- Easy way to add a camera to your garage- 3 octobre 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted a camera in my garage due to needing more security around the house. I already had a MyQ Connect Smart controller but this isn't needed for the camera to function. Turned out to be a great addition to MyQ app! Would recommend this camera for those that want an eye on garage. Setup Adding the camera to MyQ eco system was pretty easy. Setting it up on the app was really easy. Adding the camera physically was also easy with the magnetic base, couldn't be any easier than sticking the camera onto the garage door opener itself and plugging the power adapter into the same garage opener outlet. Mounting the sensor also was easy, I just used the included Velcro strips included.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Good Cam for MyQ Users- 5 octobre 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been a regular MyQ user for several years now. When we moved into our new house last year, one of the first things I picked up was a MyQ control for our Genie garage door opener so that I could control it the way I was accustomed to. We currently use a wireless, battery powered camera in our garage, but I wanted to get something that didn't require frequent recharges and worked with my existing MyQ setup. First things first - I took a star away because the MyQ app is extremely finicky when it comes to setting up new devices. The app will tell you "oh, don't worry about positioning items yet" - but if you don't have them in the right place, the setup will get locked into a constant loop of "Oops, try again". I needed to have my phone, the camera, and the hub all literally right next to each other to complete setup. I struggled with the MyQ help options there before I realized what I needed to do. Once I got it setup, I relocated the camera to where I wanted it and everything else went great. The video quality on the camera is great, and I noticed that the pickup time to view the live feed is faster than in my other, wireless & battery powered camera. Just to be clear - this still uses WiFi for connectivity, it's not a ethernet wired device. The only plug on this is the Micro-USB power socket. The base of the camera has holes that allow you to mount it on a wall or from the ceiling if you so chose. The base is also magnetic. I ended up putting the camera on top of my tool cabinet and it grabbed on nicely. It made me feel good because it won't get knocked off there easily and it doesn't require any glue or other adhesive to make it stick. The camera's neck is a nice feature. You can rotate the device in any manner to get the view you want. I rotated the camera 180 degrees so the plug would work with the angle I wanted. In the MyQ app, you can tell it that you've flipped the camera and the image will auto-correct orientation. So far, it's a solid device and I haven't had any issues or concerns. I think I'll prefer this to my battery powered one because in the event of a power loss, I wouldn't even be able to view those since the hub that controls them would be dead. At least with the MyQ camera, I have something that's always on and ready to go.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Nice Camera, Easy Installation, No Free Storage- 19 septembre 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Good: The camera Field of View and operating temperature range are well optimized for the garage. 140 degrees let's you see quite a bit! It integrated easily with MyQ. Physical installation is easy with the magnetic mounting option and the long power cord provided. Image quality is also good, in line with other cameras out there these days, clear and crisp video. The Bad: Really only big issue - no free storage options, not even a single day. Cheapest subscription is $30/year, making this very expensive over the life of the product. If live video is all you need, than this is good, but if you want to see even any activity over the past day, you'll need to pay.No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Solid value - works well- 20 septembre 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted a garage camera to keep a watchful eye on our possessions while we are gone. This was a perfect solution as it works as a stand-alone device or in conjunction with the Chamberlain smart control. Setup was simple and very much similar to the more popular brands of video security cams. It works with several compatible systems including Amazon, Google and more. I did encounter trouble linking the camera to my Google home system so I'll need to do more research on how to do that. I like the small configuration of this camera. It can be unobtrusive vs some of the larger cameras on the market. In short, this is a solid video camera and the app (so far) is pretty intuitive.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Convenience is wonderful…- 26 septembre 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So my regular push button remotes have had dead batteries or completely failed on me before…which is really bad when you lock the door behind you but only grabbed your cell phone… Anyway…this decide was easy to set up. Instructions could probably been a little more clean, but as far as getting everything going…it was a snap. It linked to my wifi on first try. The picture quality is good there has t been any lag that I have noticed. The settings and app are easy to navigate. You can control the motion detection settings as well as the notifications. My garage is 20 by 26. It sets on the far wall and I get a good picture of everything coming and going. It I move it the corner I can literally see the whole garage.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
