Worth it only if its on sale

Had it for a year, works fine as is for normal day to day use. Roomy case so it can be upgraded easily, just swap out the 300w psu if you're using anything thats gonna take more juice.

impressive computer

great PC got it on sale, runs soo smooth, added a Asus gtx1060 6gb and runs like a charm, can play all games at max settings with 60fps with no issues what so ever even added 8 more gb of ram, only game i couldn't play at max so far was PUBG but normaly that game is badly optimized so it runs medium settings at 60fps, runs all programs smoothly, not only i got this PC for gaming but also for school which the programs i use like 3ds max, unity and photoshop but overall an impressive PC, Love Asus great brand.

I had mine about 6 months now. I love it! Start up super fast, I don't find it noisy(its a tower, if you want quiet don't buy the tank!), does everything I wanted it to, very pleased!

Makes a good gaming computer with some modifications

Got this on sale for 499.00 on sale. Added a Geforce 1050 2gb card. Works with 95% of games max/almost max settings ( Crysis series, GTA5, Witcher 3, Black Desert, etc) at 60fps or close to 60fps. No lag whatsoever when recording or streaming either, which I was pleasantly surprised. Tried adding an additional 4gb DDR4 1600Mhz (2x2GB) ram. Started up fine after adding the additional ram, but after a few minutes in game (Tried on Guild Wars 2 and Batman: Arkham Knight), computer would freeze. Thought the stats were the exact same but might be incompatible. That was the only problem I experienced. Otherwise solid PC, especially for that price tag.

The problem with reviews...

The problem with reviews online for things like this is that the average person will not leave reviews for the things they buy. Such is the case with this computer. This computer is absolutely fine, there's nothing wrong with it. It serves every purpose I bought it for, and for that I feel like I've gotten my money's worth. However, the problem is that nobody is compelled to leave a review for something that isn't downright bad, but isn't incredible. I'll admit I was skeptical when I saw the reviews for this product, but I'm happy that I went with my gut and bought it. ASUS will sell a couple thousand of these units, but the very few people who have horrific experiences with this product will be compelled to leave a negative review. The truth is, this computer works fine, and it will as well for the other couple thousand people who buy it. But those couple thousand people won't leave a review for this, which is why this product has an inflated negative score. Don't listen to the other negative reviews, and instead read this, and if you feel like this computer is right for you, then buy it. Anyways, I'm done ranting. Thanks for reading to the end. 10/10 for the computer.

Bought this computer and 1.5 months later turned it on and nothing appeared on the screen

Excellent machine

Bought it on labour day weekend. Excellent machine for the price, very quiet, very fast start-up. No issue whatsoever. Only wish would be to have an SSD.

  • from Edmonton, AB

ok. not great

seems like 8mb of ram is just a bit too little, will be adding another 8 mb, maybe just swapping them both out for better quality.....slow loading pages in chrome, doesnt start up all that quick either ...

Do not buy this computer

If I could, I would bring it back. It's slow, loud, the internet connection on it is not good...Just a ***** computer.. Avoid it!!!

Nice Machine

Bought this desktop on a Labour Day sale. The first unit had a noisy hard drive. I returned it and the replacement is fine. Seems like a great machine for the sale price.

Too Noisy, like a small motor beside you in the night time

Just bough it to home yesterday, when started Power and run set up to see all text is French, can't do anything to switch English, have to wait to somebody help on Mon. Too much noisy like a small motor and make vibrating sound, maybe from DVD?

Noisy, a little unstable, but still not terrible.

Just bought this yesterday. It's not a "bad" PC, but it's not very good either. The most irritating thing about this tower is the noise. It's noisy. All the time. I don't know if it's the HDD making all that noise or what, but it's bothersome enough that i'm going to be fixing it. Having to fix a brand new PC is not ideal. Dual booting this machine with ubuntu resulted in both OS's becoming unstable. The graphics card does not seem to work well with ubuntu. Had to do a complete system restore and remove the linux install. The bluetooth 4.1 on my machine wouldn't work. Had to contact ASUS for a fix. A new driver was all it needed, and customer service was OK, if a little slow. I also had to get a new keyboard and mouse as the desktop did not play nice with my other USB wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I don't know if that was a Windows 10 issue or an issue with the PC itself. It was an issue though. The desktop does come with the basic wired keyboard and mouse so that got me through until I could get the new ones sorted out. The power button is difficult to find at first. Its on the front right of the tower just below the optical drive. I've never had to spend 5 minutes looking for a power button before. Not as big deal but at least an illustration on the setup instructions might have saved me a few quarters in the swear jar. The machine is fast enough. It has far more power than the PC it replaced. Programs load relatively quickly so that is a plus. The hard drive is huge, it's wireless, supports 5G, has bluetooth and a decent processor. Bottom line: It's decent enough to get you through for a while until you can build yourself a much better computer. But expect a couple of bugs.

Included Free 32GB Webstorage for 3 years - offer expired before I bought it.

This was supposed to include a 'complimentary 32GB of Webstorage for 3 years through ASUS, but "sorry that offer expired before you bought the PC" is what I was told 12 hours after my purchase.

It gets the job done

Make some noise and the wifi isn't great. I needed to plug it with the internet. Except for that, it work pretty good. It will get the job done

Very good desktop computer

Our company bought 3 this model of computers three months ago, very fast and reliable, all 3 computers haven't had any issues. Recommend.

Lots of issues with this PC. Network card must always need to be reset. Freezes frequently, internet connection cuts all the time. My worst buy since a long time !

Bad Product - Even worse customer support

Poor quality. I've received 3 defective Asus computers. Asus support is terrible. The "company policy" prevents them from refunding or offering local service. Each defective computer is sent back to Ontario. I've been yanked around for 6 months now by Asus, and they still haven't got me a working computer. My computer has become outdated since I bought it, and I still haven't had a properly working computer to use!

I'll NEVER buy Asus again

I can't really give a review of this computer - because it has never really worked! I bought my Asus desktop in January 2017. Got it home. It was DEAD! A techy friend looked at it and immediately showed me through the case's vent holes that a loose RAM card was sitting at the bottom of the box. Returned it to Asus (across the country) and received a replacement a month later. It was ALSO DEAD. This time I could see both RAM cards (8 gb+4 gb) sitting loose on the bottom. Returned it and received a 3rd replacement. This one started, but didn't function well. After 4 weeks of loading it with data, programs, customizing it, etc I tried to see why performance was so bad. The SSD card that was supposed to be in it wasn't recognized. Asus tech support was of NO help. Asus wanted me to return it again, saying that I should have a 4th replacement in about 6 weeks. (mid-July, 6+ months after spending my money.) Should I bother? Beware if you buy an Asus PC. Customer support is HORRIBLE. Warranty is full of legaleze outs. Product quality control also appears very bad.

Fast and quiet

I've only had it for a few days but I'm impressed in the speed and absolute quiet operation. Would like to add a SSD drive for the operating system but I don't as yet know if a port is available. Best part bought it on sale!!! :)
