  • Disappointed
    Reviewed by felix - October 14, 2021

In general, a very good food processor - works as advertised. Our disappointment comes from the fact that the center spindle of the main bowl expands over time - from use and/or from washing. The result is that none of the accessories fit any more making them useless. We had been using the unit regularly for about 12 months before we had to contact Breville to get a new main bowl (under warranty). The second bowl 'failed' after another 12 months; however, the warranty had now expired. We returned that entire unit under the Best Buy extended warranty and purchased an Oster food processor for about $80. Disappointed, F. Daske, North Vancouver

  • Very bad plastic parts
    Reviewed by Angela - November 4, 2017

I bought it at the end of 2015 but do only use occasionally when I have to cook for a bigger batch. At the beginning I was really happy with the look and the performance but eventually the plastic parts started breaking and falling apart !!! 1st was the top edge of the large food pusher, then it twas the large processing bowl with handle and finally today it's the bowl lock plate attached to the base. I am really very upset. I don't know what I have done that I should not. I am very careful about my kitchen appliances because cooking is my passion. Now I am trying to contact Breville Canada for replacement parts :(

  • Breville sous chef food processor BFP800XL
    Verified BuyerReviewed by Wannod's Place - March 18, 2021

I bought the 16 cup sous chef food processor BFP800XL about a month ago. Ive been using alot more than i thought i would. I been making pie dough, grating blocks of cheese. With the softer blocks like mozzarella, i put it in the freezer about an hr to firmup then it goes through without trouble. After grating a entire block of cheese, i pour it into a larger bowl then add cornstarch ¹/² TBsp at the time, mix it around then add another half TBsp. I find in total i use 2 TBsp per block, this stops cheese from sticking. You can freeze it in zip lock bag and pull out to use as needed,. With just a little squeeze directly out of freezer the cheese is ready to use. I've been slicing pickles, cucumber, cabbage, whole beef steak and hothouse tonatoes. Shredded potatoes, onions. I made my dressing for pitas. I remove the guts of bell peppers and slice them whole. I hope i can touch base in 6 months to give an update. It does the job so fadt, it's amazing. Its really easy to clean, i only hand wash. Looking forward to slicing meat into deli style like han, beef, turkeu and more. The storage caasee is awesome, every piece is labled so you know exactly where to put it back in case after use. I will be putting videos on YouTube soon, i m just editing them. Look for "wannod's place" on youtube

  • Processor is great but parts….
    Reviewed by Jenn - July 15, 2021

I’ve had this machine for a few years and love it, but the bowl cracked after about a year in and since then has been impossible to buy. I’ve been in contact with Breville to get one but since I live in Canada they can’t sell me one from their site. I’ve finally had to break down and buy a bowl from Amazon for almost triple the price of what it’s listed for on their direct site. While it’s a great machine I will never buy Breville again if this is the type of support given to their Canadian customers.

  • Great, but parts break down
    Reviewed by Karen - December 24, 2020

I love this processor, but it’s parts are breaking down. I have replaced the main blade plus the lid as where they connect the material is melting. Today I noticed black oil in my food mixture and realized the clear plastic tube in the lower centre of the container has broken off in two support areas and is cracked in the last area. It is now not safe to use due to lubrication oil contamination. AND I am unable to buy a replacement as it is out of stock. I have asked to be notified when it is in stock. But the last time I asked to be notified about a missing rubber ring on the lid I had bought I never heard back - although I just noticed it is now back in stock.
