Bowers & Wilkins 603 S2 Anniversary 200W Tower Speaker - Single - Oak

Bowers and Wilkins aka B&W loudspeakers, have been at the forefront of the audio recording industry since the early years of Hi-Fi. Like most all British speakers, the neutral and open mid-range, coupled with very accurate bass and treble response, makes this brand a popular choice with many devout audiophiles. Although considered the "entry level" from the manufacturer's 5 levels of series, the 603 S2 are the top of the 600 series. These are designed as a true Bi-wire or Bi- amp for connectivity to any amplifier and the 3-way design with tall cabinet provides for a smooth transition between treble, mid-range and is separated internally, from the mid-bass along with the added bass cone which adds extended lower bass response. The slim cabinet is partly the reason for the un-boxy, and open response, the music seems to "jump out of the box, and into the room", as if a live performance is taking place. Note of caution, B&W like other fine quality speakers can tend to be very revealing, and can highlight issues of lower quality components connected to them, from an inexpensive CD/DVD player to a lower grade phono cartridge (needle).
