D-Link PowerLine AV2 2000 Gigabit Starter Kit (DHP-701AV)
- DLINK POWERLINE EXTENDER
from Qualicum Beach BC on January 4, 2020
Second Dlink extender unit would not connect with my Netgear wi-fi wireless extender. I did connected telus modem via ethernet to the first Dlink unit. I did not connect a computer via ethernet to the seond Dlink extender. Therefore I do not know if the second dlink extender will transfer data to the computer. For my purposes this Dlink unit was a disappointment. It was useless as the second dlink unit would not connect with my Netgear wi-fi even with using an ethernet cable to connect these two units together.
- Better than cabling everywhere...just.
from Rosemere, QC on November 26, 2018
I just set it up and ditched the included Cat5 cables because WHY D-Link, seriously...? Nobody will get anywhere close to 2 Gigabit speeds over Cat5 cabling...So dumb... Anyways...my home is almost 50yrs old (original wiring), and the AV2 2000 plays 4K off Netflix, and Youtube, Google Play Movies, etc no problem...but for some reason it struggles with 4K content off my NAS whereas with a direct wired connection that never happened. We'll see...but at least I don't have to deal with 100' cabling everywhere anymore.
- Product is great

The fastest powerline product I ever used, getting 200mbps speed from basement to upstairs, same speed as the direct connection with a cat6 cable. It makes a tiny noise and not sure it could be last longer.

It is the fastest powerline I ever tried, I got 200MBps speed from basemen to upstairs, it is the same speed as I got with a cat6 cable direct connection. The only thing I concern, it makes a tiny noise and I don't know if it could last longer.
- 100 mb port only
from Orangeville, ON on February 23, 2018
Be aware, this is not a gigabit connection. It has a 10/100 port only. I connected it to my switch and it showed only a 100mb connection. Donât fall for the marketing. When itâs âup toâ, there are loopholes that can be used in what they can claim.
- Works as intended

From upstairs to the basement finally got internet down there. The AV500 would show us a red light and give us a bad connection of 1-2mbps but with AV2000 get around 20mbps, still short of what I pay for but considering how far it is and also how far it is on the circuit breaker which is what matters the most, it does the job. Been through a few other products, just pay the extra for this and you won't be disappointed. If this doesn't work, you'll need those new big routers that are used for commercial purposes to get internet in your home.
- So far so good!
from Kelowna, BC on February 3, 2017
Was struggling with my wireless connection to my work PC at home with slow speeds. Tried some Wi-Fi extenders/boosters with minimal results. Purchased this about a week ago and I have consistent 55Meg now at my PC. I've heard from others that running the dryer or other high voltage appliances caused interference with their connection and speed. I've had no issues with my VPN staying connected around the clock and it works great.
- Max speed achieved 80-90Mbps versus the 140Mbps achieved via Wifi
from Moncton, NB on January 26, 2017
I purchased this device to improved the speed going to my android box as hard wired to the router gets speeds over 300Mbps but maxing out at about 160Mbps via wifi connection.. I was disappointed to find that the speed achieved with this product claiming to be up to 1Gbps produced speeds nearly half of what I aheivex wirelessly..
