  • Crisp HD video: The security cameras record content in crystal-clear HD 720p so you can make out every detail when looking over your footage. Whether you're viewing footage of your kids coming home from school or figuring out that commotion in the living room was only your dog bounding around, you'll see everything in sharp high definition.
  • Wide angle: The camera lenses boast a wide angle of 110 degrees to capture more in the frame.
  • Night vision capability: The cameras are equipped with night vision, so they'll work tirelessly day and night to give you the peace of mind you need. Whether it's a dark basement or back deck in the middle of the night, these Arlo cameras have got you covered.

Great product

I have had these cameras on a job site since last August. They have been great. I can monitor on site activities from my phone when off site. The batteries have been replaced once after about 6 months and are now still at 80%. We have had temperatures has low as -35c and the cameras worked fine. Recommend cameras

Camera Stops Recording

Had these cameras for exactly one month when they stopped recording. They would show the activity, then you would go and view the recording and it was completely black. Also, the batteries only lasted 3 weeks and there is such a time delay in the recording that most times it doesn't pick up who was even there.

Poor product - Waste of money!

I had high hopes for this system, my previous security system had poor resolution using BNC type cables which took almost a day to install. The wireless Arlo seemed to be the answer and it worked for the first year, even though battery life was less than expected and the delay from motion detection to actual recording left a lot to be desired (5-10 secconds). Now after a year of use, 2 of my 3 cameras burn out the batteries in less than 48 hours after recording less than 10 minutes worth of action. The cameras have lost their sensitivity as well, missing daily events they caught when new. Netgear support isn't great either, one camera was a month over the warranty and they would not help me. Don't waste your time or money on this poor product.

I have owned 5 Arlo cameras, among many issues is the biggest: Each and every one of these cameras at some point has suddenly started recording everything in a pink hue. So in 2 years time, one by one each one sooner or later becomes defective. Than you have to jump thru Netgear's hoops to get a replacement . Now I have sold them off for cheap just to go buy a real security camera system

Not too bad

There are two things to consider: one is how often do you need them to be actively monitoring because these are battery operated and continuous monitoring will drain them rather quickly, if it’s only 6 hours a night set in the motion detection they can last a couple months no problem - two; they are only reliable up to -10 C in winter so even though they say they are weather proof - the batteries will freeze - so be aware of their limit. I bring mine inside in winter. The arlo pro is a nice camera I added it to my two camera system @ set up is easy if your router has an extra port to hook up the base station. I am no techy but I found this quite simple. The range of the base is limited, I am on Rogers which is very limited in signal strength so I previously installed a ntgear wifi extender device - I can plug the base into it to get bettter distribution of the wifi signal.

exactly what we wanted

we haven't had any of the negative issues others have had. i was a bit hesitant when buying this, but it has worked great. the only problem we had was the 'pink' hue in one of the cameras, however re-synching the cameras to the wireless box fixed that. we don't use the 'motion detection' 24/7 so the batteries last a lot longer. we only turn it on when we're away on weekends to watch over our horses. over a month and batteries are above 70%. when we're away motion detection is great. shows the horses coming to the water so we can see their water supply and the hi def picture shows good details so we can see their movements clearly. if you're going to want the motion detection feature (which is the free feature that records 10 second clips online for 1 week) you might want the rechargeable unit. This is the only way it records unless you pay for an upgrade, but it's more than enough for what we use it for. i've already recommended it to friends, so i have no problem recommending it here. if i needed another unit i wouldn't hesitate to get another one. we might even add a 3rd camera at some point.

Don't waste your money.

