  • Works well in my shop

from Petrolia, ON on 7 janvier 2019

I have the 1 unit in my house basement attached to my router and the other unit that emits the WIFI is outside in my shop which passes through 2 breaker panels and is probably over 100ft away. It has always worked well and never lost signal. I run my laptop, phone and Smart TV out in the shop with no problems. I am getting the same signal from the Shop device I'm getting from my Router in the hosue

  • Great Coverage, but a bit sensitive

from Acton, ON on 9 juin 2017

This item is great for those who currently have range extenders on the edge of their network. Replaced a DAP1320 range extended that was showing connectivity issues and haven't had a drop since. The base unit comes with a pass through plug which is a fantastic idea for these larger power blocks, plugged my router into it and is showing no connection problems. The WiFi extender unit does also have a LAN port and QOS functionality in the bios. So for people in my circumstances, having a desktop without WiFi and using the WiFi adapter for lower priority items, can be a bit of a challenge. This guy made it easy. As for the setup it was just plug and play. It does come with a setup wizard, but was not needed. Connects easily to other powerline devices. The only problem I had with this is that it seems to be very sensitive to interference on the powerline side. That is to say in my situation, I wasn't able to get full network speeds on either the LAN port or the WiFI but full speed from my routers WiFi. After trying a few combinations of things, I resorted to not using a surge protector and full speeds were obtained,. Not necessarily a problem of this device alone, but with powerline technology in general. One last thing I found a bit odd was accessing the device, it seems it can only be done with the device URL and not a standard access IP address, while no big deal it may be a problem if you rename the device or forget the address you might have trouble re configuring it. All in all, great product, great coverage, easy to setup (once you get around powerline sensitivty) would reccomend.
