  • Fantastic headset, but with some poor user experience

Note: I use the USB for PC for audio and mic, and Optical Audio for just audio on Xbox so I don't actually need the Xbox version (I've had difficulty grounding Aux on my PC or something and my mic would come out fuzzy, so I just went back to USB) I've had this headset for about 2 years now, and it has been durable and still looks almost new. The sound quality is fantastic for wireless, the headband is comfortable for long periods of time, the battery life is great for one day at a time heavy use, and the controls for changing volume/voice are very helpful. The headset feels premium to use with features like auto sleeping when placed down and auto muting mic when up, but has a few things to learn before it feels usable. The charging part of the stand as a poor design, leading to a great difficulty getting it to charge or pair properly. Placing the headset down to charge isn't very easy, and will often need you to adjust the ears to settle into place (sometimes side to side motion, or sometimes adjusting them vertically) and often it will shut the headset off/put it to partial sleep (Pro tip: hold the 7.1 button below the power switch, and hold the game volume side of the mixer at the front at the same time to reset the headset and pair). It's a fantastic headset once you get over the learning curve (I would not recommend this type of headset to young kids and they will have problems, A10s are better), and I've enjoyed using this both for my Xbox and PC. Tip: if you want to use this for both Xbox and PC as a mic you will need a special 4 prong aux for PC Pros: - Long Battery life if you charge it overnight (I wouldn't trust it for more then one day unless you are a light user - Good sound quality and good microphone (You won't sound like crap and you will have trouble being too loud) - Premium Feel, Comfortable, and durable design - Cordless charging (Though not much better tbh, or you can use a play and charge cord for xbox remotes) - Useful features like auto sleep when placed flat, and automuting mic when mic is up - Easily cleanable earcups and headband (You can take them off and even replace them) - Decent range wireless (I can use them downstairs in the kitchen to talk to friends) Cons: - Not very easy to charge them/not very consistent experience - The Mod Kit earcups (Sold separately) are very warm after an hour or two, and I don't really recommend them over the regular ones - Battery drains a bit when off and not charging

  • One of the best pieces of hardware I've bought

This headset is great. I've had quite a few gaming or wireless headsets through the years and I absolutely don't regret investing in this one. I've been using it close to everyday for anywhere from 3 to 10 hours for a year now. The GOOD points: - It is very well built, solid and ergonomic. All the materials are top notch at least from an external solidity point of view. I've fallen asleep with it, it has had a few falls as well from not more than 4 feet, nothing ever broke or got worryingly altered. After a year of heavy use it is very close to new. - It is quite big but I sometimes forget I have it on. It can get hot at times during summer but at some point you have to choose between temperature and sound insulation with the technologies of today. I prefer year round sound insulation. - Sound and microphone are both fantastic from my perspective, I'm not a sound professional but have a pronounced taste for music. The software (astro command center) is simple and practical which helps to have it configured correctly. - Battery life is great. I just tested it and it gave me 13 hours after a full charge. - You can use it while it's charging. - It goes into sleep mode if you put it down, love that feature. The BAD points: - It ran into a known issue that rendered it useless at some point until the battery was completely empty. Waiting a bit fixed it. It never happened again. - It sometimes runs into a sound altering problem where the sound gets fuzzy if you start playing something, on PC just switch from game to voice (or inversely) and back again to solve this. I have this happen maybe once a month. - The connection to the docking station is a pain in the butt at times but if you take 20 seconds to look at how it works you can get it tighter with a furniture pad. The pros far outweigh the cons in my experience. This is a great piece of hardware.

this headset is amazing for sound and battery life, it hits it mark there. but everything else starts to downfall after that. the base station is a great idea and with some improvements would work great but as of this model its garbage, hardly ever starts charging without playing around with it for five minutes every other week i have a problem with the headset not wanting to turn on and the price was just way to much for all these issues. i would not recommend this headset and instead wait till the next one.
