very good product with few cons

I've bought this turntable after long search for automatic one. This product fits my needs with quality and price. I was looking for some with pitch control, but when I found out about DC servomotor, this feature doesn't seem to be necessary. First think what I did is ordering new cartridge, because this one coming with this turntable is really not worth too much. Also I found out that built in pre amp doesn't have very good frequency response so I bought external one. After those changes I am very happy with that product. But I found out something which is hard to accept in any turntable. Description of that product states that tonearm rest is lockable. I looked around that rest long time and I did not find any lock on it. This simple, important feature prevent stylus against breakage when turntable will be moved. Without this any movement is dangerous for cartridge. Maybe I am missing something, but that was unpleasant surprize.

very good product with few cons

I bought this turntable because is the one of very few on the market with upgradable cartridge and fully automatic. It replaced my old Akai. I found this product very good for that price, set up is easy. I was looking for something with pitch control but witch DC servo motor this feature is not necessary. However I found out two cons: First and the most important in my opinion is lack of the locking clip of tonearm. I don't understand why designer did not think about that. Importance of that simple and chip feature is tremendous when you invest some money to upgrade your cartridge. Any movement of turntable could damage the stylus. Upgrading of the cartridge is inevitable because this one coming with turntable is pretty chip - and this is a second con I found. Despite of that I would recommend this product for everybody who has a huge collection of vinyl records ( like myself)and his budget is limited.
