Great Bang for the buck

Bought the Dell for performance as well as graphic abilities. The nvidia gtx 960 M and the intel I 7 6700 provide me with more than enough bang to allow me to do what I need to do without worry. I did not find issues with the right clicking that was mentioned in another review, nor did I find the fan noise to be an issue as fan noise was much louder in other laptops I have owned even though this dell has 2 fans. There is plenty of room in the hard drive for most everything needed, and an ssd may be something I need to invest in at a later date. However there are 3 usb3 ports which would allow for decent file transfer speed using an external drive. All in all, I am finding this to be a gem of a machine that doesn'"t break your bank to badly.

Great...but

This is a great laptop by the specs. I was happy for a month or so. The problem is something to do with windows 10 and the GPU drivers or maybe motherboard. The Laptop thinks the GPU is not installed. Solved the problem twice with a bios flash but third time it wouldn't work. Full restore didn't fix it. Spent 2 hours with dell support, gave them remote access. They had no solution Dell will repair or replace. Spending over a 1k on a pc it should work for longer than a month. Now I wont have a machine for at least two weeks.

Efficient and well worth the price

Pros I purchased this laptop just last week with the intention to not only play games but also get my regular office/school work done. I have no complaints about this laptop, it runs smoothly and the screen resolution is perfect for a 1080p laptop. Cons: It is rather heavy and every so often the fans make a loud noise when you are playing games but not a big problem for me at all

A Jet Plane with No Right Click

I bought this laptop thinking it was going to be fantastic, but sadly, I was wrong. First, the fan is insanely loud, even when idle. Secondly, right clicking is a nightmare. Whether is be using the button below the track pad or an external mouse, in order to right click, the button must be pressed many times in a rapid succession for it to register. I tried updating the drivers, but still have the same issue. But, if you can get around that, it's light and has a very nice, anti-glare screen.

Amazing gaming laptop performance for the price

Got this laptop online and was hoping the keyboard to be same as displayed on the website (ANSI layout). But it came in the ISO layout :( The performance is good and no complaints. I'll be adding an M.2 SSD at a later time. The screen is non-glossy which is a big +. No complaints yet. Only small issues are: - 5400rpm hard drive (the hard drive is a hybrid with 8GB flash cache which kind of compensates) - ISO keyboard layout (vs ANSI); takes some time getting used to It has an additional (1) slot for RAM and a (1) slot for an M.2 SSD. After quickly researching online, it seems that the M.2 slot only supports M.2 SATA; does not support M.2 PCIe (NVMe) drives. Will research further into the capabilities at a later time.

Garbage - Black screen and sleep/hibernate issues

I'm not sure if this is a bad batch delivery but I got two units that didn't work and had the same issues. Troubleshoot done with Dell and they weren't able to solve it. I also did my own and it is just problematic. Drivers are not supported from NVIDIA GTX for this model. I can't even finish a sentence before it turns black screen or sleep on me Get the HP that is near this spec, I replaced mine with it and no problems.

Quite a good gaming laptop for the value

This laptop provided good value for your money and perfect for me, I'm not a super serious gamer, but I do enjoy playing games that demand a little bit more RAM than a standard laptop might have and this one handles them without issue. So far I've encountered no issues and I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

A fair deal!

I bought this lptop because it has the hardware I need for CAD work at nearly 1/2 the price of a CAD workstation. Only complaint is the "F#" keys require using the "FN" key. Not sold on Win10 yet; -would rather Win7 Pro or Win8.1 Pro.

Pretty good...

Seems solid... not sure if windows 10 is to blame or what but am surprised that some operations are no faster in this machine than in my 2010 Toshiba laptop running windows 7. Would have expected better performance with the superior processor. Quick-time pro pretty much the same when editing. Think the green bar of death when trying to access movie files on my external hard-drive is a windows 10 issue. Really disappointing/limited mouse/track pad settings... again a windows 10 issue (according to Dell support). Never the less, am generally pleased with the machine itself. Love the matt screen and resolution. Battery seems good, cord plugs in nice and solid, track pad is responsive, although, don't like the fact that you can move the pointer right down to the edge of the track pad where the left click happens. Too easy to move the pointer when trying to click on something thus causing the pointer to move at the last minute... very frustrating and no setting to adjust this (unlike windows 7 which does seem to have an option for this in the track-pad settings) This, I think, is both a hardware and software issue. I wonder how I would like this PC if I were to downgrade to windows 7???

