Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest for Nintendo 3DS presents a continuation of the Fire Emblem series, in which a pair of kingdoms are teetering on the brink of war. On one side is the family who raised you. On the other is your blood line. In Conquest, you fight alongside the former, in an effort to bring change from within.

A game with extremely unoriginal, poorly written, tropes of characters. Not a single character is written like the games of old, most characters being tropes and nothing more than that. The protagonist of the game is a naive, borderline idiotic character that no matter what he/she does, is praised and loved, and learns nothing. The plot is as generic and boring as it gets, with clichéd twists, awful story, and terrible map designs. Gameplay is fine, however the weapon balancing system is abysmal, making what should be good weapons useless, for having penalties so bad that it's not even a 'risk vs. reward' situation, you will never, ever want to be using it. I give it a 2 stars, only because I can't give 1.5 stars. Decently enjoyable gameplay, bad map design, bad weapons system, bad characters, and terrible story. Hopefully future games in this series can become what they used to be.
