- No more take out pizza- June 3, 2015
We got the pizza maker very quickly. We were able make our first pizza the following weekend. The secret is the dough. You have to use 00 flour or caputo flour. Also, you need a great pizza dough recipe. You have to pat attention to the dough thickness. If it is too thick, it won't cook through. We feel its going to be a huge amount of trial and error before we get it right, which is just as fun. Using the right dough as made the pizza taste good the next day. Did not dry out and get hard, soft like we just made it. We are extremely happy with the product and will be having a pizza party with friends very soon!

Report - Breville Pizza Maker- May 14, 2014
The 1st attempt at making the pizza was excellent although late in the baking time we thought the crust may have been a little thick because the toppings were "toasting" more than we thought would be good. Turns out it was one of the best pizzas we ever had. I was tempted to buy a 2nd pizza maker because it was so good and it would be great to have 2 different pizzas ready at the same time. The 2nd attempt didn't go as well because we made the crust too thin so the sauce made the crust stick to the pizza stone and made it very difficult to remove and did not cook all the way through. It's a learning curve and once you get the right base, the pizza will be better than anything you can have deliverd. You can make them to the size you want, up to 12", and be very creative with the cheeses and toppings you use. We're looking forward to our 3rd try.

Report - I wonder if they've "improved" it?- December 12, 2019
My Breville Crispy Crust pizza maker, which I bought 5 years ago, hits a working temperature of 655 degrees in about 8 minutes. This is not as hot as their other pizza oven, and not hot enough to make decent neapolitan pizza. But it's hotter than anyone else's oven at this price and I work with it. It can make excellent pizza! Now this article sez the new one can only do 572 degrees, more like a normal oven. If that's true, then why even buy this at all? I hope that temperature was a mistake, and not Breville downspecificationing this oven to try to make the more expensive one look better.
