Bosch Power Cord with Junction Box (SMZPCJB1UC)

This Bosch - Powercord with Junction Box for Benchmark and Thermador Dishwashers for Hard-wired installation came with our new dishwasher, but we didnt need it. It appears to be good quality. Our dishwasher isnt hard wired so we didnt need this power cord. I will probably sell it on ebay or similar means. The Bosch dishwasher, however, is an awesome machine! Super quiet! and cleans dishes effectively. I couldnt believe how quiet it is. It actually sounds like it is raining outside. Lightly. Thats how quiet it is. We just love the new dishwasher!!! This power cord is probably just as awesome, but we didnt use it and dont need it. so we will never know.

I was replacing my dishwasher. Bosch and perhaps certain other dishwashers require an outlet to plug the dishwasher into. My old dishwasher was hard wired without a plug or outlet. Fo a Bosch dishwasher there are two options. Installation of a standard three prong outlet or the Bosch junction box, which includes a plug that connects to the dishwasher. This is definitely the cheaper alternative. I purchased the junction box separately from the dishwasher because at the time of my first purchase, I did not realize that I needed it. When the installers arrived I told them that I had purchased it in case they needed it and they replied that they did need it.

When I ordered the dishwasher, it included installation. This unit and another hardware package was tacked on to cover most problems that would occur in an installation. Unfortunately, the water damage caused by the old washer prevented the installers from doing their intended job. I performed the needed repairs and then installed the dishwasher myself. I only used one part out of the many parts included in the two installation hardware packages. This was expected since the installation packages were designed to support several types of challenges in various situations.
