Great for maintenance

Love the vacuum. It does a great job cleaning and I can't believe how much it picks up every time it works. The only problem I have is that when it tries to find it's home (charging station), it's hit and miss if it will actually find it. I would love to see Dyson add a bit of intelligence on the return to home functionality. I would even like to see it communicate with the Dyson server to help it plan a route back to the base instead of just aimlessly looking for it.

Mediocre Vacuum Robot

Had this machine since 2016 July. As a previous iRobot 880 owner, I find the 360 Eye does not clean nor navigate any better. Also due to its height, the robot aren't able to go under many furniture. The only thing I like about this machine is that it's not made in China. Similar review was submitted to Dyson's official website, but it has never been posted, perhaps they pick and choose what kind of review they would like displaying on their website?

Dyson 360 Eye Robot Vacuum

I have had My Dyson 360 eye for about a month now and I am very satisfied. I am writing this review to help others looking to buy a robot vacuum. This is a new product and I found mix reviews and lack thereof. After my first charge and use I could see some of the frustrations with the early reviews. After installing the latest software update the vacuum has two cleaning modes Max and Quite. This has dramdicly improved its run time and battery life. With any robot vacuum or standard vacuum less obstacles leads to a better and more efficient clean. I have a very open floor plan that I believe complemts this vacuum it does a great job coving over 1000 sqft on one charge. The second floor of my home has more obstacles and is more compartmentalized. The vacuum performed well in this tougher environment. It did a good job navigating between rooms and finishing anything it missed if it had to charge before completion. This vacuum cleans in a methodical pattern, cleaning better then previous robot vacuums I have had. Upon all my research prior to making my decision on the Dyson 360 eye there’s a lot of disputes about its overall height. I found that the 360 eye fit under everything my other robot vacuum did and in fact because it is narrower it fit in other places the other robot vacuum didn’t. The only area it has some difficulty with is the recessed area under by kitchen cupboards. The height of the vacuum means it has a harder time cleaning here. There are some features like a spot clean that I would like to see them add in the future software updates. The hardware is solid like all Dyson products. The overall cleaning quality is high on hardwood, tile and carpet floor types. I run this product one sometimes twice a day handling anything my two children under 4 create. I would like to add it dose a remarkable job with pet hair. I have a long and short haired dog as well as two cats. When it comes to crumbs and pet hair the Dyson 360 eye has made life a little easier allowing me spend a little more time with the family. This is a new to market product so like anything that is the latest and greatest the price tag is the hardest to swallow. Saying that I think it is worth the money but would like to see it come down in price for us consumers. I hope this was helpful and informative.

Garbage

I was very excited to get this as I love my Dyson stick vac but this product is useless. I have a large shag area rug in my living room that is secured in place under a sectional sofa. The Dyson just continually goes to it, gets confused and uses up its run time circling the same spot. I am not willing to move the whole sectional and giant heavy carpet just to have this thing run, for the price of it I would actually prefer to have the carpet vacuumed!!

Very disappointing

My husband purchased the Dyson 360 eye and had very high expectations since we own a few Dyson products. He was expecting the same with the new Robot vacuum. He initially had difficulties with the Wi-Fi. Took him many tries to get the vacuum to connect. He then started the vacuum to proceed with cleaning. The Dyson had immense problems with obstacles such as our dining room. It does not fit underneath the kitchen cabinets. This is where the vacuum is needed the most. It kept turning in circles not knowing where it should go. We then requested it to go back to the base and it did not even know how to get back. It kept going in circles in front of the base. We ended up returning it and getting the Roomba 980 instead. Dyson needs to go back to the drawing board for this unit. It is not worth the money we paid for it.

