  • exactly what I wanted

I read the previous review, wit the deep sleep issue. It seems that brother was aware of it - and have fixed it (or at least provide with how to solve the problem). The setup was super easy - through wifi. I plugged it in the pc, ran the driver install and done. Unplug, move the printer to were you want, and turn it on and it just works. setup for macbook pro on same network is just as easy. scanning to PC! amazing! creates a pdf, and places it in some weirdly named folder - oh, it opens that folder for you! (so you scan, and when you get back to your pc, the folder is open with all your scans) Just great - you don't need to search for it (I am sure you can look in the settings and specify the folder). did not try fax, but ... its fax... did not try copy yet. did not try the extra brother software that came with the driver install... drum and toner is on the expensive side (4.4 cents a page)... so I guess it will last 12000 pages and then wait for a special and buy a new printer... such a waste. After 12000 pages you need a new drum and toner which cost more than the printer on special.

  • Constantly disconnects

Previously had a wired Brother printer that worked great for many years, so I decided to upgrade to a wireless model. I had high hopes, but only to be let down by this thing constantly going into "deep sleep" and not able to wake up when sending it a print job. I have tried using the regular wireless as well as hard-wired to a airport express. The only way to print is to turn it off then back on. Every time. If you're looking for trouble-free wireless printing, look somewhere else.