What is lacking

Great graphic card, but no vga output. If only there where 2 hdmi outputs ! but no. So this top performer can't display onto 2 external screens because of missing output. On top of that there is no dvd reader or burner. Good CPU. 8gb ssd buffer on hard drive is great. Great laptop with limited functionality

Great budget laptop

Handles video and audio editing well enough for the price. The gtx 960 card let's you run current games at medium/high quality. Is surprisingly portable for a dedicated gaming laptop, but you may have some difficulty lugging it back and forth between classes in college.

Best Budget Gaming Laptop!

This laptop comes with a Core i7-6700HQ processor and 8GB of RAM with a NVIDIA GTX 960M which is a powerful laptop gpu, doesn't get too hot when gaming(core temps are between 51°-60°). Is a nice package when it comes to video editing and rendering. Sound is perfect and the full hd screen gives you a good time watching movies.

Great PC

The Dell Inspiron 7559 runs great. It's fast, quiet on idle mode and has some pretty loud speakers. The keyboard feels great, the track pad is decent and it looks great. Also, this laptop can run games very well on it with good fps. Overall, this is a great pc and is a good choice if you're looking for a affordable, performance pc

The product was great but..

I needed help with price matching and although I thought that my attempt would never work and although I had one employee trying his best to not match the price, two employees working at the customer service was able to clear things up really quickly. I am not sure if I am allowed to mention their names, but for the sake of privacy I am not going to.

Good for the price

Very solid gaming laptop for the price. Screen is not the best but still does the job well. As far as power goes it can run most games on higher settings and manage nicely, can be easily upgraded as well. The lovely large fans keep the system relatively cool and are not too loud.

Excellent except plans

I bought this laptop today and everything works well. Although, it may sometimes be overheated but only happened when too msny apps run the same time. So far, everything works perfect and this laptop definiately worth the price. But I just feel the plan is worthless if you tske good care of your PC.

Absolute Truth about Dell Inspiron 15 7559

It has VRAM of 4GB GDDR5, which is better compared to ASUS ROG GL 552 with only 2 GB GDDR5. The storage drive comes with 2.5" SSHD from seagate 1TB plus 8GB flash. It took almost 40 sec to boot. I have upgraded it to Samsung 850 Pro SSD and it take exactly 8 sec to boot. (Make sure you used Samsung Magician software and set into Rapid Mode.) The system comes with 1 X 8 GB Ram, and if you can upgrade it to 16 GB (2 X 8 GB) that will be good. the main issue is to upgrade the storage drive with m2.SSD. Yes, the system comes with m2.SSD slot. But the question is, which m2.SSD, is it SATA III or the PCIe. I spend almost 2 days contacting 7 differents DELL customer supports and all of them says that it can support PCIe. But the truth is, they were wrong. Actually the system only can support SATA 3 because of their bios setting which not updated with PCIe. Theoretically, the system can support PCIe because the slot has only one notch (SAMSUNG 950 PRO 512 GB NVMe PCIe) and the m2 SSD Sata III has 2 notches) The only decent speed that m2SSD SATA III that can offer is SAMSUNG 850 Evo m2 SSD SATA III with 540 MB/s & 500 MB/s (Read and Write). Keyboard - beware of the 'CTRL' key, they tend to come out. But it just a easy fix. Bring it to Geek Squad. Screen - 5/5 Star quality Touchpad - 4/5 Star Quality Fan Noise - 23 dB - 28 dB Speaker - 4.5/5 Star

good gaming laptop

I have used this new laptop for several weeks, everything is so far so good. The speed of operating and system starting are fast. For most of the popular games,it can run them well under the very high or high/medium quality. The heat radiation is not bad. For little amounts of software, the win 10 system may not compatible. Overall,I think it is a good gaming laptop for this price.

Best budget gamer on the market

Mine has the 4K [Samsung] touchscreen and I upgraded to an M.2 SSD and Killer 1525 WIFI card and added an extra 8GB ram. I been playing DOOM 4 since launch and other than having to reduce the desktop resolution to 16x9 its eating up the game. The screen is fantastic although I dont use the touch screen I will probably pass this on to my wife as she loves to touch screens. The speakers are not all that loud but sound ok. I got a free pair of Skullcandy headphones with my Dell purchase so I will be using those for gaming. Everything is working great on the laptop and I would recommend this as it really should say ALIENWARE on it rather than DELL.

Great bang for your buck!

For everything under the hood, you cannot go wrong with this price point. The dual graphic cards is key to help with battery life, while still being able to function is a great gaming laptop. It is a bit on the heavier side, but not that heavy. A great black and red look. The keyboard is illuminated. No issues so far with the touchpad, and the screen is crystal clear. My only complaint is the lack of a removable battery, but that was not a deal breaker for me. Minimal software pre-installed by Dell (McAfee only I believe, along with dell support apps). Very happy with my purchase

Display

One of the best in the gaming laptops. The biggest problem is the display there are some white patches which make display fade day by day . I replaced my laptop 2 time and it had same problem. I think it is inbuilt fault. in the starting it is hard to find out these white fades. But after 10 or 20 days it will be worse and seen easily display will totally damaged.