Very pleased no regrets

I was hesitant to order the 360 eye because of the negative reviews about the app. I did more research and decided to order it. I am very pleased that I did. First I want to give 5 stars to best buy for their two day fre shipping. I actually received it in just one day. At this time of year that is particularly impressive. Now the dyson 360 eye. I give it 4 stars. Only because I believe the set up process /app could be improved. I was able to set it up ok but there are a number of steps and this would be better if streamlined. After I ensured that I had it linked to the 2.4 GHz network it connected first try. If you have a higher GHz network it will start the set up but won't complete it and won't tell you why. The manual does make this clear and this is one product you do want to read the manual for. I suspect this is the cause of most set up headaches. Since set up it has worked great and cleans great. It took 24 hours before it auto updated the software. Don't know why the delay because it was fully charged and on the dock but regardless it did update it automatically. My hardwood floors looked clean with no bits and dust and yet it found lots. VERY impressive. It never lost connectivity over the three days and returned to the dock by itself. It's not as noisy as I expected even on max power and quieter than other vacumns. Another key point is that it needs good light to navigat and this too may be a reason for some negative reviews if people haven't read the manual.

Thankfully bestbuy Allowed return of product. Several error messages. Owned product for 7 days and had to cal tech support x3. Hopeful for next generation. Bought neato botvac. Awsome vacum

Amazing 1st generation robot vacuum

Not a bad vacuum cleaner for a 1st generation product. The fact that you can just leave it to run and it will do its thing is a massive time saver. We named ours "Morris". The main problems with this vacuum cleaner has to do with it being the very first robot vacuum made by Dyson. It's made for "early adopters" like me who want to be on the very cutting edge and don't mind the flaws in it as much, because for me it's about being able to run autonomously. Here are the problems: - The Dyson Link app has many issues. Just getting it to sync with the robot is painful to set up and once set up, it often can't find the robot. I've ended up in a situation where I keep getting notifications on my cellphone due to endless loop issues. The App also only works on phone - the tablet version is a zoomed version that looks hokey. Dyson needs to work on the app and software better. This is the worst part of the experience. - The battery life is quite short and the charge time is quite long. If you have a large area, the robot will vacuum for 45 minutes, go back to the base station, charge and then automatically keep going. The problem is that this takes a *very long time* and you can screw up its operation by "interrupting" its charge to clean the canister. It's better to break down a large open concept space into smaller areas or rooms and go room by room. - The canister fills up very quickly. Often within a single run (45 minutes) it will fill its canister. You generally don't want to just let this thing run on a large area by itself because its canister would be full after the initial run, so as mentioned above you're better "hacking" its routine by simply running it in a single room at a time. - Surprisingly gets stuck on small things. You have to be careful about what you leave on the floor. E.g. I had a book on the floor. The 360 Eye got one track stuck on it. :( Overall though, I use my 360 Eye quite a bit and like it. As mentioned, I think this product is for early adopters. So if you have high expectations, you should wait for a 2nd generation when Dyson has fixed all its problems.

Sucks well but not stamina

I work in technology, understand networks, wifi and application really well. The reason I'm spelling that out is because this darn machine wont connect to my WiFi. I've tried everything from stripping WiFi down to basics, no authentication, just simple WiFi connection and the eye will not connect to it. There is no way to see any logs of why it wont connect, I just get a pop up on my phone that says it wont connect. Obviously this company is still trying to understand technology because making the tech stupid simple makes it hard to troubleshoot what is going wrong when something does go wrong. I've spent a few hours on this.... ya no fun. If I cant figure it out not sure how anyone else is going to figure it out. I have one more test to do before I return it and thats trying to get an iPhone instead of an android to do the connection to WiFi and/or connect it to my neighbors. Kinda strange ask of neighbor but we will see. The WiFi isnt the only issue. I've ran it manually 3 times now. 2 times ive came home and its just sitting in middle of floor dead. 1 time I came home and it was on the pad but I didnt notice it wasnt charging (missed the pad) so it died right away when I tried to start it. Maybe im doing something wrong on the actual application by starting it manually but I cant tell whats going on because I cant connect it to the WiFi and see its battery life or anything for that matter! Just totally frustrating paying over 1.3k for a product that just plain doesnt work like its suppose to I'm a bit fed up with it, right now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It does suck well though, like really well, picks up good amount of dirt off the ground even though it looks clean.

Below average AI performance.

Great suction it's pretty much that these robot vacuum delivers. Probably coolest looking Design how ever it does not work well in a room with one to many obstacles. I would recommended in a room that has little obstacles. Sometimes it wonder around with out actually vacuuming anything also WI FI looses connection a lot. Not really good for my type of room.

Too high

Looks like they thought of lots of great features but made it to high to go under most of my furniture where dust bunnies live so that's not worth my money.
