ASUS ROG Strix Gaming Laptop

This laptop is top quality and has an incredible graphics card that enhances all aspects of another laptop on the market. The resolution is top of the line plus the Intel I7 processor makes this laptop go fast and impacts the performance. If anyone was to buy a gaming laptop, or any laptop, I recommend to purchase any ASUS gaming laptop this would be the one to buy. The price might be a little up but the quality is unbeatable.

So far, it's a great laptop, and I find no problems. A fully customizable keyboard, etc. BUY IT.

Great performance and quality

I don't understand the negative reviews of this laptop. Is it absolutely top of the line? No. Is it an extremely solid, well built, and excellent performing gaming laptop? Hell yes. The screen on this thing, while not 4K, is gorgeous. Great contrast, viewing angles, and colour depth. Powered by an Nvidia 1050Ti, it has enough horsepower to chew through most mid-to-high end games on high settings (bleeding edge games will probably need to be turned down to mid-to-high to maintain framerate). The CPU is a powerhouse, the storage is ample and snappy. I also love the keyboard on this thing; great travel distance and tactility. All that aside, of the 17 inch laptops available on the market, this felt the most portable to me. The form factor is quite sleek compared to other comparable 17 inch laptops, and the weight isn't too excessive. All in all, this is a very high quality gaming machine that should satisfy even the most demanding enthusiast.

I bought this laptop because it looked very cool and everyone recommended it. But I get it and it was not working so i had to get the MOTHERBOARD replaced. But it still does not work 100% properly.

Almost $2000 paper weight

Bought computer, took it home and started first start up at about 6pm, 11am the next morning, I'm still curious of what the home screen may look like as this thing , 16-17 hours after plugging in, it will NOT boot up.

Constant freezing

the amount of times this laptop froze in the middle of a video or just idle just isn't worth almost 2 grand

Don't waste your time with this product

I bought this laptop a little while ago. I barley used it and it already started with motherboard issues. i had to ship it to ASUS three times before they were actually willing to replace the motherboard. The the amount of money this laptop costs, it should portray quality. But it didn't

I wasted hours driving to your Best Buy for them to tell me it runs VR only to waste 2 hours turning on the computer and finding out it won’t run VR. Now to waste 3 more hours of driving to return it. Please teach your employees about your products you sell and thanks for wasting 8 hours of my life.

Not VR Ready - Specs Wrong

I purchased this computer as an open box and found that Windows 10 was not installed correctly and I spent hours on phone with Microsoft support. Once that was sorted out, I found that the computer was not VR ready as Oculus Rift headset could not be driven from HDMI port. Asus Tech support confirmed that it was not VR ready and I observe that Asus and Best Buy list different computers as VR ready. I simply don't trust VR readiness info supplied by Best Buy and I am concerned that though I reported this to them 10 days ago, Best Buy still has incorrect info on the website. I was under the impression that Yonge/Eglinton Toronto store manager would call me back. That has not happened.

Decent laptop

This laptop is faster than most but the graphics can be choppy at times. It also doesn't have enough usb ports. All in all, i am happy with it.

Good Laptop - Low Rating Is Not Justified

Is it perfect? No, but it is very good for almost anything you throw at it. This is the second ASUS I have owned after moving from higher powered HP laptops in the past. I bought my first ASUS in July 2012 and it has ran flawlessly for 5 years without doing anything to it, literally nothing. Barely dust or clean it and never performed a fresh install or upgraded to Windows 10. Complaining about a small SSD makes no sense and 50% of the drive is still available if files are stored on the 1TB drive. Any computer has the risk of DOA out of the box so those ratings should not count either. If you factor out the pointless bad reviews and go by the valid reviews that actually evaluate the product, it scores a about 4.5 stars and is more accurate.

Impressive but ..

This is the 7th laptop I have tried in a 3 month span. I have done my research, and come to find this one is worth talking about. It packs a good punch for its value, graphics, cooling system, specs, all are top notch and I love how it handles all the software I am throwing at it, and how it handles gaming and editing software ....but... and yes... its a big one...most will not notice it unless you look for it, This is the 3rd model that has a backlight bleed, so I did a bit more reading and found that ASUS has had this issue dating back as far back as 2015 from some of the blogs I have read. That in itself is a bit discouraging, as I am really happy with the overall quality of hardware other than its monitor. With that said, I will contact the manufacture directly, see what they offer,,or I will continue my search and not chance keeping this model in case the bleed gets worse after its warranty is up, (there is a good chance, the company will not replace or fix- as they obviously have known about this for quiet some time, and continue to come out with newer models and upgrades, but not change its monitor supplier. *sigh

Best Gaming Laptop I've Ever Owned!

