This is my second one of these, the first lasted 10 yrs or more making bread every other day. Its used for Bread, Dough for buns, Chutneys and Jams. Before I had a bread machine I used to do it all by hand, but age is getting the better of me. The preset cycles do a good job, but a note of caution, if you make bread by hand then you will likely have to adjust your recipes as the machine cannot make subjective decisions on the fly about giving a longer rise for this one today. or less gluten flour the next. There a three basic bread settings, white, WW, French/Italian, , then size and quick or regular, and crust. There is dough only, bake only a few things I've never tried. It has an Artisan cycle for long cool rises but I stiil do my french sticks and Ciabatta by hand with a 16 hour cool rise overnight. If you have never made bread before, then read all the instructions a few times till you under stand them, bread is sensitive to flour type, salt and water content.

We had our first one for 10 years this is our second one & no problems I am contemplating getting the old one fixed if it is not too expensive then taking it to the cottage. It is true the sounds are not loud enough,it is the only machine that has a paddle removal signal. It is only a machine not a professional baker & will not factor in humidity hence water or flour quantity may require adjustment

  • It's pure junk.....

This is without a doubt the most sorry piece of junk I've ever owned. The recipes are lousy and the manual was written by someone who has NO clue how a breadmaker works - the instructions are junk and the you can't make heads or tales of it. It's got these lame menus in the bread maker that are supposed to be goof proof - you can't stop or cancel or customize ANYTHING. Even the instructions don't accurately describe what it's doing .... its JUST BAD !!! Get it?? BAD !!! I had an old cheap Black and Decker that was the most easy and simple thing to use it's comparing night and day to what a hunk of junk this "thing" is ...... DO NOT BUY A CUISINART CBK-200C
