Great If you don't Move!

I went into the Laird Location to buy a new TV/Monitor and for the first time in this Locations History, I had Decent Customer Service. But the unit it self fell very short from being as good as I hoped it world be. So I unboxed the unit and set it up, turned it on and ran my PS4 with it. It was Beautiful! the image was crisp and clear.... and then I sat down and all the Changed! The image went very dark! So I moved around and found that unless you sit dead in front on the perfect angle, the image either goes dark or overly bright. The viewing angle is the worst I have seen in a long time. So for the way I need to set it up, it is not viable for my purposes, So I am going to take it back..... it's too bad.... the truth is if it was not for this major short fall, the unit would be great.

So so

Comes with everything you'd expect from a decent monitor. Free-sync - only available for AMD cards 1ms Response time. - Honestly I couldn't tell the difference from this and 5ms in general gaming from this monitor vs another I am testing. The 4k picture is amazing. The colors... Not so much. This monitor has a strong yellow hue to it. Even for a TN I expected better. It was noticeable enough that I had to return it. It was too much of a distraction for me. The contrast ratio is washed out. The blacks aren't as black as you'd get in a IPS monitor. The viewing angels are really bad as well. You have to be directly in front of it, even a slight shift down will produce a noticeable gradient of colors. Noticeable light bleed in the one i received. I dont know if it was just my monitor or not, this did not affect my star rating however. I just wanted to note it for you guys. Unless you have a decent gaming rig, go for a 1440p IPS panel instead of this. Even with a 1080ti 4k in some games is still a struggle. I swapped this out for a BEN-Q 1440p display and it hits the sweet spot for resolution and gaming performance. Overall its a decent monitor but did not quite hit the mark on my standards. Hope this helps. Cheers

Great 4K Monitor for a Reasonable Price.

Had this a week now & all I can say is wow!!!! 4K at 60 hertz with HDMI, nice big picture, no back light bleed & no dead pixels. Great, sturdy, flexible stand with no wiggle-jiggle vibration, & rotation 90 degrees. Controls work well. 3 yr. warranty. HDMI, DPI, & USB 3.0 cables included. No complaints up to now. Very impressive. Love it.

Best Monitor I have ever owned

Replaced my 23" LG with this one. I use it both for work and gaming and it excels at both. Sturdy build, easily hooked up, easy to control height and tilt. 3 year warranty I would not hesitate to recommend this monitor to anyone. Ordered it black Friday on sale and it was at my door by 1pm Monday!

Like it overall, but it has issues

I am using this monitor with a late 2015 27" Retina 5K iMac. My iMac has Thunderbolt 2, not Thunderbolt 3, so it can't drive a 5K external display. This first issue isn't the monitor's fault, just something to be aware of. You can set the Mac's high DPI scaling so that the size of items on the screen closely matches the iMac's screen, but the scale multiplier is not perfect so things (text especially) don't look as crisp and pretty as they could. I ended up going up with the "looks like 1920x1080" mode, which is exactly 4x scaling for the native 3840x2160 res of the display. Things are bigger than I'd like, but at least it's pretty. The vertical viewing angle isn't as nice as I'd like it to be. I don't notice most of the time, but if the screen is filled with certain solid colours, you would swear that you were looking at a gradient. The power handling is weird. I also use this monitor with a PC laptop, and I was using the monitor's USB ports. By default, the USB ports are disabled when the monitor sleeps, which means if your keyboard or mouse is plugged into it, you can't wake the computer. You can change that setting, but even then, the keyboard behaves oddly between sleep and wake. I ended up just using the laptop dock's USB port for the keyboard. The other odd power thing is that it doesn't sync well with the iMac. When I wake the iMac, this monitor doesn't power up quickly enough to be acknowledged right away, so I usually get a re-sync after a number of seconds as if I just plugged the monitor in. i.e. My main display goes black and then comes back again. Maybe that's to be expected, though I didn't have that issue with the 1920x1080 monitor I was previously using. This is a "gaming monitor", though I'm not using it as one. Still it seems very odd (and gimmicky) that they have colour presets for different genres of games. Like certain settings are good for all racing games, vs another set for all FPS or RTS/RPG games?

