Fabulous desktop when on sale

Bought this desktop very recently while it was on sale - I would not have been able to pay full price for it, but when on sale it's quite a nice little desktop. It is quite speedy, and comes with beautiful visuals (this is the first system I've been able to play Dark Souls on with particle affects - some minor lag with anti-aliasing and motion blur, but even the PS3 had that). Had to manually switch where most information was saving, as the hard drive is on the D drive with a 2TB slot, as well as a much smaller C drive. Most programs automatically try to install themselves on the C-drive, but making sure to save on the D-Drive has ensured it all goes smoothly. Pros: - Solid visuals and processor for gaming. 8 GB RAM is basically standard for today's gamers, though more would have been forward thinking. - Well rounded prebuilt system - sale price makes it a great purchase for a gamer on a budget - Not noisy - Comes with built-in wifi - Quick set-up, and only a bit of time needed to take off and replace junkware (e.g. ASUS apps, game apps, McAfee) Cons: - Built in wifi drops signal easily (typical for desktops, but would be fine with ethernet or possibly an wifi repeater in the room - larger harddrive is not already the C-drive, easy to work around - Windows 10 as an OS is -shrug-. Would have strongly preferred Windows 8.

Got it on sale last year, no issues. Love this computer

Excellent starter gaming PC. Few issues.

I bought this as a secondary gaming pc back in June 2017, Right when I got it I upgraded its ram to 16gb and installed a DVD writer. (which didnt cause any issues incase you were wondering) Within a few months of purchase I was getting *Thread Stuck in Device Driver* EVERYTIME I loaded a game, The game could be as small as a rom game and it would crash. Fan would sound like it was working overtime, CPU usage would skyrocket, Would make the loudest sounds, even if I was just watching twitch or an HD youtube video would legit sound like it was struggling. Spoke to ASUS even though I voided my warranty by removing the panel before the first year and they were dead set it was a windows 10 issue. then it was my drivers, then they said it was a power problem... etc.. etc.. luckily for me after MONTHS of this issue constantly occurring I stumbled across a forum where it seemed an overwhelmingly number of AMD users specifically A10 processor users were having the exact same issue, however the solution was different for some people but to anyone having this issue REMOVE AMD HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO DEVICE / Replace it with Realtek . Also the bios was out of date on my pc. Make sure to check yours, it can cause a lot of issues running windows 10 on an outdated bios. I tested this before removing AMD Audio completely for a month disabled and have had ZERO issues. Realtek will remove it for you to make it easier. hardly makes a sound now, even playing Warframe online at Medium to High Graphics. (when before it would be as loud as a train) Now to the PC review after this issue. I can pretty much play any game that doesn't require more then 1gb of graphics space, watch your ram though, I upgraded to 16gb. that being said it leaves you a huge window of games to play, I only use this PC for Cities Skylines, Flight simulator, Minecraft (fully modded), Saints Row series. Warframe, All those games came be run on Medium-High , Ultra-high etc your looking at a bit of lag, same with Anti aliasing too high and you'll see a decline in speed. But overall issues aside im happy. inside is a space for a graphics card for PCIX-16 slot. Also Ive seen the pc go up to 3.79ghz at times but their is no *overclock* or *accelerator* setting at all... Also its not listed anywhere but the graphics card is a Radeon 7 260x 1gb. Perfect starting gaming pc in my opinion and perfect plug and play. Will keep upgrading it.

Fast and Compact

I purchased this computer in September and I have been very happy with the performance of the computer. It is a very compact computer so it does not use a lot of space up but does not provide much space on your motherboard to install something on your open X16 slot. I did manage to install a gtx 1050 mini and it did fit but anything bigger will not. The cpu fan is quiet on idle but as many other reviews say it does become quite loud when pushing your cpu to 100%. I have yet to have any problems with the fan so far but depending on your use you may have to replace it. Overall a pretty quality computer with a powerful Bluetooth adapter and tons of hard drive space.

M32 version with 12 GB ram

Had this PC for over a year. The fan went bad after 6 months. Otherwise the PC runs well and i have no other complaints. It is best used for Microsoft Office , YouTube, and non gaming apps.

good for the price

Looking at the negative reviews I still bought the product due to Asus being a quality builder of components, As to the statements regarding the creator upgrade, I can only state it installed without error. Further claims of a soldered CPU are also inaccurate. It is a shame reviews are so inaccurate. I have long term experience with computer hardware and feel this system is good value.

