Awesome!!

Great laptop! The screen is great, handles games easily, and fast. One of the best gaming laptops on the market IMO. Works great as a portable workstation.

So far so good with one problem

Everything for me is going good so far but when I use the Laptop while charging, the charging speed can't catch up to the battery usage. It even says (Plugged in, not charging) when I hover over the battery sign.

Great Laptop

I purchased this laptop about month ago and have had no issues with it. It is very fast and easy to use. The keyboard lights up in the dark which makes it easy to use.

Dont buy insurance until they give you all the details

I bought the computer for my son. They convinced me to buy the accidental damage insurance, but I don't know what I bought. They gave me no documentation (just a very general geek squad brochure). Learn from my mistake and ask for full documentation before you buy anything.

Not a gaming laptop

Purchased this as a portable workstation (not for gaming). However, Strikefire score with default settings (nvidia enabled) is worse than an overclocked 950 GTX on an 8 year old LGA 775 PC running Windows 7! Haven't encountered any of the problems described in other reviews (so far) but it is plastic and is a fingerprint/smudge magnet. You get what you pay for.

Overall bad!

After two weeks laptop started freezing. The batteries are built in so if you use laptop while connected to power, it will die. The batteries have a very short life 2 hours while just browsing. The laptop is very heavy. I knew some of the drawbacks while purchasing like its heavy weight and short battery life. I needed a very fast and powerful processor at the same time I needed portability, this was the only i7 quad-core 7700HQ in the market when I bought it. I just did not expect it to freeze like this!

Do not buy!

Would give a zero if I could! Do not buy worst purchase every. One month into owning would just start to shut down anytime i adjusted the screen, picked it up or someone even nudge the desk I would working on. Called customer serves at ASUS. All they would was tell me to ship it in the be repair and nothing else. What company expects you to purchase a product brand new and when it stops working almost initiatedly after purchase to have to send it in for repairs. They refused to replace there defaulty broken product and said the will replace parts if needed. So I got to pay full price for a refurbished computer. Not to mention who knows what will happens when my warranty is up! What a joke when my Apple computer broke and was under warranty I would walk into the store and walk out with a brand new working model. This will be the first and last Asus product I ever buy.

Not What I Was Expecting

This laptop was not what I was expecting. The graphics, keys, and design were awesome. But my laptop froze on the first day I tried to use it; the keyboard deck was flimsy and flexed if I pressed a little harder; the sound was disappointing; the touch pad was not very responsive - felt like there was a delay; it's loud when running something that needs a bit more CPU power; and there is a lot of bloatware causing it to start and load everything slowly (I was told when I returned it).

There haven't been any issues yet. It's powerful, the screen is so much more better than my old laptop. Plus that backlit keyboard :D

Good Laptop

Good Laptop. the screen is really awesome compared to other laptops in this price point. Optical drive in 2017 is not useful. Would have preferred additional cooling or battery. Overall its really good. .Except those draw backs.

Not bad

pros: - good for gaming - good design - good price for its specs cons: - low battery life, doesn't even last 2 hours while web surfing/watching video - loud - republic of gamers (other people might see you as a weirdo) I have used it for 2~3 days. I value battery life and noise a lot so I am going to return this one and buy either acer or dell