After my car was broken into a few times after Christmas, I decided to purchase these, since they were on sale...should have saved my money. Setup was pretty easy, but other than that, it's been nothing but a hassle. Batteries don't last very long. A month or two, tops. Even purchased the rechargeable batteries, and they last about a week or two! I find I have to re-sync the camera to the base, at least once a week, as they randomly lose connection, and they don't sync back up automatically, so you have to remove them from their location, and bring them within 3 feet of the base to sync. They do have free cloud storage for a week, but I find that's the only good thing about them. They detect motion, but most of the time, it's as the subject has passed below the camera. Also, recorded video is blotchy and glitching. I recommend buying hard wired security, instead of this garbage.

impressive product

So I don't know if I was lucky reading some reviews about the cameras dying I can't tell this about the one I bought. I bought mine couple years ago And it's still working. It's been outside everyday. On the beginning of this winter one of my dogs jump and grab the camera and they played with it all day(I have 10 dogs Alaskan huskies) And those dogs can destroy literally everything. So anyways they play with this camera all day and then they buried somewhere in the snow. I couldn't find this camera for five months during the winter. But I could see it through my mobile app it's somewhere in the backyard buried under the snow. Camera stayed on 4 whole 5 months of harsh Calgary Winter and I finally found it in the spring. I gave a little white did reset and was nothing to it just some bite marks from my dogs! 20% of battery leftAlthough I was not using camera everyday just checking from time to time if it's still on and stays on for so many months under the snow! I was super impressed. So maybe first batch of cameras were made in a different Factory.

So far, so good

I purchased this set of two Arlo 720p cameras about a week ago and I've had no problems at all. I have both mounted outside, under the soffits of my home. These cameras were very easy to install, and so far they appear to be very reliable, catching only the motion that I would expect for them to catch. I can view the cameras live anytime from my iphone and also have the system set to notify me when there is motion and I am away from my house. I've chosen to use the geofencing feature that uses the location of my iphone to set the cameras to "armed" mode only when I am actually away from my home - I anticipate that this will save battery life in the long run and for my purposes I really don't need them to run while I am home. The geofencing feature really appears to work well, but it doesn't effectively permit for a second phone to be included in the feature, which might be an improvement for future versions of this camera. Although I haven't observed any particular drain on the batteries of either camera so far, I did some research and purchased the recommended Tenergy rechargeable batteries for these cameras.

Don't Buy This Dogshit(it should be no stars)

I bought arlo last week assuming that I'd have some kind of an assurance that it would do it's job. Well when I got home I set it up and there was the first problem. The one set of batteries read 50%. I searched everywhere on the site to find out what could be done. After an hour I found a Netscape tech chat. Little did I know that his suggestion would be moot, I thought Pro meant Expert. My mistake. Anyways to sum it up two days of use and my batteries are at 13%. I can't believe that they say it will last how long? At what temperature? Your -10 is a lot different from the -10 on Earth. Say hello the next time you're on Earth. I'll be the guy with the stamp that reads "SUCKER" on my forehead at the Best Buy returns line up. What's that? No Returns...aaaargh!

  • from Surrey, BC

Poor video quality outdoors

They call these cameras HD but I cannot even make out a license plate number in my own driveway during daylight! The cameras are set on Best Video too. Night vision is even worse. These are at best good for monitoring indoors or when the image is within 10 feet with good lighting. Motion detection is flawed. The reason I purchased these is they are totally wire free, this is the only appealing feature.

  • from Sarnia, ON

Don't bother

Lots of research brought me to Arlo. Against my better judgement with regards to batteries I bought this system anyway. Outside camera died after about six months and during a brutal cold spell. Second camera died after around 6 months indoors and very little use. The "action" is usually over by the time the camera picks up an intruder and picks up snow, spider webs, bugs, etc. Not worth the money. Get a wired system for the same price and skip this, unless you live in a warm climate and want to miss most of the action.

They have won me back - update to recent reveiw

Just to update my previous review - Arlo support, finally, did help me out and they shipped me a replacement camera, and a pre-paid Fedex return authorization to ship the defective one back. So far, so good with the new camera - I just really hope they have fixed the pink hue issue, and they are able to have better customer service available, closer, where the phone lines are not full of static. I would like to buy one more camera, but I am going to wait a bit, to see if the pink hue becomes a problem again, on my back yard camera, or on the new camera in my front yard. I do like the system, and so far, the cold weather in Calgary has not seemed to be an issue - I thought I may have to bring them inside, but so far, so good.

