  • Avoid this router

from Calgary on June 2, 2019

I had to return this router twice now. you have to reset it almost every day and even then only some devices will connect to it. Had to hard reboot a lot as well. Switched to Linksys and it works perfectly.

  • USB files sharing does not work

from Montreal on September 25, 2018

The router portion works well and has a better range than my old DIR-655N over the 2.4GHz band (worth the 3 stars), but the file sharing using USB flash is deeply buggy: It supports FAT and NTFS but not exFAT which is disappointing from a **new** device; it can read files already written to USB flash but corrupts files when performing a write to the USB flash; the file sharing uses samba v1 which is deprecated under windows 10 because of weak security (you have to manually re-install samba v1 in windows the same way you reinstall telnet). Pretty disappointing. DLINK support is completely useless and is unable to answer any basic question. This router needs at least one major firmware revision but DLINK does not want to say anything about that .... I therefore have no choice but exchange it against a cheaper device that has no USB ports.