Pros: -Amazing Performance in GTA V (TBH, it's the only game I play). -Amazing Screen Quality (1080p IPS, Not a hint of backlight bleed on mine). -Amazing Speakers (Better than I ever expected). -Customizable RGB Keyboard (Looks/Feels Amazing). -Great Build Quality. -Cool Orange Lights on the Brushed Aluminum Lid. -Boots up almost instantaneously. -FAST!!!!!! Cons: -Price was a little high (Got the 4-year Geek Squad Protection as well), but IMO it was very much worth it. Best Laptop I've ever owned!

To small fo a SSD

Bought this one , but returned it due to the fact that 128 gig is too small of a operating system drive even with the bulk "D" drive being 1 TB. Brand new I install Microsoft office and was already down to 50gig free space on the SSD. (C:).

Asus ROG Strix GL753VE

Pros: Gaming (Runs GTA V at 80-90fps at very high settings) - 10/10 Display - 10/10 Looks/Customizable Keyboard - 10/10 Cooling - 10/10 Everything Else except battery - 10/10 Cons: Battery - 6/10 (only lasts about 1-2 hours, but I play with it on charge anyways) Overall, it's a 5 star in my book!

Best Laptop I've ever used!

Bought this laptop about a week ago, and already it's amazing! Looks amazing, performance is amazing, fans cool it very well! Runs GTA V at 80-90fps on very high settings with all battery saving precautions and settings off, and plugged in. Keyboard is RGB and feels great, and the IPS display is stunning! The only small thing I can find that could be better is the battery. At 48wh, it only lasts about an hour on games, and 1 hour 30 mins on web browsing. But that still doesn't affect my opinion, as I always have it plugged in when gaming anyways, as it gets much better performance and lasts all day!

Bad OS on the Laptop.

Ordered this laptop online for my partner since I have an ASUS ROG laptop and love it, thought he would love one too. This particular one was a reasonable price with nice enough specs for gaming so I ordered it for him and waited for it's arrival. When my partner got home from working out of town, he opened it up and loved it before he even had a chance to get it plugged in and set up. He happily performed all the installations needed and then got ready to play.... which was fine for a bit.... and then he got a blue screen. Critical Error due to the OS. He called ASUS Tech Support to help him out, they had him do a restore on it which ultimately failed and resulted in the restore booting him into the BIOS. So, right now, he's in the process of returning this to Best Buy. I don't know what we'll be getting as a replacement but I can't say I recommend this particular model to others to buy. I get that it's an OS issue but how many of these models got sent to stores for sale in this condition??? I think that's pretty shoddy quality control and it should've been checked for errors prior to boxing it up.

Good Laptop, bad battery life

The Laptop is pretty sweet if you prefer to stay connected to the charging cable as the battery life is about 1 hour. Overall for the price this is good deal, just expected it to have a better battery life and a smother finish.

Excellent laptop but, the screen could be better. For this, rate 4.

Purchased this computer specifically for Audio and Video editing and some gaming, very little. So far I have had no problems what so ever ( touch wood ). The graphics card in this puppy makes everything flawless, it seems to tackle anything I give it. The audio however is pretty basic but clean, and Cortana is a joy to work with as well.

So Far So Great

I have had this computer for a week. I like it. It took me almost a day to get rid of all the Windows 10 privacy stealing junk but other than that it is pretty awesome. I left all the Asus bloatware on there because I am not sure what is beneficial and what is data-mining. So with Comodo installed, I just research all the little things that try to contact the internet and block most. So far for video editing it has been pretty awesome. I think the biggest cons for me are: REALLY picks up fingerprints. Does nto one think about this. After a week it looks like a little kid ate a grilled cheese and went ham on it. I thought it would boot faster, it is pretty fast....but I thought faster. The single biggest thing that drives me crazy is typing...I am not sure why but I constantly hit the \ when I am trying to hit enter. I have probably done this 80 times. I have not ever done this before. Keep in mind that I have small hands for the most part. But it is mighty fast. Looks great (I have had about 20 different people say that) and all around I am pretty impressed. It has only been a week though so I will update this (if possible) in a month or so.
