- Very impressed- January 18, 2020
This was my second experience with a Blue mic. I bought this after I borrowed a Blue Yeti to replace the stock mic on my headset. Although the Yeti was amazing I found it to be too sensitive. It picked up everything and it was way too heave for a mic stand. The Snowball was a nice compromise. I don't feel as though I lost too much quality over the Yeti yet I was able to put it on the cheap mic stand from Amazon. I found it useful to add a cheap cloth pop filter. It was a needed improvement. Being on the mic stand I have not found the need for a shock mount. The next upgrade to this would be to go with an XLR mic.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great value! Ideal for many personal uses- July 26, 2017
Massive improvement over the basic PC microphone I was using before this. Plug and play on both Windows and macOS. The sound quality is excellent, and when combined with a pop filter, I could see it being used for a wide variety of professional-sounding purposes. I considered the "Snowball iCE" as a cheaper alternative, but decided on this model. The main difference is in the performance of the mic; the iCE model only picks up sound from the front. The Snowball allows you to switch from front-based, surround-based, or front-based gain mode (picking up higher decibel sounds, such as drums, with more finesse.)Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Good, versatile mic for the non-techie- July 12, 2012
This mic is pretty user-friendly. It's a good, middle-of-the-road device for a decent price, considering what you get, but the price tag might put it out of some people's range of affordability. I hesitated to buy something that cost this much, but it has been well worth it. I do some singing and voice acting, and the mic works very well for those purposes. It has 3 settings for different things you can do with it, and all you have to do to change those settings is slide a knob on the back of the mic. For a newbie like me, that's a godsend. The instruction manual is very straightforward--just follow the directions, and you should be able to get set up and get recording pretty quickly.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
