- Very good!- September 25, 2020
I've had mine for about a month now. No issues yet. Screen has no dead pixels. Keyboard is working fine. CPU runs at high 30's to low 40's degrees all the time (I don't play too intensive games). In the games I do play everything is high detail and fast. It's quiet (fans haven't had to ramp up yet). Price was good for a 17 inch laptop. In short, this is a home run for me!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Helpful (5)Not helpful (1)Report
- Keyboard issues out of the box- September 11, 2020
Random keys not working out of the box. Brief research shows that this is a known issue with Acer laptops that has been affecting various models for a number of years. I wish Acer would have better quality control and reliability. If this laptop would be problem free it would be a great buy but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The worse part is that thousands of users report these issues and they are both intermittent and persistent/re-occurring problems. (Just google Nitro 5 keyboard issues) And no, BIOS updates, BIOS settings resets, driver re-installs, battery resets did not solve this issue. It appears to be either a faulty keyboard or faulty ribbon cable out of the box. I don't think I'll be buying an Acer product again any time soon. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.Helpful (18)Not helpful (11)Report
