid-level performance ranging to upper in its class at the existing price point and features. Leaves room to be desired but cannot complain based on the specs for what you're getting. Household name delivers as branded.

Slowest Computer I've Ever Owned

This is by far the slowest computer that I've ever had the displeasure of owning. The computer seems to be constantly running at 100% CPU despite only having my web browser running, it can't seem to be able to open anything at a half decent speed. Overall, I completely regret having bought this computer and if I could still return it, I definitely would. Best Buy should be ashamed of themselves for selling this piece of garbage.

Restarts Randomly

I bought this laptop when it was on sale a few weeks ago and it restarts at random intervals every day. Definitely not a good deal. I'll have to send it in to get it repaired or buy another laptop.

I hate this computer

I replaced my 8 year old Dell with this computer. My old computer is honestly faster than this computer. I don't get it. It suffers from "100% disk" usage quite often, which makes it almost unusable. The touchpad is garbage, the keyboard layout is horrible, and the battery life is bad (maybe 2 hours tops). I cannot recommend this computer to anyone. I can't believe that I'm actually going to have to give this piece of garbage away and buy a new computer. Best Buy, you really shouldn't be selling these computers... very disappointed all around.

Restarts randomly

Got the laptop on sale, here is my review: For the basic school work that I do (Microsoft Words, Excel, PowerPoint..etc) the computer speed is pretty good. I could even do some very light gaming (This war of mine, Tropico 5..etc) on it with the lowest graphic settings. The problem is that this laptop restarts randomly without any warnings. All of the sudden it will be black screen, the next thing you see is the word "Acer" boot screen. It started happening after a month of purchasing it. Will be sending it back under warranty (of course BestBuy won't help with warranty if you don't have their protection plan), hopefully Acer can fix the issue.

Decent, middle of the line, great place

Just bought it, solid machine. Don't understand why some are saying it's loud, I streamed Pacific Rim on Ultra video settings and the fan was quiet and the laptop never got hot. You certainly are not going to run graphic intensive games, but for movies, surfing, emails or light games, can't beat the price or the machine. Thumbs up!

The worst laptop

I would like rate it with a Zero. Low quality, finger prints stay on top and very hard to keep clean. Computer is very slow. Approx 10 hours to download Window, and super slow to activate Microsoft. and I had to return it to Best buy. Please do not waste your money

BEYOND SLOW LOUD FAN

I purchased this laptop for 399.99 on sale even for that price I had HPs work way better! The fan was LOUD the internet browser was even slow sooo.. Yup I am returning this piece not happy at all!

slow, slow, slow...no, no, no...

This is by far the slowest laptop I ever purchased. It took 8 hours for the windows 10 upgrade, then it took 2 minutes to start up. At last it was working and the entire MS Office package was in French. The slow laptop was return very fast.

Very disappointing - would give it ZERO if the program would allow it.

Very disappointed with this computer. Seems to lose connectivity or have very very poor wi-fi. Have tried it in different locations, with different servers, and consistently this device is slow to connect, has a slower speed than any other device tested, and loses battery charge rapidly. Worst ACER laptop we've ever owned.

Almost completely useless for anything other than basic web surfing

The first time I started it, it took 10 hours to run system updates. When it was finally updated and ready to use, it couldn't handle anything other than basic web browsing and even that was a stretch. Just clicking through menu options would take up to 10 seconds. Change wallpaper? Wait 30-40 seconds for it to load. Change volume? Click button and wait 10 seconds for a response. I attempted to convert a Word document to a .pdf, it crashed the entire computer and it took 2 days (!) to reboot itself. When I finally gave up and did the factory reset in Windows, it took 5 days (that's not a joke...it took 5 days) just to complete the process. Computers ran faster in the 60s. One good thing - Best Buy was great and took it back no trouble.

GREAT LAPTOP

IN LOOKING FOR A LOW COST LAPTOP I FIRST BOUGHT AN HP AND IT WAS QUITE SLOW. NEXT I GOT A DELL AND IT WAS SLOWER STILL AND HUNG. I RETURNED THE DELL AND GOT THE ACER ON SALE FOR 399. IT IS FAR SUPERIOR TO THE OTHERS AND DECENTLY FAST AS ANOTHER HAS SAID. MY WIFE LOVES THIS ONE

A lot of pros yet some cons

Laptop is great. Looks good, feels good, great keyboard, great screen for 1366x768. There is a problem although: For 2.5ghz, you use up most of the ghz a lot of the time: I found myself being able to play games such as minecraft without optifine at 15-30 fps with the radeon graphics, and SCP Containment Breach ran great. The battery life is short. The antimalware service executable uses almost 20% of the cpu all of the time. Even when the computer I got was just opened today and there is no malware at all. The cpu is often at 100% The ram isn't really True ddr4, since it's 1200mhz. pros: Everything not listed is great, good websurfing, good roblox (maps load in slow) and GREAT, EXCEPTIONAL school/writing computer. writing this at 12 AM after 5 hours of usage. I give this pc a 4/5 for the intensive cpu usage.

Great Laptop!

I do enjoy this laptop. The features are great, its well organized and put together. I havent had any problems with it. The one fault that it seems to have, is adding a second user account, I am able to add the account, but it wont log on and doesnt seem to work, so I can only have one account on it. Otherwise its a great laptop at a decent price!

A Decent Laptop

It'll take a while to get used to, and I found that it ran into some problems that included logging in, volume, and more. Therefore, someone who is young, and may not be able to sort out their situation, could have troubles. It is good for it's price because it seems to be in good quality. I think this laptop is great for casual users. Some specifications about the laptop may concern you, but I think 6 gb ram is just fine, and the hard drive is more than you will probably ever need. It is decently fast. Overall, this is a good laptop.