Great System - but very poor service whenthe product defects are discovered

I researched and decided ARLO was the best bet for wireless, outdoors, easy to use. I have installed and used the system, and I loved it. Easy to set up, cameras are easy to install with the outdoor mounting hardware, and system is handy, I can look at it from anywhere there is internet. Pretty neat. BUT I am so very disappointed in the quality of the hardware now. One of my cameras has started to have a pink hue during the daylight (after approximately 6 months in use). When I Google the problem, it seems it is a VERY common problem for the past two years, MANY people have had the same problem with their cameras. Some people seem to have have had luck dealing with ARLO/Netgear support and getting replacement cameras (at their expense for shipping), but my experience is terrible. When you call, the phone line is very staticky, and you talk to someone overseas who gives you a support number and tells you to try to reset the camera, and call back after if that does not work. But then, when you call back , they put you on hold while they "review the case". I don't think they ever come back on the phone, I gave up after waiting 20 minutes. I email online, and get no response other than that there are duplicate support tickets and one will be closed. No response at all about how to fix the problem, or to get a replacement camera. I am very disappointed, as I had loved the system, but now I am not sure what to do. Until Arlo/Netgear fixes the issue with the pink hue on the cameras, and their horrible customer service, I would not bother getting this system. I think Best Buy should stop selling this brand, until they fix the quality issues.

Wast of Money

Activity is over before camera comes on. Spiders, leaves, branches all activate it. Ease of setup, excellent picture but worthless for what it was purchased for. Batteries are expensive and do not last

  • from Stoney Creek, Ontario

Not Impressed

I picked these up on Saturday and returned them 4 days later. Batteries are supposed to last 4 of this morning 1 camera was down to 25%. The other one I hadn't really hooked up. Video quality was poor....night vision was awful. The camera would notify me of motion when a car drove by but when I pulled into the driveway it wouldn't notice my vehicle. It would however record motion when my wife pulled into driveway. My kids would walk into the house and it wouldn't notify me of motion. I had high hopes for this system after reading reviews online but didn't want to have to keep replacing batteries and it wouldn't always record.

It's a buy

After much frustration with a cheaper brand that kept losing its WiFi connection, we are very pleased with this system, which was recommended to us by a reputable security firm in Ottawa. I'm no techie, but setting this system up was incredibly easy. The image resolution is great and the connection to the control box is steady and reliable. Navigating the control panel on the computer is child's play. We like it so much we're going to buy a third camera for the other half of the yard.

Wireless outdoors in Canadian Winter

The only problem with all these fabulous wireless systems out there is when used outdoors they run on batteries. This is a problem during the extreme cold weather we often get in Canada. I have to go wired for it to be a truly trusted security system. As an indoor system it's likely quite fine.

Going back to store

I bought a 2 camera system. Although video on Arlo Website says it's quick and easy to install, i've been at it for 4 hours and I still tcan't get the base station to connect to the internet. Tried to get help online. Many people seemed to have the same problem but I did not find any real answers. This thing is going back to the store tomorrow.

Security cameras are for your security but this camera is required your security. You can not install this camera outside since there is no proper secure installation kit.

