  • A total waste of money?

It says one can get up to 2000 Gbps download speeds. With my TV upstairs (WiFi router is down stairs) I was getting about 40 Mbps download speeds to my LG Smart TV. When I bought this kit, I saw this on the box: PC EDITORS' CHOICE March 14, 2015 (i.e SIX YEARS OLD technology)!!! When I installed this kit I was getting about 70 Mbps download speeds which is FAR less than the 300 Mbps I pay my ISP for. So for that increase is the $130.00 for an SIX YEAR OLD product really worth it? To me it is NOT. I am VERY disappointed. I had hoped to get about 280 Mbps so I could attach an OLD router to its Ethernet output port upstairs.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

From upstairs to the basement finally got internet down there. The AV500 would show us a red light and give us a bad connection of 1-2mbps but with AV2000 get around 20mbps, still short of what I pay for but considering how far it is and also how far it is on the circuit breaker which is what matters the most, it does the job. Been through a few other products, just pay the extra for this and you won't be disappointed. If this doesn't work, you'll need those new big routers that are used for commercial purposes to get internet in your home.

  • Better than Wifi
    Reviewed by G.D. - December 22, 2015

Wifi in my area is pretty dense due to all the routers in my area and I was getting tired of having disconnects and/or lower bandwidth due to interference from other routers. I decided to upgrade to D-Link Powerline AV2 and I have never had to deal with dropped connections or lower bandwidth performance issues. It has been the most stable home network upgrade I have ever done, now I use these powerline adapters at every device that can support a wired connection. The speeds and latency are amazing! It's like running a long ethernet cable from the router to the device! A MUST TRY for all fed-up WiFi users!
