Absolute Garbage: Read the Review For Why

"a dependable partner in crime" is how this laptop is described. Well if this laptop was my partner in crime I'd be in jail because it can't do anything at a reasonable speed. Open more than one word document... it's slow. More than one tab in any browser... go grab a drink a snack, you'll be waiting a while. All I needed was a laptop for college. I don't game. I don't download. My only requirement was a laptop that could be used to access the internet and had some kind of word program. You see I thought this laptop could handle that much. Well, I was wrong. It's awful. My only hope is that it lasts another 4 months until my semester is over and I am able to throw in against a wall. Pro tip: I went back to Bestbuy a couple months after buying this despicable product and asked the sales rep why it's such a piece of garbage. He said it was because it has the slowest processor available and the sales staff that recommended it must have known nothing about computers. He directed my friend to one cheaper one that he said was a much better computer. I regret buying this. Even though I bought it on a great sale, I still paid too much for daily frustration and fits of rage caused by this useless product. Pros: -would look good in a thousand pieces Cons: -everything else Moral of the story: DO NOT BUY

Great for the price

I was initially a little worried during the windows update and install as it seemed to take forever to install and configure but once everything was setup and I uninstalled most of the bloatware that it comes with it runs great for the price paid. Not sure about the other negative reviews on here but it is running fine for me with 5 browser tabs open, Netflix streaming and editing a word doc all at once

Died after just over 1 year

I bought this Oct 2016, Now in Nov 2017 suddenly the motherboard dies no warning signs nothing, had sparingly used it, blank screen issues on several occasions specially during Windows upgrades, Slow boot up time (felt it took forever to load or boot up.) Not recommended at even the low price.

The most BS laptop EVER. I MEAN EVER

I wish I could give negative stars. If I could, it would be negative 12. THIS LAPTOP IS ABSOLUTE BS. DO NOT PURCHASE. STAY AWAY. MOVE ON AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT SPEND OME RED CENT ON THIS. BEWARE. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. LOOK ANY OTHER DIRECTION. RUN. RUN. JOG. TAKE A BUS, TRAIN, PLANE TO GET AWAY.... EECC & Jessie Tim are absolutely right. This laptop is absolute garbage. The second day I went to use it. I coildnt do anything. It kept freezing. I had to restart the laptop 4, yes FOUR times. Even using Chrome to check email Chrome had to shut down because "The Program is Not Responding." Even transferring files to my USB drive gave me the same message. The laptop also takes at least 15 minutes to load the start screen each time you use it. All you see is Acer on the screen and that little wheel going in a circle. Acer is nothing but garbage. The worst, WORDT company to ever make a laptop. Get a Mac Book instead.

I've had this thing for one day and it is the slowest computer I've ever used, including computers from 1997. I bought it for very basic computer use (internet browsing, MS Office, music). It's not the internet that is slow. The computer itself is slow. I waited for all of the updates to sort themselves out. Now that it is up and running, I can't even use it for basic tasks. It takes about 5-7 minutes to boot up. If I click on the start menu it will open after about 30 seconds. Tried opening the photos folder and that took almost 2 minutes to open. Forget about using the internet - that takes 2-3 minutes to open and when it does the whole computer freezes. Every click you make for basic computer tasks is delayed by anywhere between 30 seconds and several minutes depending on what you are clicking on. I'll be bringing this back! On the bright side, my purchasing experience of this laptop was very satisfying as Best Buy price matched it and were very helpful. No issues with Best Buy or the staff, they were excellent.

Great computer, great price.

I'm currently using this computer for school and it works perfectly for everything I needed it to. It's fast and easy to use.

Pretty Good for the Price

DISCLAIMER: I only bought this laptop yesterday, so this review might not be entirely accurate. This is a pretty good laptop for the price given. The battery does drain a bit fast while the laptop is open, however when it is on standby the battery barely drops at all. It runs quite well for what I've been using it for (Microsoft Word, Writing Python programs, and running a few games), and I'd definitely recommend it to someone else! (Also, it says that it comes with a 1.5GHz processor, however it is only 1.1GHz)

Good Buy from Best Buy

I'm unsure why the fellow below posted with such negative issues. My daughter bought this laptop for high school, with her first work pay. Was super simple and easy setup. I sat beside her from the box opening, setting up, installing Windows 10 apps etc.. She is 15 years old and managed with not one issue. System and network access and speed was amazing. I will recommend this laptop and service to friends and family,Perfect entry level laptop for school. I will buy one for my other daughter for sure. I also want to mention I used the online reservation option on the best buy site and happy with that service. Not a issue at all, arrived on site, gave our name paid and out the door. Amazing Service Thank You!

The guy who rated it 1 star is a moron who has slow internet and uses IE. Ignore his review.

Issues right out of box

Well for starters I wanted an entry level laptop for my girlfriend to use. This unit should easily be able to do basic social media, web surfing and email. After 6 hours of updates which I could tolerate and setting up her profile the lag is so bad that it takes 5-10 seconds for letters to appear in the search bar. Upon opening up Explorer the page after about 45 seconds is (not responding). I reset to factory settings again....same issues.. Maybe a lemon, sharp looking unit but this is ridiculous and this is coming from a heavy PC user.
