ASUS 24" FHD 75Hz 1ms GTG TN LED FreeSync Gaming Monitor (VP248QG) - Black
- Not worth it!
from Richmond on November 29, 2019
Beware! 3 months after purchase, the buttons became "stuck" and it has been nearly impossible to change the settings for the monitor. From time to time I will get lucky and can change the viewing mode (e.g. gaming, dark room) but some modes result in half the screen being darker. Terrible quality. Going back, I wish I had chosen a different monitor. Don't make the same mistake I did!
- Great detail with dark colours
from Toronto on November 27, 2019
This screen's display settings are optimized to see rich tones when viewing dark colours. As such, detail in white tones are not as clear. Really great for gaming as advertised. If you are also planning on using this for work/school and need to use excel, you may need to turn down the brightness to be able to see the default excel grid. Also because of the blue light filter, this screen would not be appropriate for any type of graphic design as the colours are not true to life. I was not able to "turn off" the blue light filter, nor are there instructions for this provided in the box. However, you can adjust the brightness and contrast for each of your R/G/B dimensions so you could play around with it. For my purposes, I am pleased with the screen and would recommend it to others. :)
- Good value for the price

Bought this for my kids gameing computer and it works very well for what he plays. The images are clear and the refresh rate seems good. Would buy it again.

The ASUS 24" monitor is the right screen for the right price. No complaints. Easy set up and quick delivery.
- A solid budget gaming monitor
from Ottawa on September 1, 2019
As of sept 1st 2019, there are no Asus drivers available for this monitor on windows 10. Windows detects the monitor as a generic pnp 59Hz monitor, which is irritating. The weird part is, my ATI drivers detect it just fine (freesync ready) so it does work for games @ 75Hz as far as I can tell. Just don't expect any custom colour profiles or other windows optimizations. The colours are good (but I needed to play around with my ATI drivers to get the best picture quality). For some reason the picture out of the box is bright and washed out and needs urgent adjustment. I'm using the displayport connector and it works as expected (it also includes vga and hdmi ports for your convenience). With a VESA compatible mount it's a great budget 2nd monitor. The speakers are functional but low quality. I mean, for the price it was about what I expected. But don't expect a great experience if you use them as your primary sound system. No dead pixels or other manufacturing problems on arrival. I did choose to buy a support package with the product (even though it comes with a 3 yr warranty out of the box), because ASUS has a miserable tech support reputation. Gaming fidelity is great. There's no ghosting or blur even in the fastest sequences/games. Dark colours and bright colours are well represented without any glow you sometimes see on the budget gaming ips monitors. One last thing worth mentioning is that this monitor runs cool (I presume because it's LED). Even after long sessions there is no detectable heat emanating from the monitor. All that said, this is a great budget monitor to pick up if you can find it on sale. Its usable for pc gaming or for consoles.

- Good price for monitor with Display Port

My desktop has 2 Display Ports. Instead of buying adapters for HDMI monitors, this monitor is a perfect fit.
