  • Good budget gaming laptop
    Reviewed by Droc - May 7, 2021

First and foremost, if you're looking for this laptop to be comparable to a high end desktop, you're in the wrong place. It has a 4 core processor and the low power equivalent of a 3070, which is one of the slower 3070's on the market. That being said, dollar for dollar it is a 1080p powerhouse. I've tried multiple AAA titles, including Control with Ray Tracing and all other setting maxed and it ran a solid 70+ fps with DLSS off and 80-100 with it on. It gets a little warm at times, which is to be expected. It's can also get loud at times, which again is to be expected. Even with the low power variants, you're still cramming a ton of heat producing tech in a small space. They all do it. Some of the better cooling pads can help it move air better and reduce the temps/noise. The expandability it decent. It has an extra sport for a m.2 drive. All in all, it's a great buy, especially with desktop components priced the way they are. Is it the best one on the market? Not even close. Is it excellent value for what you pay? Absolutely.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

  • Steep cost for unreliability
    Reviewed by CursedLaptop - June 9, 2021

This is the worst laptop I've ever owned with the best specs and highest price. It started randomly restarting after 1 month. Sometimes it refuses to wake up from sleep. Memory tests fine. No apparent heat problem. Recurring issues but unreproducible. ASUS explicitly uninterested in helping. Going to have to avoid their name in the future. Heck, avoid Best Buy too. They've worked in tandem to bring you this exclusive model of putrescent garbage. Would you like a laptop that might hard reset unpredictably in the middle of anything you're doing? This one's for you, all it takes is a few grand!

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

  • BUy graphic card and get a labtop for free
    Reviewed by Tommie27197 - June 18, 2021

Just as I said above. I would give it 3 stars but the rtx 3070 makes it 4 stars. It is really hard to get a 3070 labtop like this. The performance is good, 80-85watts 3070. Great battery life. A free m.2 ssd slot to upgrade. The only thing that is bad is this screen, after I compare with macbook pro i realize how terrible this screen is. 144hz would make up for it a little bit. A good choice for people that want a rtx labtop with cheap price. I saw some videos that there will be a 11800H + 3070 version so stay tuned.

  • The Asus Trap
    Reviewed by Xii-Nyth - April 20, 2021

Whenever there a a cheaper variant of something, asus finds a way to cripple it so you have to buy the more expensive one. In this case this screen is 144 hz instead of 240, sound fine right? Save 200$ for a few useless hz? Well it has an abysmal 62% sRGB coverage, so 45% of a good colour gamut like dciP3 or adobe RGB. Get the 240 hz one instead, or if you are reading this in a year this may not be the cheapest laptop with a 3070 anymore. Or you might be able to replace the screen if you know how.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

  • Based on May 2021 market, it is good laptop
    Reviewed by MHLKP - May 16, 2021

It is not open-box like it from other sellers (suspicious that they used for the coin-mining). It is Thin and light in the gaming laptop category. Underperforming RTX however it is still RTX 3000 series. It is underperforming for battery life. If you are a hardcore gamer, You will know how to overclock it so it is not the negative point. For a regular user who plays or intention to play the games, avoid 3060 and get 3070 since it will be very difficult for you to overclock it. Some reviewers said it performs like GTX 1650 or 1660 but it will be better to ignore them. RTX is RTX, not GTX. Do not underestimate Ray Tracing. If you can get a great discount on GTX 1660 Ti, go for it however this laptop doesn't offer that downgrade option. For a hardcore, be prepare for the heat. it will go up very high. Plus. the battery will die very soon as well. (However, almost all laptop battery is useless and the heat is inevitable when you are hardcore user anyway) At least, it is not 14 nm. SSD is not fast enough to call it is high-end or gaming laptop but it has an extra slot to add a faster SSD. however, it is maxed on Gen 3.0 so I recommend 970 Evo Plus or SN750. Don't choose the 1TB option for extra for an extra $500. you can get $400 (or less) for 2TB 970 Evo Plus or SN 750. Intel i7-11370H has only 4 cores and 8 threads. Single-core performing wise it is very good however they could use AMD Ryzen 7, at least option to upgrade 11375H. The true downside of this laptop is the RAM. 8GB is built-in somewhere that it is not allowed to upgrade unless you are the technician (If you change the built-in RAM, I am 100% sure that you will lose the warranty from the manufacturer). You can replace the one with 8GB RAM. however, if you want to max out 32GB as the motherboard allowed, you have to replace it with 32GB RAM. (Which it will waste your built-in 8 GB. If they are wise, they need to make it as 16GB as built-in and leave the slot as extra for the upgrade) Pro: Based on May 2021 market, It is a very reasonable price to purchase as brand new. Overall, it is a very good choice that you don't have to overpay and/or be on the waiting list to get RTX 3000 series. Extra $200 to replace it from 3060 to 3070. The display is 144Hz. Con: not for multi-core user, Built-in 8GB RAM is not acceptable at this level, replacing SSD from 512GB to 1TB cost you $500, No option to replace 11Gen i7 to Ryzen 7. The display is FHD with 1920x1080 (For me, I am going to use a second monitor so it is not the negative point but you don't have an extra monitor, it is a con)

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
