Bought these for my son who is getting started with amateur astronomy. We've already used them to see Jupiter and 4 of its moons, the Andromeda galaxy, and several star clusters. These are heavy and shaky, but with a good tripod you will get clear images. Comes with standard tripod mount.

  • Too front heavy & awkward to use.

These were purchased as an extra "at home" pair. Low-light capability and motion stabilizers were substituted for a lower price, but they were too heavy and awkward to use for more than a few seconds. Not much more magnification than the 60+ year old 12X magnification it was purchased to replace. Too many steps to refocus between different users. Lens caps (4) are not attached by hinges or straps and could be easily lost. Tripod much smaller than expected. These were returned. Next pair of binoculars will be bought in store after trying all the features in person. Low light capability, motion stabilizers and wide field of vision are just as important as magnification and clarity and will not be overlooked with the replacement purchase.
