Excellent game monitor

The colors after some adjustments (google color profile for S2716dg) are incredible. We're a long way from the TN panels we had just five years ago. The brightness is incredible. If you have never experienced 144hz, it is a total revolution. Even the destop feel MUCH more fluid. A well justified purchase if you spend a long time in front of your screen!

i got lied to

this monitor was advertised as having 144Hz at 1440p quality when I looked at my setting s and it said that this monitor was 1440p at only 60 Hz this really pised me off because the 60 Hz version of this is a lot cheaper so if I would have known I wouldn't of gotten this monitor but everything else is fine with the computer monitor.

Astonishing monitor

I have a background of not wanting to spend more than necessary on my electronics. I usually cheaped out on monitors. It's just a screen, right? Recently I wanted to go beyond 1080p screens for my software development work and got into 4k. It wasn't great for me, I didn't like having to use software scaling, which was inconsistent in Linux. I tried 1440p, but the first monitor I tried had horrible input lag. I couldn't click on things properly. I tried this monitor, splurging way beyond what I usually spend on monitors, but I'm blown away. It's so good. It has literally changed how happy I am to sit down and write some code. To me, this monitor is worth every penny. I'm considering getting a second.

Excellent for a TN Panel

This monitor really is the best TN panel I've ever seen. Picture quality is bright, sharp and extremely responsive thanks to the 144hz and g-sync tech. I had a dell ultrasharp IPS in the past and this monitor is very close in terms of picture quality. I'm really impressed by DELL monitors and their quality. You can't lose. I've learned to stay away from monitors from these 'gaming' companies. This provides a nice understated design and excellent performance.

Stuck Pixels

The quality and picture of the monitor are undoubtedly great, but the first time i opened the box there was a stuck pixel. I returned it and ordered another one, and there was another stuck pixel. Got frustrated and I am returning it for good and ordering another monitor brand.

Great Monitor BUT...

I've been looking for a gaming monitor with G-Sync and 144hz + 1440p. This monitor had it all and for a cheap prize. Gaming was awesome and speed was fast and smooth with G-sync. No problem at all. Then I started watching HD videos. On dark parts of videos I saw very bad color banding. It was awful and I spent hours with the setting to minimize the color banding. Google confirmed that lot of users have the same problem with this model. It is cheap for all the features but very bad color banding. If you don't care about color banding on videos, dark images, and video games then this is a great buy.

TN panel at its best

Its just been a day since I received this monitor and oh boy ! First impression is just WOW. The thin bezels alongwith amazing display quality, Gsync, 144Hz is a joy. But please make sure you calibrate the color, brightness etc since the colors are not that great when you receive it as from the factory. At the moment its 5/5 stars for me.

when on sale, it's an unbeatable deal for g-sync!

the one and only con i can say about this monitor is that its brightness/light level is not as relaxing as another DELL i recently bought (E2416HM). usually TN panels are super soothing for the eyes, but not this one. it's not as bad as some IPS panels i've had, but still. other than that, the 144hz refresh, flawless G-SYNC frames, 1440p resolution, 27" size, adjustable stand and subdued look, it's perfect! having g-sync, it even has ULMB, but games are so smooth when there's no tearing and lots of frames that i don't even use it after all. i do wish i had spent less money for a cheaper monitor though, lol

The Best monitor I have ever had

Pros: (1) G-Sync is not a gimmick, With G-Sync i am getting a stutter free picture...I immediately noticed the difference. You just enable G-Sync,and, there you more stuttering, shaking or tearing more messing around with nvidia or in-game settings... (2) 1ms Response time makes a ton of difference, Playing csgo, I went from 1-2 kills per round to 4-5 kills....There is an immensely improved competitive gameplay... (3) The resolution is just right, 2K is adequate for a 27-inch monitor. (4 )With G-Sync off, you have the option to turn ULMB will reduce the motion blur greatly...this feature works well with a 144hz monitor...with most games, You will never reach 144 fps ... therefore you can turn G-Sync off and then turn ULMB on....This gives you a superb picture...with extremely low motion blur. (5) With a 144hz monitor, you can get up to 144 fps'...which gives you a buttery smooth picture... Cons: None that i can think of.

bad tech support for monitor troubles

I gave this monitor a glowing review back in Nov of 2016. Five months later the monitor has a 15cm wide blue bar running from the top to bottom of the screen. Best buys won't exchange as it is over the time period to return it. Dell tech support is useless. I have had to speak to 4 different tech members even had to send pictures of the serial number and the picture trouble as they inform me they are having trouble finding that serial number in their database. Three phone calls and still no replacement monitor has been issued. If you are lucky and get a good one enjoy it for as long as you can. If you have issues with it...good luck is all I can say.

Good Monitor for Gaming but Look Elsewhere Otherwise

The monitor lacks a gamma control on the monitor's OSD. As such, you need to use Windows or Nvidia Control Panel to adjust for the bad out of box gamma. There are some ICC profiles online that you can utilize online for this purpose or you can manually calibrate it yourself. A bit of tinkering with the settings gets you a reasonable picture. If you're after better colour reproduction, go for an IPS panel. That's not to say the monitor looks bad, but it does not compare to an IPS monitor. If you want 144hz with G-Sync and minimal input latency then this is a good buy. The ergonomic stand is quite nice as well.

Excellent monitor

I was a little sceptical switching from a 24 inch 144Hz 1080p gaming monitor to this monitor. But after using this monitor , 1440p with G-sync amazing is compared to 1080. Colors were not a concern as there was little notable difference. The G-sync certainly is a main feature along with the larger screen area has made gaming a much more enjoyable experience once again!

Best monitor I've ever used

This thing is fantastic. It's TN but it LOOKS like IPS did five or six years ago. Sure, a modern IPS in this price range could beat it handily, but I just want to be clear- this display is very impressive for a TN panel. Viewing angles are surprisingly decent for TN although they are not as good as IPS. Colors are decent. Text is sharp. One thing- out of the box the gamma is terrible. I don't know what they were thinking when they designed it. You will need to adjust game in Nvidia control panel since there is no proper gamma control on the screen itself. I'm sure the G-Sync experience is just as good on any G-sync monitor but oh man... overwatch at 140FPS with so little input lag and such low response time. It's terrific. This monitor is FUN to use and I've never been able to say that about a monitor. No dead pixels or other issues on mine.

Just don't buy this monitor

Just don't buy this monitor

I liked it

I went from an old 22" ips monitor to that and it is exceptional. Small bezels , sharp ,amazing color reproduction (even for a tn panel ) , that amazing responsiveness and the fact that everything is so smooth makes the monitor one of the best I ever had. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who want the best monitor with resolution of 1440p, 144hz right now (Summer 2016) , even if it is to pricey. Money well spend :) The only thing that I didn't like that the screen is fingerprint magnet , that's something that my ips monitor didn't have. Also the second day that I had it I found a dead pixel even if I have done dead pixel test the day before it appears that you must check for dead pixels every day for the first 2 or 3 days . But I went back to the store and they replaced it immediately.