  • from Calgary, AB

Did Not Meet My Requirements

I agree with Randy from Maple Ridges review. And really do not understand the 5/5 ratings although maybe our expectations and placements of the camera's (indoors vs. outdoors) are different. I wanted an exterior security system. Simply put, if someone was approaching my home I could have footage securely recorded for use review later. Camera's positioned easily, connection to WiFi was seamless, everything needed was in the box including batteries, perimeters were easily set and emails started sending me video immediately. I had to move the cameras at the front of the house, front attached garage, as they would lose WiFi signals but in fairness there is a lot of concrete and brick between our router and the camera's. I just moved the camera's higher and the problem was solved. Reviewing my video however I would have pictures of my front yard and street after someone had walked up our sidewalk but recording lag doesn't start until they are out of the picture. Many times somebody walking up the centre of the camera wouldn't even trigger the recording. If we are gardening or cutting the grass in front of the camera's they worked but if we were more than 30' from the camera there is no way it could be used to identify someone as their features become fuzzy. Camera's and features seem to work quite well in the house but this is not what I purchased them for. Packing the unit up for return was easy and you gotta love Best Buy's return policy.

  • from Toronto, ON

Good product, but...

I was looking for a security camera system but I don't want to run cables and drill holes, or have to have a power source outdoors. When I saw this Arlo security system, I thought I should give it a try. The system was very easy to set up and install, and works as described. The two cameras system came with four magnetic wall mounts, I wish the package comes with 2 magnetic mounts and two outdoor brackets. Will be nice if Arlo would make a rechargeable battery pack (similar to what you use in a cordless phone) instead of those expensive batteries. I tried to program the camera with IFTTT, but "IF motion is detected" then "phone my smartphone" option is only available for US phone numbers, I hope this feature will soon be available for Canada as well. I am thinking of using IFTTT when I am away for a few days.

  • from Montreal

Amazing worth every penny

If you gave this product less than 3 stars...your crazy. This arlo system is worth it. Bought 2 to start and they work perfect easy set up 100% wireless ...just don't use rechargeable batteries

  • from Maple Ridge, BC

The price is not justified for what you get

(I wanted to give 3 stars but I can't click the stars on iPad, apparently). I have has my cameras for six months so have had lots of time to form a proper opinion. 1) Despite what the manual says, I've been using rechargeable batteries ever since the ones that came with it died after a couple of weeks (about 25 2-minute videos per day. 2) The motion sensing is quite flaky. It often ignores movement directly across its field of view while other times it will start recording with a moth flying by. 3) The app/website is functional but full of confusing terminology and operation. For example, they used to have a recycle bin but they took that away for who only knows what reason. So if you accidentally delete a video you don't have a second chance, even though is all cloud based where storage shouldn't be that much of an issue. 4) Don't expect much of their customer service. There's a nice looking community forum but for the most part it's like a dating line with nothing but other guys i.e. It's mostly people just sharing complaints. About the best advice I can give is to say that if I could go back in time I would not buy this system.

  • from Quebec,

Good product overall

The system works as described. Performance so far has been good. After I tested, I decided to buy to extra cameras. All are operating indoor. Pros: - Simplicity setting up - Easy app and software allows for good level of customization - Wireless cameras are a big plus. Easy and simple to install, also flexible to change locations if necessary. (I already ended up changing the location of two of the cameras after some experiences) - Good support website and forum (plenty of people available to help any given small doubt you might have) - Flexible usage. I have only a 1mb internet connection, and still the cameras operate well under minimum usage. - Image quality is good overall, the wide angle without much distortion. (it is not however a long range camera if that's your main purpose). Cons: - The batteries. Wireless does not come without a price. Keep in mind you'll have to change batteries regularly. How regularly will depend on usage and other factors (one of my cameras is on the fringe of wireless coverage and battery consumption is significant higher). I opted to get some rechargeable batteries. This however, makes the price go considerably higher. - Price. All things considered (i.e. rechargeable batteries), the overall package becomes pricey. This is because of the wireless feature. So I guess is part of the deal...

Great wireless cameras

This Arlo system is one of the best I have come across. Set up is quite easy, but I did have some issues with setting up modes to turn the cameras off when at home. However, support on this was excellent. There is a negative in that the batteries are only good for approximately 6 months and the cost of replacement batteries are quite expensive in that you need 4 per camera, as well as the fact that you will have to climb up to change the batteries and then re-postion the camera again. They should have blue tooth capability, so that recordings can be made to a computer at home for longer recordings if desired. I believe that they will be coming out with a sound camera very soon. That would be a big plus . Overall- very satisfied

  • from Markham, ON

Great value and easy set up

Easy to set up. Great value for GE money. Only negative is I can only record to the Netgear cloud. Would like an option to record on my PC.

