ehh

bought this so i could bring it with me to Thailand since i couldn't bring my desktop. i upgraded it with 8 more gb ram, loaded on my games & took off... landing here i went to use it, but shortly found that just sitting around or browsing simple things uses incredibly high amounts of disk % (generally 100%, sometimes it dips down below that though, so i've got that going for me...) after searching online it seems a tonne of people have been having this problem & for over 2 years it's been a thing. so, i've also got that going for me, which is nice... i wonder if dell ever considered putting components into it that can actually handle windows...

Entry level gaming laptop

For people that don't know, this is an entry level gaming laptop. This will not be FAST out of the box due to the HDD, this laptop has lots of room for upgrading. 1 M.2 ssd slot (sata or nvme), up to 32gb ram. Oh and for anyone wondering a gtx 1050 can play triple A titles like GTA etc. but you will have to play with settings, this card ain't the fastest but is perfect for light gaming to more demanding titles, you will just have to play with the settings. Overall good laptop the only drawbacks are the screen, and the HDD (5400 rpm) - would be nice to have a 7200rpm hdd but that's pretty rare in some laptops, other than that its a great value especially under 900 considering gpu and ram prices are SKY HIGH due to mining.

Great Computer

I bought this computer Feb 13 and did 2 upgrades right away which have made this computer even better. - added an additional 4GB Ram (very much needed since the GPU is a dedicated 4GB Card) - Add a MSATA SSD to run programs (only 120GB; this helps boot, operate, everything much faster) things to know about this laptop - if you are gaming, it needs to be plugged in. It is awesome!! I would suggest adding a SSD & additional ram - you will be overly happy :)

SSD & RAM needed

Upgraded SSD and added an additional 4GB to the existing 8GB stick already in there; this thing is a monster - buy a decent wired mouse if you're going to game a litttttle.

Can't beat the price!

Immediately upgraded the harddrive with a Samsung Evo 850 250GB - thats all the computer is missing. Next will be an additional 4GB Ram. Both are very much needed if you want a superior gaming laptop.

Great Budget Gaming PC

Not sure why this lap top is getting such bad rep. For the price point this lap top is a beast. Runs every game i throw at it at mid to high graphic settings. Have had zero issues with the memory issues like the first reviewer ( Clearly he doesn't understand you can't leave 100 programs open at a time). The HDD with the computer is relatively slow (but they all are). I highly suggest buying a SDD to speed up the load times. It takes me 10 seconds to get into windows and be surfing the web. The monitor is also lacking in quality but again for such a cheap gaming pc you really can't complain. If you want a top end gaming pc spend 2000 plus and get what your looking for. If you want a budget gaming pc that works i highly recommend this pc.

DO NOT BUY THIS POTATO

Don't waste your time with this laptop. You can purchase an actual potato from the supermarket and it'll have more use than this. It is SO incredibly slow I can't even begin to fathom how unbelievably deceiving the specs are. Don't let it fool you. I've tried every method in the books to remove/disable useless junk. Boot time was about 3-5 minutes. Opening up chrome takes 10 seconds. Multi-tasking abilities on this laptop is almost non existent. Don't even get me started with gaming on this laptop. PUBG runs at 50 fps at VERY LOW. Let that sink in. The one I purchased does not have a SSD and is using a 5400RPM HDD, which does attribute to the slowness, however it shouldn't ever be THIS slow. The disk usage is almost always at 100% even sitting IDLE. I wouldn't even take this for free because it's utterly useless.
