One word: Amazing

This router is amazing. I picked it up on sale since the router Rogers provided (Hitron CODA 4582) was HORRIBLE! I was wondering why my internet was so bad and I kept blaming Rogers. I have gigabit internet but was only getting around 200 mbps if I was real close. The best choice I made was buying this router. I have it set up in the basement (not ideal but I do not want to drill a hole in my floor) and WOW,even on the 2nd floor of my home I still get almost 500 mbps!I get amazing coverage all over my home and amazing speeds that I pay for but would've never gotten through the Hitron. The app is also a great added bonus which makes updates and set up a breeze. You have the ability to restrict internet access and speeds to certain devices as well as much more. Should be noted my house is also not small, at around 3300 sqft I was looking at mesh options. But with this router that is not necessary! I am very pleased. Asus has a customer for life, I will never use a plain old router ever again!

Rock Solid Router

The range on this routers wifi is not bad for medium sized homes. It runs flawlessly and when on sale is a steal. Buy 2 and you can set up a nice AI Mesh system. For those that complain that AI Mesh sucks it's probably because they are using a wireless backhaul. Try running an ethernet backhaul between each router. If that's not possible you try running an ethernet backhaul through powerline networking or moca.

Fast and Easy

Setup took minutes with 0 issues, settings are feature-rich and simple to use, range and speeds are great.

Not good for AiMesh (extender)

Bought this to use the AiMesh feature with existing Asus router, but it sucked. Kept dropping the node and no way to shut off the 5Ghz signal. Had to return.

Great wifi router

After having this unit in a rural county and using LTE internet it downloads large amounts of data in a timely fashion. I'm sure in a high speed setting it will do even better!!

After having another router that I could not set up I bought an ASUS and set it up in minutes. All computers, i pads, and TV's and two printers connected in a snap using WPS. Signal strength is the same as my old D-link on both channels and range covers hole house. PS. used manual setup six steps done.

Didn't boost the signal one bit.

Bought this because my TV in the basement kept buffering and freezing Google Play movies and Youtube cuz the Cogeco box is on the top floor and apparently the signal isn't strong enough. Plugged in this 1900 router, did the set up, phone app, Web app.... no difference. So Asus phone tech support had me change up all the settings again (stuff not in any of the set up books) ... and still nothing. Phew! When a router can't even buffer Youtube through two Bungalow floors of plywood and 2x4s you KNOW something is wrong. At that point Tech support didn't even bother offering help and said .. return it. What a waste of an afternoon.

Great for the price

Purchased this to replace my older Linkedin, surprisingly it costs less, and seems to have much better performance. My Internet package is 12 mbs, but with this router, my download speeds seems to be consistent at around 25 mbs, definitely boosts wi-fi performance a lot. I've purchased a lot of D-Link, Linkseys, and Linkedin's in the past few years, and this definitely blows them all away :)

Great router, it's the AC68U improved

This one is awesome, with lots of easy to user features right on the stock (default) ASUS firmware - note that ASUS now equip their router with the very well known "ASUS-WRT" firmware system, which offers super easy to use interface to manage, optimize and get the most of the router. I'm even using the integrated Built-in VPN client to get more secure for all my devices that are behind that router. Hint : with an ISP cable or DSL modem, you can either use a non-Wifi modem, or deactivate the ISP modem's Wifi, and just use the router for your home => you'll get the best of the best in Wifi, and Internet speed !

Easy setup (No CD required). Extended my reach in the whole house, I used to have a D-Link N300 and I had major issues with Streaming videos and downloading, the QoS engine on the D-Link was outdated and the interface was very dated. QoS engine on the Asus, allowed me to restrict Download speeds on certain devices and therefor make the internet usage more enjoyable for others. All in all love it and would definitely recommend.

Best router I ever owned. Dark knight on steroids

Flawless router. Kong ac build 33770m of ddwrt runs like a hot knife through butter. Downloading 8MB/sec on torrent 4 people streaming over the samba share off the USB 3 HDD. Have optware installed and downloading some torrents through transmission. Makes me want to get the ac86u for more power but do I really need it? Of course ha. This router flies won't be disappointed. Got on sale a week ago for 149.00 would have paid full price for it though.

Excellent Router

Wireless coverage is miles better than the one provided by Bell; I didn't realize until afterwards that the router needs to be connected from one of the LAN ports of Bell's Modem (instead of the WAN port), but once I figured out the issue, everything else was a breeze. am totally satisfied with my purchase!

Excellent for price

I bought it 2 weeks ago, it's fast and has good coverage

Excellent product

Best router I've owned - with a shaw high-speed internet connection I get over 150 Mbps on regular basis, with about 140 Mbps on wireless on a house on 3 levels. It accepts passwords of 63 characters for the router login as well as for the wireless (use a password manager - hint - like lastpass) - with wpa2 - very secure It allows you to have several regular/guest networks setup (for guests or for IoT - hint) Dual band 2.4 and 5Ghz beamed works fantastic - I keep the router in the basement and it hits all the way up to the second floor.

Reliable and Speedy

This is the so far the best router I own. 1.4GHz dual core and you can flash firmware to Asus-Merlin for better experience. Excellent Range!!

Solid, Reliable, Great Features

I have a 1,800 sq ft home and because of my cable internet, I'm limited to setting up my router in the far corner of the basement. I was having range issues on the second floor and opposite corner of the main floor, until I bought this router. There is a LOT of concrete in my home, lots of walls and appliances, but I still get 95% of my internet speed at the furthest corner of my home with this router. I haven't setup the media server yet, but will be soon. Even so, the user interface is more advanced than what Linksys offers, but still easy to use. Very sturdy router with great range capabilities.

  • from Toronto, ON

One of the best rated routers out there.

Great signal, lots of range, you can customize its firmware (just know what you are getting yourself into before you do that)

  • from Mississauga, ON

Parental control works great!

I just love this router. I used to use d-link wifi extender with my hiron router but not anymore... signal is strong . love their backend admin... easy to setup and control... parental control is superb. Not only that I may control access time for my kid I also can control content and prevent messaging that is definitely ruining our kids lifes. at the end just to add that I may automatically shutdown wifi from 12 midnight till 6am so it doesn't affect our sleep time in any way... it is worth every single penny... thank you asus

  • from Vancouver, BC