Well Worth The Price

Frankly, I'm quite surprised at how fast this laptop really is. Windows load up in about 15 seconds after post bios/boot. PROS: - FAST! - Quality of image is outstanding - nVidia graphics card with 4Gig dedicated memory (THIS IS VITAL for good gaming) - Has 1TB hybrid Hard Drive which seriously improves speed (has 8 gig built-in SSD type caching) - Not heavy - has 3, USB 3 ports - if you have a 3D TV, connecting this via HDMI will provide full StereoScopic 3D. There is one thing to note though, for you avid gamers. The laptop (LT) as 2 graphics cards. An on-board Intel HD Graphics 520 as well as the advertised nVidia GTX 960M. Out of the box, the Intel HD card has priority. But this is easy to change. If you find a game not running as it should, go into nVidia Control Panel, Manage 3D settings. There are 2 tabs. Global, you could select the nVidia card as locked in so that all programs use it. Or, better, leave Global as Auto-Select on Program settings tab, add your game there (if not already listed - it's easy) and set it to only use the nVidia card. You can do that for any program. The reason for the dual cards, is that having most programs using the Intel HD (that don't need high-end GPU), is that the Intel HD card uses way less power. So battery life is extended greatly. I've tested by running 3 sessions of virtual worlds, which are graphics intensive. This LT didn't have any slowdown at all. Excellent! Great Laptop for a reasonable price.

Very good gaming laptop for the price.

After researching gaming laptops for about a month, this laptop was clearly the best option in my price range. There are more powerful laptops available but they all costed hundreds of dollars more, and some even cost thousands more. It can play Fallout 4 on low settings so that gives you a bit of an idea the maximum level of the laptops abilities gaming wise. My other uses of the laptop are internet surfing and video streaming, the laptop handles these tasks easily and can also handle 4K video streaming. The only thing I am a little disappointed in is Windows 10, hopefully it will improve over time. W10 just feels a bit unstable as a OS, so I highly suggest you create a recovery USB back up when you first get any computer running W10. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and I recommend buying this laptop if it fits statistically with your needs.

Excellent affordable gaming laptop

Bought this 2 weeks ago and I can run all the recent games such as Black Ops 3, Star Wars Battlefront, Dradon Age 3. Even has 2 Ram slots with only one occupied by a 8GB so I pimped it with another 8GB. I recommend it

Amazing and Worth It

- Amazing Design - 3 Fans: back, bottom and left side - Amazing graphics card - Decent enough ram - Amazing Anti glare - Last long when surfing the web, approximately 6 hours. - Good, but not the best speakers - A solid keyboard. - A nice big track pad, though can work on its responsiveness a little bit. Overall, this laptop is a solid one despite being a budget one.

Great computer, bulky package

My main issue with this computer is the look and the physical package. It is truly a gaming computer and is not sleek or compact. While about the same weight as many laptops in its class and not especially thick, this is still pretty heavy and is not a slim design. The power adapter is particularly big and bulky. The cover is also a softer plastic with a cheaper feel and tends to show fingerprints incredibly well (and they are hard remove). Otherwise though it is a great computer for the price. It run games and multitasks well and the speakers are capable of high volume with decent clarity. The display is not the best you will find, but certainly not the worst, and handles high definition without significant flaws. Long story short, if you want an affordable gaming rig and don't care about the look of the computer itself or that it is bulkier than some other designs, this is the machine for you. However, if you are looking for any kind compromise on a lightweight or portable design or a professional and/or sleek look you are best to keep looking.

Great Value for Price

Dell set out to make an affordable entry level gaming laptop and I think they hit the nail right on the head with this machine. Much more affordable than other gaming rigs, this machine will run today's games at 1080p at decent fps. Very decent GPU with dedicated memory, awesome display panel and just enough RAM out of the box to hit the ground running. Windows 10 may be the weak link here. If I had any complaints about my time spent with this machine it would be in regards to issues I have experienced which root caused to windows 10 bugs. Too bad many games require windows, or I would likely have put Ubuntu on this machine by now. Definitely recommend for those who want a portable machine that can also handle the latest games.

Best low budget gaming system

Personally, I like the build quality. Moreover, the trackpad is perfectly fine. It DOES NOT have any travel. However, the US versions do. The processor is quite powerful, expanded the memory to 16gig, running smooth until now. Yes, it does get a little hot at times but, that is only if you don't sit it flush on a smooth surface for ventilation. No other problems so far. This is a blessed laptop!
