  • What's written in the "Overview" section is wrong.
    Reviewed by Brendan - April 23, 2020

Within the Overview section it says 150 MB/s, and 433 MB/s between the 2.4ghz band and 5ghz band respectively. This is wrong and differs from the actual product labelling and specs, there is a key difference between MB/s and Mbps or Mbitsps, MegaBytes, and Megabits. 8 Megabits = 1 Megabyte, Meaning this product is actually 18MB/s and 54MB/s relative to their bands. The product works perfectly as intended, just be aware of the inaccuracy in the Overview section. Good performance, but at first glance, it seems way better than it is.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

  • Works for me! Simple easy solution!

I have a PC that I built 8 years ago, it's still going strong with minor upgrades along the way. One thing that hasn't been able to be upgraded is on-board wireless networking. Solution: This little gem of a product. I made sure I downloaded the latest drivers from another computer connected to the internet, transferred the files via USB memory stick to my computer, plugged in this wireless adapter, installed the drivers and connected to my wireless LAN. Easy, for me, at least.

  • Awesome

I've had this little gem for over a year now. It is connected to an A8N-E mobo with an Opteron dual core, yes the system is old and running XP SP3. The PC is over 50' away from the D-Link wireless router (mydlink) and blocked by a cinder wall. In the beginning, yes I did have some connection issues, However, I reconnected the USB wireless adapter with a Kanex gold cable and set the end way up on the wall. The XP system, a media server, now streams movies at 720p and the news as well as many downloads without a hitch. I highly recommend this little device, awesome :)

Bought this because my desktop adaptor kicked out and no longer have the option for hard wiring. Price is fine, installation was n't too much of a hassle but the performance is no good. Ran two speedtests at the same time, one on my laptop and the other on my desktop, and my laptop was pulling 35MBps down while this card only gave me 1.5-2MBps. However, my upload speeds were almost identical, getting around 10MBps up. Constant ping spikes (700ms+) making most games unplayable and streaming anything very unreliable. Will be returning and will try out some powerline adaptors for hardwiring.
