Junk dont buy this garbage

Touch pad is the worst thing ive ever used in the history of computers. Also needs to be updated as soon as you take it home, so it will somewhat work. Pretty technical update too, not for the casual computer user. Comp keeps disconnecting from WiFi as well for no apparent reason, My Lenovo I had before is 100 times the machine, Never again will I listen to the salesperson. Dont even buy if its on sale, make them pay you to take it. 2 Stars because processor is good.

Waste of money

This computers are terrible, their performance is the worst. They may remember you those old good times in the 90's where it took like 5 minutes to load an application. I tried to install an SSD on them and after wasting several hours and even sending them back with an RMA they just told me they don't support basically anything that is not included in the original package....yeah, that's ASUS technical support response... So the SSD's just don't work on them, their CPU's must be very old and crappy.....So before buying this think in all the time and money you are going to spend on this computers trying to make them usable, its clearly cheaper to got for an ACER at least...

Worst purchase i have ever made

sorry I bought this machine. Was recommended to me by sales person. Was the big sale before school, so I figured it had to be a good machine. Battery only last 2-3 hrs :( hate the keyboard, you have to push hard on the space bar or your words are all stuck together. Had to get the geeks to help machine didn't work when we got home ( i live 6 hrs from store). Just do not recommend this to anyone.

not what expected

The speed of the shipping was good, had it for couple of days, something wrong with the video card, it freeze every few second when watch video, and the ear phone combo plug is not working, it doesn't connect with any plugs as it was the wrong size. Also when typing, the panel of the key board moved, the quality is poor. I brought a Asus laptop about 5 years ago, much better quality, the key board piece is separate from the surround panel. I took it back hoping to exchange another one, but sold out on line and in store. Very disappointed with the way they make these days.

Great product but first one came defective

Such a great laptop but first one came with with soft key and had to be returned. Since I returned it quickly it was exchanged no problem. Second arrived quickly and no issues. Fast speed. Not sure yet if Microsoft will reimburse me for the office Suite I installed. If not I'm SOL because Best Buy won't reimburse me for software loaded. Disappointing!

Not buying another Asus

Bought this on sale as well for university student. Within a week, 2 of the keys had fallen off the keyboard. After having loaded everything necessary for school, I was not impressed that I would have to restore to factory and return -- classes had already started! ASUS customer service was NOT helpful at all and honestly didn't seem to care. Also, one of the ASUS programs (gift box), stopped working almost immediately and even uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix the issue -- unnecessary program/app but still a disappointment.

Good for the price

Yes, this is a budget laptop and feels a little cheap. Has decent specs for the price and runs well. My wife uses this laptop to run her Silhouette craft cutting machine and it works perfect for that. If your looking for a lot of speed or power look elsewhere, but be prepared to pay for it.

The battery life of this device really sucks! It goes from fully charged to nearly dead in 2-3 hours! I've only had it for 4 days.

Je suis vraiment satisfaite de mon achat

J'ai acheté ce portable pour faire du travail de bureau. Comme je suis enseignante, il devait avoir une prise pour les projecteurs et un lecteur DVD et ce portable avait toutes ces caractéristiques en plus d'avoir une bonne mémoire vive et 1TO d'espace sur le disque dur. Jusqu'à maintenant il fait très bien ce pourquoi je l'ai acheté et il est très rapide. Je l'ai depuis 2 semaines et je n'ai rien à noter de négatif.

Was good at first but turned into a dud not even 2 weeks later

I bought this laptop at the beginning of September. I did a lot of research on specs and such. I took it home and set it up, and for a little while it was great. Then all of a sudden whenever I would be watching videos/movies or listening to music it would freeze and make the noise you get with the blue screen of death (without the bluescreen) .. currently resetting and taking it back. I haven't even added much to the laptop, only downloaded Spotify and Chrome.. so there wasn't much of a chance for a virus.

Nice speed, poor construction

This laptop looks nice, is fast, and had quick delivery. However the quality of the laptop is low. The keyboard feels cheap and the DVD port is so extremely loose and flimsy I wouldn't expect it to last a few months without breaking (if being super careful). This laptop is brand new and I am having issues with the battery life. I fully charged it and the bar where it tells you how much much life you have has been acting weird. The number was jumping around going from 59 minutes to 2 hours to 1 hour and 20 minutes in a short time frame. I got it on sale and it's clear where they cut the costs. I will be returning it.

Amazing deal - great PC

Paid the 499.00, finally a laptop that responds quickly when opening programs and at start up. Great for home use and browsing. Highly recommend this as a reliable computer.

Plugged in, not charging issue

The laptop was very fast and had all the features that I wanted but unfortunately, two days after I had it I noticed it was losing charge. It wasn't the charger (I checked the voltage and it was a steady 19.2), system settings for the battery icon, or the ACPI driver. It could have been a motherboard issue or a faulty battery (sealed inside) but I got tired of trying to diagnose the problem. The Asus online chat rep suggested I return or exchange the unit since I had just purchased it less than a week ago. I reluctantly decided to do a return instead of an exchange and the store was fine about taking it back. I hope everyone else had better luck with their unit!

Bought the laptop 2 days ago for 499 CAD. Works fast, good processor AMD A10 is about the same as Inter core i5, 12 ram is great. suitable for web and software development purposes.

Received a returned laptop (supposed to be new) can't even get in

I bought what was supposed to be a new laptop yesterday, and went to set it up this morning. At first windows wouldn't load and then when I restarted it, it went straight to the accounts screen and wouldn't let me do anything even with a Microsoft account after connecting to WiFi. I needed this today. I am very unhappy about this to say the least....
