I upgraded from a ASUS RT-AC6 no issues just need more featuires and this one had it all. Easy setup less then 5 mins to setup and get connected Lan & Wan 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz. Not sure what others are talking about confusing and hard to setup. Try callinf ASUS support. This is the reason I continue to buy their routers. I have called them for support even after the warranty and they assist you. The issue I called them for have never been issues with the product but with the ISP I use. The reason the lights may go out is due to someone hitting the Front buttons. I did this once and figured out by looking at the manual. Got mine for 199.99 on sale. Great deal.

Wrote a previous review though it wasn't posted. No idea why. I purchased this unit in early December. It had trouble connecting to my remote speaker. Meaning it couldn't. After cycling the power for the first time after the original setup, the 5Ghz light went out and the capability disappeared. Short review: avoid.

  • Solid Router

I am surprised to see so many people having issues with this device. I have had nothing but a solid performance from this router for over a year. It is located in my basement and I can get between 30 Mbps and the full 150 Mbps internet speed on my second floor (only the bonus room over the garage drops as low as 30). It's a great performer and easy to use - I'd highly recommend giving it a try. I sometimes wonder if local interference can affect devices in different ways. I had bandwidth, range and connection issues with my LinkSys AC2600 (a highly rated device). Yet when I placed in it into a corporate environment as a loaner for a few weeks there were no problems whatsoever. The ASUS works well for me at home and I have no regrets with my purchase.
