  • Fans struggle keeping up

from Kamloops on January 22, 2020

This rig is far superior to my previous, which is what I expected and why I paid $2k. I'm happy with all of it so far, except the cooling system. Playing AC Odyssey at high settings with a 1440p 32" looks stunning, but the three fans are loudly spinning their little hearts out and the computer is regularly 80C, while definitely climbing above. I open the box and swing the psu out on its convenient hinge when I play, which significantly keeps temperatures lower. But I shouldn't have to do this. I shouldn't be forced to collect all my dog's hair in the unit from day one. Removing the chassis cover is also the most awkward system I've had yet, with a bunch of little plastic hinges that feel like they'll snap off while you struggle to remove and re-cover. I'm annoyed I already have to consider upgrades when it's brand new.
