- Go for it !- August 19, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the monitor yesterday, I am very excited about writing the review for this dell monitor, I really liked and enjoying it. I have 4 DELL Monitors at home currently we are using all, my elder son uses one for his online class, my younger uses another one, and i use two for work. All my present 4 monitors are top quality monitors, this one beats all my current ones :). Image clarity is so good, faster response time. I am very sure you will like this monitor like me, just go for it. Power cable, HDMI, DP and USB cables are included in the box. Ports : AC Power, Security lock slot, Two HDMI 2.0 Ports, One DP Port, Audio line-out, USB 3.0 Up and Downstream ports, Audio headphone. I used HDMI port to connect to my laptop. Installation: Very easy. You can do it in less than 2 mins :). No need manual, but it comes with manual :). Monitor buttons are on the backside which is good, so that screen looks big. Initially, i was confused what button is for what since there are no signs on it, but once we click top menu button on the screen it will show what button is mapped to what key, maybe dell can consider including adding one paper manual document explaining the same, but not a big a deal it is very easy to figure out. Maybe dell can consider adding USB C port in future versions, because in laptops like Surface uses USB C, of course we can use USB C to HDMI adapter. Very good design, backside blue color light gives rich look. Monitor can be adjusted to set desired height, tilt and swivel. I really liked it and i am sure you will enjoy this monitor like me. Go for it !Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Fantastic Gaming and General Monitor- August 23, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used many Dell monitors over the years with the latest being Dell - S2415H 23.8" IPS LED HD Monitor. This was a good monitor which I used primarily as an extended screen and sometimes to play games. Honestly I’ve never thought about getting a monitor specifically for gaming and now that I’ve tried the Dell 27 Gaming Monitor: S2721DGF I realised I’ve been missing out. This monitor totally blew me out of the water and I am beyond impressed. It comes in a simple box with no frills inside, just adequate protection and the necessary pieces which were the monitor, the base, the stand, the power cable, an hdmi cable, a DP cable, a usb cable and a simple sheet detailing how to set up the monitor. The available connectivity ports are 2 HDMI 2.0, 1 DP 1.4, 1 line-out jack, 1 Headphone-out jack, along with 2 usb ports directly under the screen. Setting this up was a breeze, if you get stuck anywhere at all the instruction sheet is available. Once everything is in place you can power it up by pressing the power button found under the screen on the right hand side. On a side note the device is beautiful from the base all the way up to the screen (which is anti-flare). Its virtually bezel-less and it has nice designed vents on the back that add to its bold look but also serves the purpose of dispersing heat, not to mention the calm blew glow from the lights it has in the back. I also greatly appreciate the design of the base and stand. They feel very sturdy and I have no doubt in their longevity. I also like how it allows you to easily set your desired height as well as your tilt with no need for an extra tool. When it comes to performance, this is where this monitor shines. By default when the monitor is connected to anything say a pc or console , it looks wonderful, but when you are ready to fine tune it you can find, on the back of the monitor on the right side, a joystick with a few buttons below that allow you to navigate the on screen menus to help you do this. Not only can you control the display modes like Cinema, Standard and comfort It also has games modes optimized for your game type. It even has open slots in the display mode for you to personalize however you see fit. No matter what I threw at it, it performed outstandingly. I attached it to my Gaming Pc( which offered the highest optimization), Ps4, Switch and even my Samsung tablet to test with NFS heat, COD WW2 and BO3, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Cod Mobile respectively. Of course on all of them the graphics looked stunning coming through the screen, no matter the angle, but it’s the speed and refresh rate that got to me. It made everything so smooth and I started seeing that there was much more detail there than I thought before. The responsiveness also stood out, especially with the racing and FPS games there was no tearing, ghosting or stuttering. I am still in disbelief even though I have been using it for the last few days. This is an outstanding monitor and you will not be disappointed if you pick it up.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Visually Stunning for Xbox Series S- December 7, 2021
Coming from a 1080p 144hz gaming monitor, I immediately recognized the difference in terms of visual & game play performance. The first game I played on this monitor was Guardians of the Galaxy & I could not believe how visually beautiful the gameplay was. I was going to stick with the 1080p gaming monitor I had but after reading & watching videos on 1440p gaming monitors being the best gaming monitors for Xbox Series X/S, I decided to trade in my previous gaming monitor for this one & I am so glad I did. If you are a casual or hardcore gamer who wants a gaming monitor that is both visually beautiful while maintaining a high refresh rate (the refresh rate is something you should consider if you play a lot of FPS such as Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc) - this monitor is definitely worth it!!! P.S. This gaming monitor DOES work with the Xbox Series S. Just use the HDMI cable that came with the gaming monitor & hook it onto your Xbox console (refer to the photos)Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Dell has a winner here- January 15, 2021
Bought the S2721DGF to replace a LG 27GN850 I bought in-store. Playing on a Xbox One X , I wanted a monitor that allows 1440p resolution @120hz with Freesync enabled. The LG worked but doesn't allow Freesync to be turned on since it's range is capped at 100hz. The Dell uses the same exact Nano-IPS panel as the LG but has a higher range that allows Freesync to be turned on. I also like the Dells stand better as it's smaller and takes up less desk space plus has a hole for cable management. Image quality is spectacular and every game I have tried has looked great and ran buttery smooth. Plus you have Dells 3yr warranty included standard as opposed to LG's 1yr. Easily worth the $50 price difference in my opinion.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- This IPS display is a game changer- August 25, 2020
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 27” QHD 2560x1440 @165Hz IPS display is a huge upgrade over our gaming laptop’s built-in 1920x1080 @120Hz display. I used a USB-C 3.1 (Thunderbolt 3) to Display port cable to take advantage of the 165Hz refresh rate of this display. Using a HDMI connection will limit the refresh rate to 144Hz. The IPS display is bright, colorful and fast. It supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC Technology and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and it is VESA DisplayHDR 400-certifed. The anti-glare panel has a viewing angle of 178 degrees and can be tilted up 21 degrees or down 5 degrees. The display can rotate 90 degrees to the left or right, making a very tall portrait display. The stand can swivel 45 degrees to the left or right. The vertical height can be adjusted about 5 inches between full and compressed height. The power button is located along the bottom right edge. The On-Screen Display (OSD) joystick and four function buttons are located on the right rear of the display. The center rear of the display has the power connector, security lock slot, two HDMI 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, Audio line-out (3.5mm) jack, USB 3.0 upstream port and two USB 3.0 downstream ports. Two more easy to reach USB 3.0 downstream ports with 2 A fast charging and a headphone (3.5mm) jack are located along the bottom left edge. The monitor looks great with very thin bezels along the top and sides. The vents along the back for heat dispersal even look nice. I like the accent light on the back of the display, but it can be turned off using the On-Screen Display. The stand has a cable management hole to help reduce cable clutter. Dell includes a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, HDMI cable, USB cable and the power cable. We wanted a fast 2560x1440 gaming display and we are incredibly pleased with the Dell S2721DGF. What a huge upgrade to gaming setup.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