ASUS 28" 4K Ultra HD 1ms LED Gaming Monitor (MG28UQ) review

Great Monitor

I love this Asus line (both the 'business' and 'gaming' editions). They work great, run much cooler than my old Apple Thunderbolt displays, and have great resolution and colour.

Great Monitor but only if you're on Windows

I have a macbook pro and with the right cable/adapter this monitor works just fine. However, I found the resolution to be too high and I found myself staring too close to the screen which caused headaches and eye fatigue. Sadly the monitor didn't support 2560x1440 resolution only HD and 4K (3840 × 2160). I returned this monitor and ordered the Asus PB277Q which is 1" smaller than this one but it has 2560x1440 native resolution.

First 5 minutes using it: Noticed a dead pixel + horrible brightness + could NOT find a good setting. I returned it the same day and exchanged it at Rosemere (staff was great). Second time using: I realized I got a lemon the first time. I was "AWED" how beautiful the colors were popping and how sharp everything was using my Xbox One S and PS4 PRO. Playing games like Uncharted 4, The last of us in 4k, Gears of War 4 (60 fps) and watching Netflix and Youtube in 4k is AMAZING. Great monitor, worth the price with the discount. Please note: HDMI #1 is the only port that plays 60hz (HDMI 2-3 = 30hz).

good gaming monitor

I like this monitor very much but I wish it had a remote instead of having to get up to turn the monitor on I use a monitor instead of a tv so it sucks but the monitor itself is good overall worth buying.

Great monitor for console gaming

Bought this monitor to pair up with my ps4 pro. For the price its a great entry 4k monitor. It is a tn panel but the colors are great from the games ive tried. Light bleed from the screen is minimal on mine but some screens can be worst then others. Great thing with asus is they offer a 3 year warranty with quick replacement service so big plus in my books. Dont expect the best sound from the onboard speakers but they are descent for what they are. I run a quality headset when i want better sound output. It does have a hdmi 2.0 connection so u can take advantage of playing 4k at 60hz/60fps. Response time / input lag with this screen is top notch for my skill level in fps games so no worries there. The weak part of the screen is the back plate behind the monitor stand that hold the wires, it seems to break off easy, but a quick glue job can fix that. The stand is pretty heavy with tons of adjustability which i found nice to line up the screen to proper eye level.

good lookin monitor

Looks better than most monitors to bad it doesn't have a remote with it to switch between what you want instead of using the red control switch in the back of it if your using it for movies and such.

This is a real 4k Gaming Monitor. The best upgrade to your gaming experience

The best 4k gaming monitor you can buy and the best upgrade to your gaming experience. From the minute you plug this in, you can feel how fast is and you will NEVER go back to slow monitors or even TV. U really have to experience it. Pro - Reminder this is a gaming monitor. Asus build quality,3840x2160p@60hz on both dp1.2, hdmi 2.0, lowest input lag(around 9ms), 1ms response time(insane!) usb3 hub to plug extras and charging capabilities, height adjust and orientation change, internal power supply(no power brick) GamePlus features, nice colours(for TN), bought it on sale!!! Cons - I was trying to find something:( But not much 2w speakers are a joke, but if you got a computer to run 4k sure you got headphones or proper speakers with subwoofer. Colour shift after 45degrees.

great entry into 4k gaming

pros: 1ms response height adjust, pivot and rotating stand ASUS warranty 3840x2160 @ 60hz right out of the box when using the supplied displayport cable (no need to switch to DP 1.2 mode) cons: TN panel freesync picked up this monitor on the black friday sale and it was totally worth the purchase. keep in mind this is a gaming oriented monitor. with the TN panel, don't expect to be blown away when watching movies. you must also have an AMD video card to take advantage of the freesync capibilities. this monitor will serve you well if you plan to connect the new ps4 pro/xbox one s or the upcoming xbox one scorpio

  • from

Awesome value...would be perfext if it was IPS

Got this on a Black Friday deal. Love everything about it but wished it was an IPS panel instead of TN. Can't really utilize the freesync as I'm on team green. Great 4K monitor if found on sale.

  • from Ottawa

Five star monitor very cool

Very cool monitor tilts so you can get to the back of the monitor a lot easyer then a normal monitor it has a nice little red control knob in the back to control all the options that you like very simple to use. It has a really sharp detailed look to it makes you feel like your in the game and not in some boring game.