  • from Lower Sackville, N.S.

Excellent security system

Purchased the starter kit with one camera to try. Has been installed for about a month now. No issues so far. Easy set up, and great videos. (day and night) Took a few tries to set up scheduled video recording, and can switch to full coverage if away from home. Alerts work great and was good to have in place while out on New Years Eve. Will definitely be adding other cameras.

  • from Markham, ON

Easy set up, reasonable price.

The Arlo system is excellent. Compared to IP cameras of a few years ago, this system is really easy to set up and does not require extensive technical knowledge. The recordings from the cameras can be retrieved instantly, anywhere. The one thing that could be improved is the explanation for motion detection activation for each camera.

  • from Oshawa, ON

Orlo Security System

System works very well. Quality great. Only Negative and it is a BIG Negative, is that it will only save to their cloud drives. Insecure System for a Security System. I am not a fan of the Cloud Phenomenon in any way. Actually I hate the Cloud to be honest. Way too much information going out of my computer rather than in. 100% intrusion into my personal and private life, in all ways. I would much prefer captures to be controlled by me as to where they get saved. Cloud saves SHOULD BE OPTIONAL. For example: If I or any family member gets caught on my security cam walking around in the buff, I do not want it saved to a NetGear Cloud Server. That is expecting way too much TRUST that nobody in NetGear or anywhere will have access to it. Even after deletion, I do not believe captures are truly DELETED from ANY Cloud servers, immediately and not recoverable.

  • from Vancouver, BC

Excellent Wireless Security System

This has been exactly what i've been looking for, for a long time. I have been using a dropcam camera because of it's high quality video. Unfortunately dropcam does not have an exterior grade camera. This camera is at par with dropcam in terms of quality and the fact it's design for exterior installation is a huge plus. The quality is superb and the fact that i can install the camera anywhere outside the house is great. It comes with 7days free video recording on the internet cloud, which you would have to pay with other manufacturers. Installation was super easy and quick. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a security camera without the hassle of having you house wired for one. I'm glad someone decided to come to the market with a wireless HD camera for exterior use. I would have thought dropcam would have been the first, considering it's success with the indoor cam.

Worth the extra money

I did some research on various camera systems, and this one consistently came up at the best. Despite the fact I loathe to spend a lot of money, this was absolutely worth it. It was incredibly easy to set up (minus trying to screw it into the stucco of the house...). We like that we actually got four different mounts in our package so we can move the cameras around if needed/desired. The only thing that would be nice is if they came in different colours (ie a black option and a white option) because depending on the colour of your home, they really can stand out. Maybe thats a good thing?

  • from Toronto, ON

Great Camera

Installed 2 cameras a couple weeks ago to compliment the installed alarm system. The setup was quite easy, the cameras work fine, great picture night and day. The mode setting to activate/deactivate motion detection and subsequent recording is not as clearly written as it could be. Set the motion detection/recording controls to off during the day when you are home and when you check the internet display it appears that motion detection is still on. If the control software (apps) would be better written and easier to navigate I would give it 5 stars. Considering the expense and the unavailability (through best buy) of outdoor mounting brackets (mail order and wait for shipping) and the poorly written mode setting I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars until I see an improvement in the app.

  • from British Columbia

Best of 3 camera systems I have purchased by far. Easy to set up on your smartphone, easy to use and so far (about 2 months) there haven't been any technical glitches. Definitely recommend.

  • from Montréal, QC

Good picture quality and versatile

Expensive but easy to install, use and could easily be moved into any spot in the house. I picked up a few cameras, will likely add more during my next vacation out of the house. Great to have as an add on separate from the house alarm.
