- Solid performance with limitations- September 17, 2020
This Chromebook is great. The screen looks good for the price range and the computer has great external build quality. The processor and RAM are solid performers with ChromeOS. The screen aspect ratio (3:2) gives more usable screen real estate when writing or reading. It makes the device look bigger though. The only major downside is the WiFi modem. It overheats with extended use (e.g., Zoom) and causes crashes. This was fixed by purchasing an USB-C Ethernet adapter and using Ethernet most of the time. This solved the connectivity issues. The WiFi usable for most light use, it's just extended and heavier use that causes problems.

Brand new to chromebook but instantly amazed how fast it is. The speed it processes is fantastic. So much you can do but have so much to learn. I was able to use instantly without knowledge. However it's time to learn features I use often and need. Thanks to Unboxed Chromebook for their reviews on this product. I have zero regrets. No fan sound. Battery life is good. Keyboard perfect feel. Love the 2:1 screen ratio. Was worried at first, but love it.size is perfect. I've only owned 17" screens but don't feel any loss in screen. Only complaint is the speakers. Everyone complaint. I use ear buds which work well. Wish they come up with a update for speakers.

Everything about the Spin 713 is first rate except for the tinny speakers and the microphone that seems to be very poor quality. I bought this to replace an Acer R13 Convertible 13.3 inch that I bought in 2017. Placing ths spin side by side with the R13 and recording a video of myself talking, the new Spin 713 is vastly inferior to the Acer R13. Inferior speakers and the microphone recording on the Spin 713 sounds so bad it makes me wonder if it's defective. On the bright side, I love the big screen on the Spin 713 and the keyboard action is nice. The CPU is quick and the response time is great when opening web pages.
