Decent quality but some "ghosting" in fast scenes

Overall its a pretty decent monitor, I actually ended up buying three of them and use all of them. The thin bezels make this monitor perfect for a triple screen setup. Also the price is good. I've read that you can tilt the monitor but I can't for the love of me figure out how. Trying to tilt it makes it feel like the stand will snap right off, so I gave up that idea. Right now i've showed cardboard pieces under the feet since all the monitor had a slight forward tilt to them. Also when gaming, there is "ghosting" effects when fast objects move across the screen. I use these screen for racing games and this is very noticeable, although not a deal breaker. The lack of displayport is also a little annoying, I had to buy lots of adapters to make it work. Overall I would recommend it despite these shortcomings. It offers fantastic value and great picture quality and colors.

Useless Warranty, Poor CSR, Great Specs at Price ( If Faulty, enjoy Paperweight)

Their Limited Warranty covers nothing. The hinge on the Stand can't support the weight of the Monitor. The hinge cracked within 6 months. A bit of Plastic holds on to the whole weight of the device, What is Acer thinking. Balancing an Elephant over a Pencil. If you do buy this, buy a separate mount.. When it does come slamming down. Acer won't care or do anything. Better be ready to ship it yourself and pay more than full price for repair...while having a useless 3 year "warranty". The monitor slid off and slammed on top of my desk. Half of the Screen does not work anymore. Called CSR, won't cover their own Design Flaw. They ruled it as an accident. I did not spill tea, or abuse it any way. Their poorly designed stand cracked under the wright of the Monitor. There are many who had faulty units 3-5 months in. Again, Acer did not repair or reimburse them. My last monitor was from LG and it withstood 10 years (Stand that cradled the hinge). Been with Acer since Conception. My first PC from 2003 still works to this day. My latest PC from 2014. Their PC's are decent. Some of the monitors are designed poorly. Cutting Corners on the Stand while delivering a above average monitor. This monitor has a serious design flaw, their poor CSR & warranty is not worth it. Even if the device is quality at an affordable price. I rather pay extra for good included warranty and actual Customer Service. Check out their Customer Service reviews. Very anti-consumer unlike other rival companies. From first choice to never again. Acer has gotten their last dime from me. Buy from another Company who can at least deliver a proper 3 year warranty. That you are least get your money's worth. It was not worth 6 months. I would have paid extra for a monitor that can last 3-5 years. Waste of money.

Very good matrix quality

Excellent value for these money. Easy to assembly and connect. Zero issues. Perfect image quality and view angles of IPS matrix.

Excellent value and performance

I was not expecting much out of the Acer but for the sale price I got it for i was pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied by the monitor. Pros: Excellent vivid and bright panel with accurate colours out of the box. Small footprint due to bezeless design. Cons; the menu system looks like something from the 90's. Customization only allows for one user defined profile.

No colour settings

Pros: Light Thin Thin bezels IPS HDMI/VGA/DVI Cons: Terrible, mushy buttons Stand is light thus not very sturdy. NO options to calibrate display (colour, gamma etc.). Only given few indistinguishable presets Not recommended because of this

Great monitor and price

Very small border around the monitor which makes the overall appearance much more appealing. It is excellent quality and is very bright and makes the resolution just as good as it would be on my MacBook pro. It does not have speakers however pairs well with others through the headphone jack. It also connected to my mac with ease and with a clear image. I bought an adapter to connect the HDMI port to my laptop which was also inexpensive (competitor). Overall, this is a great monitor and I would recommend it to anyone. The price was also very good (on sale)

Very Nice

Got in on sale to use as second monitor and I like it, picture is crisp and the monitor looks nice. Great monitor for everyday use and some gaming as well.

No speakers?

This is a really nice monitor for gaming and general use. Super image quality and easy to use. One thing that confuses me is that although it was mentioned that it has built in speakers, it doesn't have!!!You can plug in your earphones at the back of the monitor to get sound but no speakers??. That info is misleading.

I like almost everything about the monitor, except for the fact it cannot be adjusted. For example, if you want the monitor to be a higher, or slightly to the left - that cannot happen unless you put it on top of a few books or physically move the entire monitor to the left.

Acer Monitors 23.8"

work well, Clear picture. good value for your money. Easy to assemble.

