- 4-years now....- April 25, 2020
Read the reviews, did the comparative model research, and intended to write a review a few months later. Well it's been 4-solid years that I've been making 2 or more espresso's a day with zero regrets or complaints. It is a fantastic machine. And the reviews reflect that. Fresh and properly roasted beans are hard to find. I went through 5-10 well reviewed roasters before finding one that was legit and would result in a pulled shot that was rich with good crema. So, don't give up try another bean. You'll know when you've found the winner. It was a frustrating process but in the end totally worth it. Dialing in the grams to grind to tamp pressure is an art and will take some trial and error. If you want to buy and store beans in excess of what you'd use in a week or two buy a vacuum sealer. Seal the beans 3-5 days after roasting and freeze them. Take out a weeks worth as needed. Eventually these machines will fatigue. Mostly the water pump or solenoid assembly start to go. Currently I'm looking at replacing the solenoid assembly in my machine which I can repair myself for $100. I've read Breville will replace it for $250. Considering the cost of a new machine and after this many years of service I have no hesitation on doing the repair and having another 2-4 years or more of service. As others have mentioned there is a process unlike a fully automatic machine. If you don't mind the process go for it. If you just want to push a button then spend the grand and get a good automatic machine. Good luck! Happy cupping!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

- Amazing Machine!- October 26, 2018
I am a coffee addict, I would spend hundreds of dollars a month on Starbucks or other coffee shops. I like great coffee, I am disgusted by donkin, McDonald's or other mediocre massively sold coffee. So I needed something that would not make want to go get a latte somewhere. This machine does that, granted that you take the time to learn and invest in good quality beans. The haven't bought a cup of coffee since I purchased this machine 3 months ago, needless it will pay for itself. This machine Is capable of producing a high quality latte in the comfort of your kitchen. I couldn't recommend it more, if you love good coffee this is for you.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Would have liked for it to work- May 26, 2018
The machine looks well built but it doesn't work. Water leaks into the bottom tray whenever making espresso or using the steam wand. A full tank will be near empty after 3-5 times using either function. Maybe because of the water leaks, the pressure never got to the "espresso range" as per the manual and a shot would be done in 5 seconds which seem way too quick. Also tried different beans, different grind settings, different amount of grounds, different amount of pressure...none seems to work. Gave up. Very tempted to give it another try but have been seeing some bad reviews as well. Not sure if the later batches of this machine are bad.No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
