- Not as advertisedReviewed by vidmanjohn - May 13, 2020
This product advertised as a Netgear router, but when it arrived, it is natively an access point and has to be connected to another router so that it can be programmed as a router. It is complicated process entailing having to be registered in order to log in to the device to deselect the check mark making it an access point and then it can become a router. The advertising should reflect that it is an access point that can be changed to a router. And once it is a router, then if (heaven forbid) it has to be reset to factory, then you would have to go through the process again.

- Do the job without issueReviewed by Cyril - February 23, 2020
This WAC124 works well. I have it for more than a week now, and so far nobody complained about having a bad wifi connection...It's not my first NETGEAR product but I don't have a lot of experience ever... You have the information you need to personalize the parameters of this device. The menu is easy to use. The only weird thing is when I let it choose the wifi channel with the automatic mode... Well, it seems that it is not able to find the less occupied channel. So I used an app to find it and put the channel I want to use... Not a big deal for me, but it can be boring for people who are living in buildings with plenty of wifi networks from the neighborhood and wants to be sure that this is going to do the job no matter what...

- Simple and reliableReviewed by Anonymous reviewer - February 15, 2020
I bought this AP as replacement for my old Cisco E2000 with DD-WRT. Yes, there's a huge generational gap between them and the 2.4/5Gb dual band/three SSIDs overcome my long time used router, but three years ago, trying to replace that router I had bought a WiFi extender (Netgear N600) of which I expected far more. Comparing WAC124 with that experience I found way better performance without silence peaks (streaming dropped, phone connected without internet signal) nor have any complains so far. This device can provide better setup than what I'm using now.

- Great product for standalone backhaulReviewed by Kun N - February 10, 2021
My use case is a bit special. I'm using this device as the backhaul of my wireless bridge. The 5GHz speed of this device is pretty fast comparing to other products on the market. I use it as a wireless bridge to connect to my main router and connect my other ap to its ethernet port. It is now like I am connecting to the main router directly and the wireless connection speed is not affected at all. I constantly get over 200Mbps for a single connection. One thing I noticed though is if I enable the vap function, wireless connection speed is affected. But I am using a separate AP anyway, so this is not a problem for me. Even vap is enabled, the connection speed is around 150Mbps which is also not bad in my opinion and I can save one device.

- Excellent Wireless Access PointReviewed by Aric Besselievre - September 12, 2019
Super happy with the decision to chose the NETGEAR Wireless Access Point (WAC124). Installation instructions were simple. Everything worked correctly right out the box. I was easily able to change and set up my network names and passcodes. The set up also allowed me to instantly register the product. The performance and speed are great. Its connected to a 100ft Cat6 cable so I am impressed we get high speeds with no packet loss. Wireless and ethernet work equally well. Highly recommend if you need to extend your internet's coverage area.
