Amazing! Incredible! Stunning!

This is the best laptop I've ever seen let alone owned, I got it for Christmas and it is literally like my child. Yeah it's expensive but you pay for quality, yanno? If you are willing to spend the money on a good laptop, this is 101% the way to go so I mean, y'all should buy it. People always freak out when they see it has the touch bar, it ain't something you see everyday. It's incredible. Buy it. 11/10 would recommend.

Amazing laptop

I am coming from over 30 years on Windows based machines, going all the way back to the DOS days. I have been a "MAC" hater for most of my life, and has predominately used Windows, LINUX (different distros through the years, and a bit of the original iMAC - for file conversion purposes). The reason for this purchase was actually driven from my disappointment with the Android phones, and needed something that just worked, understanding there will be a sacrifice on customization moving to the iPhone (X). Since I went does the iPhone route (which I also was never a fan of - another review on that), I decided to take the plunge for the Macbook 13" (over a Surface Book 2) and utilize BestBut's 14 day return policy if I did not or could not get accustomed with the OS, but wanted to really give it a try. I have to say I was actually very surprised, not only did I love the look of the device (the Surface is a gorgeous machine as well) but it just worked. While there are aspects of the Windows OS that can be "gaudy" the MAC is more understated and just works the way that it should. I have found that the application and device (printer/scanner) installations to be by far easier, seamless and painless as compared to anything on a Windows machine. Think make sense, as long I reminded myself that it is different than what I was accustomed to. The touch bar is more of a novelty in my opinion - think it can be developed to give better functionality, but volume controls etc are pretty nice and easy to access. One thing that surprised me - I have always heard that MAC easier etc to use, but there are some things on the Windows OS that are just plain easier - moving files can happen from anywhere to anywhere, regardless of where I am, but there are some minor limitations on the MAC, nothing difficult to work around - surprised, but I guess it is more re-learning the approach. The multi-desktops and track-pad are SO much better than on any Windows machine I have ever used, and until you use and get accustomed with it you can never appreciate it - the 2 finger to right click setting is perfect and I prefer it now than right clicking a mouse/track pad on my Windows machines. Those multi-desktop's - they are so well integrated, it is a thing of beauty, time saving, and efficiency that it makes me smile thinking about it. For someone who has used UNIX, Linux, Windows and now MAC, if I had to choose between then to do my Word processing, Internet browsing, or other day-day tasks, the one I grab is my Macbook, there are some Windows only apps that I run on my Surface Pro, but it is one application, and I prefer not to install Parrallel's, Bootcamp etc on MAC as yet. If you are looking for a new laptop - I think it is a great option, it can be expensive, but it is well built, and the OS is fantastic. You have to be aware that there are apps that are Windows only, and some hardware devices are only compatible with Windows, but I no longer need to swap out hard drives, or change my Video card, upgrade my DVD drive, I just need a machine that works, works well, and does what I need. Some additional port options would have been great, but most things, even my Song Mirrorless camera, comes with wireless data transfer, that I don't miss it. Good luck in choosing.

LOVE IT!

I've always been a loyal apple customer but since this cost over 2.5k and my last laptop was an air that only cost 1.1k I did a lot of research and there was a lot of confusion about which laptop to get. Let me say this, I returned a few other expensive machines before I got to this, I am soooo glad I got this one though. at first I wasn't sure if the touch bar was worth it seemed a bit android like even but now that ive been using it, it grows on you and its amazing, very high quality, nothin android like about this machine. If you can afford it, get it! Cheers, ZANE.