Good until it's not

The desktop I know and love is way outside of my budget, so I bought an entry factory made desktop like this one. The first one I got had fan issues, just began making grinding noises. I then took it to the store, had it replaced. And now for the first time in 6 months. This Piece of s___ decides to start grinding its gears. Not worth my time, effort and money. I would steer away from this if I were you. The price seems good for the specs, but the quality is horrible.

incompatible with win 10

so just bought this machine within last coupe weeks. notic reg cost keeps changing along with the sale reg was 599, now you say its more. now it shows 529, 170 buck savings..i paid 525 with tax inc last week, reg cost then was 599. how does reg cost ris like that? anyways. pain in but to set up with all the updates. now i find ot asus machines wont run the latest update from win 10 of their creator eition. mine keeps failng. an look on asus web site says it wont run it. so now i have a brand new machine, that wont run the latest software, kinda useless. according to asus web page thy say anniversary edition is the last one that works properly. people may want to rethink buying this if you intend yo be current on software updates

Not worth a dime...

Don't buy this machine, total waste of money. So noisy, it's not even funny. If you open 2 or 3 apps at same time, CPU usage and memory go up the roof. Bought it on sale, which is the only positive thing about it...

  • from Maniwaki, QC

A total piece of crap

This is by far the worst computer I've ever bought... Total waste of money. So noisy, it's just pathetic. Can't handle the simpliest of tasks without spinning and making weird sounds. You open Chrome and a few other apps and the cpu and memory go up to near 100%, spins and spins, and noise and noise. Dammit, what a waste of money.

Perfect with a few tweaks.

I've been a builder of custom PCs for years now. After realizing that I no longer need that power, I picked up this Asus and gave it a go. This tower had its own shortcomings right out of the box but with a few upgrades has come to be the perfect family PC. First off, the DVD drive is not a burner, easily fixed with a BD swap from my old tower. There are two open SATA ports to expand HAD capability and even though it's only a 350w power supply, it's working without trouble. A clean install of the OS via Microsoft Media Creation Tool removes all the bloatware installed and leaves a clean copy of Windows 10 Home installed. The CD key is built into the motherboard so it will install the proper version and you don't need a separate license. If you want this tower without all the tinkering, it is absolutely fine in it's stock form as a basic home device and fits the right price point for it on sale.

asus com has a power switch problem

u have to press it dozens of times to turn it on. At first, I left the repair to the Best Buy. However, it was not fixed. I left it again, and I have not heard from BB over three weeks.

Good for the price

I am really happy with my purchase of this tower. It only comes with a dvd rom so I had to put in a dvd burner and I added another 2 tb hard drive and it still works flawlessly even with the extra power for the other hd. The wired internet is super fast and it hooks up to all my Bluetooth stuff with it's built in Bluetooth receiver. It is also able to get the ram increased as well as there is still 2 slots for ram chips.

Never Again, Asus

If you are considering an Asus computer, please hear my experience with Asus. I bought a "high" end Asus in January. When it arrived, it was DOA! (Through the vents I could see a RAM card sitting loose on the bottom of the case.) I returned it and got another. It arrived - DOA!!! This time, both RAM cards could be seen loose at the bottom of the case. Returned this one too. Hoping for 3rd-time-lucky, I got another. This one did boot, but performance was horrible. After a month putting up with it (and loading programs, data, and doing configs), I investigated deeper - and found that it did not have a functioning SSD as I had paid for. The elapsed month prevented me from returning it to vendor - I had to deal with Asus. Aaagghhh!! Over the next week, I spent over 10 hours with at least 6 Asus support people. Generally, they were disinterested and ineffective. Twice I spoke to supervisors, who were equally disinterested in helping. After 3 defective Asus PCs, and almost 5 months dealing with Asus, I was asked to return the PC across the country. They said they would repair it. Another 4-6 weeks. I bought this in January 2017. I've had 3 defective PCs. I'm sending it back again. The best I can hope for is to have a working PC by July 2017. And I'm not confident that Asus will deliver then.

Very very good!

I just bought this May 25 and I love it! It's so much faster than any other computer I have ever purchased. Video Editing is a breeze with this system. It can even handle 4K without any issue! I very highly recommend this system. for the price it's well worth it. Asus is a great brand too top quality all the way!

It has crashed on from basic use

I have gone through 3 of these machines and I have found that the model has crashed on set up twice and when in use the computer can not handle more than a low intensive game and a browser.

Good Value On Sale

I didn't realize that this computer came with a mouse and a keyboard so it's a better value than I originally thought. I purchased it on sale and I don't think it was worth the full price as it is a little bit slow and after a full week of using it, it's started slowing down a bit more. I'm not a gamer (at all) and have transferred very few files to the hard drive so that tells you that if you're looking for a fast gaming computer or just a super fast computer, you might be better to look elsewhere. But if you're like me, looking for a stable home computer for average household use, this seems to be a good choice. One thing I will say, it did not come loaded with Windows so it's going to be a pain the butt to have to load a word processing and spreadsheet program on it. But that\s not an ASUS issue, that's Microsoft being Microsoft.

Noisy CPU fan

CPU fan developed noise within first year. Replaced with same P/N. Works well for everyday use.
