Left shift key too small

This is a very aesthetic looking laptop. I just got it today and was excited to use it. Unfortunately, the left shift key is smaller than usual and, therefore, far away to reach. I have medium sized hands, but this shift key noticeably slows down my typing and is very irritating. If you don't need to type much beyond doing a google search, then it probably doesn't matter. If you use your laptop to write long emails, reports etc. then this is actually a big deal. I am sadly going to return the laptop.

It could be more convenient

There are definitely pros and cons to this laptop. In terms of speed, it runs smoothly, the touchscreen is great, and the backlit keyboard looks beautiful. The finger ID sensor has made logging in so much more convenient. It's slim and very portable for travelling. My two biggest annoyance about this laptop is that the speakers are under the laptop, which diminishes the sound when I put my laptop on a table surface, the speakers are also very small, which I find that even at maximum volume, I'd consider it as medium volume, so headphones are a necessity. The other issue I have with it, is that it's really inconvenient adjusting the brightness, sound etc, because I have to hold the FN key every single time in order to use the function keys to increase or decrease the volume and brightness. There's apparently no way of locking FN keys on Asus laptops, which is and has been an option for every other laptop from every other brand for many years. It makes adjusting everything very inconvenient. This should've been fixed as an option a long time ago, yet Asus still hasn't gotten the memo.

Blue Screen and frost issue

I bought this computer after seeing all high reviews. I guess, I was the unlucky guy and my computer came with hardware issue. I have blue screen even without installing any new application or software more than the package. I contact with Best Buy and Asus but nothing really help me..

10/10 recommend

I love this laptop! It's light to carry and runs very fast. The color is more of a pinkish gold (which I love, but be aware if you're buying online). It has a fingerprint scanner for easy access to log in, battery life is as expected (approx. 10 hrs). Tablet mode works wonders. A regular (non Bluetooth) stylus works very accurate on the touchscreen - don't waste your money on the more expensive Bluetooth stylus thats recommend. Keyboard lights up and can be turned off as well. Only negative thing I have to say about the laptop is that I have to press 2 keys to change volume & brightness on the keyboard but it may also be my keyboard settings and sometimes the images are too sharp when watching netflix but really isn't that noticeable ....

Great computer, but very poor fingerprint reader

I like the size, weight and most features. However, the fingerprint reader doesn't work most of the time. I used to think that Apple products had the worst fingerprint readers, but this laptop is the worst. I have re-scanned my fingerprints several times, but within a day it no longer recognizes my fingerprint and I have to login using my PIN number, which is less secure than a password. However, I did not buy this laptop for its fingerprint reader and I am still satisfied with it. I wish ASUS had thrown more memory instead of an unusable fingerprint reader.

So Far So Good

I have had an Asus laptop for the past 8 years and it has worked great up until recently. I have never had a computer last that long so I was certainly not opposed to another ASUS. I was; however, interested in a Dell model but Best Buy didn't have any in the store - they were only available online and I like to actually see the machine before I buy. So, I looked at this ASUS model that was in-store and liked it. I have now had it two weeks and it does exactly what I need it to do. It switches very smoothly and easily from laptop to tablet mode and is super fast. I hope I get another 8 years out of this one!

Great value

No noticable slow down after three weeks, even with half the SSD filled wih programs and files; Convenient, powerful for its price range, and really quiet; Slick design, switching from laptop mode to tablet mode is effortless (the keys in the back while in the tablet config do feel weird, there's no getting used to that); Battery duration is good, though it's a little short if you keep the brightness at 100%); Not mentioned, but it comes with a very practical fingerprint reader: you can open the computer in a fraction of a second, just tap the reader with your finger and it opens the associated user. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Looks, feels, runs excellent

I brought my HP Envy (same specs as this but with a bigger screen) and got this instead. This Asus laptop runs insanely well. I recommend downloading all drivers from the Asus website and doing a clean Windows 10 install. Looks absolutely gorgeous, and the quality control is superb (cant say the same about the HP laptop I had). Pros: - Excellent battery life - Solid design (including the hinge) - Backlit keyboard not limited to just ONE setting - Touchpad is packed with features and conveniences (see one con below) - Speakers are the BEST I've heard from a laptop hands down - Fingerprint placement is logical, vol+power buttons are clicky Cons: - Keyboard layout is a little different than most (small left shift, large bottom row compared to all other buttons, verticle enter button) - Touchpad feels slippery - Fingerprint reader is less reliable than most others - Laptop refused to turn off keyboard/touchpad in tablet mode, took a while to find the right drivers (Asus FlipLock, but for UX461UA, not U or UN -- multiple restarts needed)

Worth the price

Very compact, visually appealing, and fast for everyday usage. Highly recommend for business professional, except for note taking, where it is actually terrible.
