    • Not like I expected

from Ontario on June 16, 2019

I got it and used for about 10days. Then I couldn't open the document folder. I have tried to restore, recovery but it didn't work. The folder still couldn't be opened. Very strange.

    • Issues with sleep mode

from Toronto on May 30, 2019

On paper this laptop provides great value. Very slim, powerful processor, ssd, decent battery life, 1080p. It is all of those things but an issue with sleep mode killed it for me. There's an issue with the laptop that prevents it from walking up from sleep or hibernate if it goes into it from power and sleep options. What this means is you have two options - prevent it from ever going to sleep outside of manually, meaning if you leave your laptop open it will stay on until the battery dies. Or allow it to sleep and force a restart holding the power button for occasionally upwards of a minute hoping the system will reset... And if you had any documents open hope they weren't corrupted. I use the laptop for work and had important Excel documents corrupted and no longer able to open, which were then uploaded to overdrive after next restart automatically which overwrote all other copies of the document that I had synced to another computer. Luckily I had copies from a few days prior in the recycle bin that I was able to recover and only lost a few days work instead of a year's. Now I make regular backups whenever I use the laptop for work, which I regularly have to use to replace corrupted files. So I try to use the laptop as little as possible as I also have a desktop. 10 years ago I swore by the Asus brand, but honestly the quality has gone significantly downhill. I've had issues with a desktop motherboard and peripheral components as well recently. Overall, there's better products out there IMO.

Has a very loud coil whine that is very disturbing at times. However it is a fast laptop with a long battery life. Keyboard is comfortable.