Just bought yesterday on sale.

staff were quick to find out if they had any left. this one as on display between all the more expensive ones. this one had a much crisper sharper image with no glare which I like. others have complained of it being to bright or washed out. when set beside your old monitor you will think differently. also ambient light effects the contrast on these screens. No stutter while gaming. It is very smooth for gaming no flickers which I got on my old monitor. overall worth the money if you like crisp and sharp screens. lack of frame around the screen makes it look cleaner. It's pretty wide which is extremely handy in many other ways depending on the application. if you want something around 24" or dual monitors without breaking the bank this is the best bang for your buck.

Good value

I bought this monitor on sale without doing much research, thanks to BB's return policy. I will be keeping this one. It's pretty good for my casual use - working with MS Office, browsing, and streaming video. The brightness is set at 100 out of the box so you have to adjust it. I can see the bad reviews due to the monitor being too bright is because of this. Its connection options are very good with all three connection methods (HDMI, DVI, VGA), as well as an audio pass-through. To one of the reviewer's comment, it is able to tilt a few degrees up, maybe 5.

This monitor shipped quite quickly (2 days), and was easy to hook up to my computer. I had to adjust the resolution to the max, and then the aspect ratio matched the monitor's screen shape. (It was preset at another resolution and ratio, and everything was appearing stretched at first.) The almost edgeless design means I am able to squeeze this almost 24" monitor into my workspace without wasting real estate on thick black edges. And since I do a lot of work in Photoshop, I am pleased that I can now stack my tools out of the way on the side of my screen, and see two or three image files without overlapping. Sweet!

Great Monitor

This is a great monitor. Picture quality is great and the bezels are thinner than I anticipated. I use this for both console and PC gaming, and I have definitely enjoyed my experience with this monitor.

  • from Markham, ON

Quality is Sub par

You pay for what you get. It does work with full functionality. The response rate is as advertised, no input lag, refresh rate is as advertised. The image quality is not as amazing as compared to other high end monitors, but the price is reasonable for what you get.

Suits my needs

I love the connectivity options (HDMI, VGA, and DVI, the picture is crisp and bright.

Specs are misleading

In general, this is a really good monitor. The screen is very nice for a casual user, and it has many adjustable settings. However, the lack of tilt may bother some. I purchased this, as I needed a monitor with a speaker, but the specifications are very misleading. As the audio part states, there are no built in speakers, but there are two at the bottom. This is indeed true, as there are volume buttons on the bottom of the monitor, and you can see where the speakers are along with a headphone jack, but there will be no sound output. It is not clear whether this is an error on Acer's part, but there is a very similar model with a code of BMIDX instead of BIDX with speakers. The one BestBuy sells is BIDX, so you won't get any sound. The design is very nice, as it is frameless. The HDMI and DVI ports are also nice, as it allows for multiple inputs. TL;DR: Good monitor, misleading audio specifications

washed out.

this monitor is amazing for the price. everything is good until you see the black levels on this monitor. its just so washed out you cant deal with it.

  • from Port Coquitlam, BC

Thin borders are great!

The clarity and contrast between white and blacks are overall very sharp. Only small downside is the monitor turns on quite a bit slower than the other monitors I've worked with or owned.

Great monitor

This is a great monitor. Very crisp and bright. Picture quality and viewing angle great. Love it.

  • from New Westminster, BC

Very sharp and good looking monitor!

We got 10 of these monitors to setup dual monitors desktops. It's very sharp and good looking monitor! Packed so well. Best Buy shipped the so quick. We got them delivered the following day after placing an order - THANKS!

  • from Newmarket, ON

Washed out.

The contrast ratio is horrible. Its really washed out and the whole picture just looks white and washed out. Its not a good experience at all. Returning today.

  • from Pincourt, QC

Can only be used with the stand

Why only 3 starts? I needed to replace a monitor, and this looked like exactly what I needed - multiple input choices on a screen that was within 1/2" of the size of my other screens. The problem? It can only be used on its stand. I needed a monitor that can be mounted on a swing arm; I have several monitors arrayed in a curve around my desk - this will not fit in. If it weren't for that I would give it a higher rating.

Sound 0/Picture 5

The description mentions speakers. This is false. There is a headphone jack through which you can get sound, or I'm assuming hook up a small speaker that works off a headphone jack. The picture is nice and bright. Response is quick. Set up is easy. Just don't expect actual speakers.
