Inaccurate Heart Rate

Every thing works well except when monitoring heart rate during high intensity workouts. Like other reviewers said, sometimes it will be off by 40 to 50 beats. If you wear it for step tracking or mild workout, it's a good device.

I am enjoying my Fitbit Charge 2 but today....less than a month from purchase, today it completely shut down. I charged it for 3hours..nothing. Help!

  • from Toronto, ON

Bad at measuring heart rate

I love my original charge fitbit (despite the problem with the defective band) but I picked up a Charge 2 because I figured the heart rate monitor would be a great addition. I loved the tracking capabilities of the Charge 2 WHEN IT WORKED! However, the heart rate was constantly detecting either nothing (--) or a rate that was wildly incorrect by anywhere between 40 bps when not active (sitting on the couch watching tv) and 60 bps when active (running on the treadmill). I tried all the options to try to get it to read properly and nothing worked. It was simply not worth the money if the heart rate tracker wouldn't track properly. On top of that the sleep tracking was not intuitive enough to not count steps while sleeping. Leading to anywhere from 1000 to 6000 steps counted while I was asleep. Horrible!

Great Motivator

The Charge 2 is a great motivator and I really like the concept but the overall design is poor. The Charge 2 is thick with a sharp edge therefore it is constantly getting caught in the sleeve of my jacket and the cuff on my shirt. The band is very light duty and broke the first week when it caught while putting on my jacket. If you sit in an office all day and on the couch at night then the Charge 2 is for you. Fitbit needs to build a model for active people and for people who live in a climate where long sleeve shirts and coats are required.

Works pretty good

Got it for chirstmas, seem pretty accurate, use Samsung gear to cheat heart rate and two blood pressure monitor to check pulse and it's between + - 5 beats. The sleep tracking also works fine, scanning items with the barcode scanner also works well. It's a pretty deep if you look into it, you can configure what to show in the watch and in what order, I wish it has more info in the watch itself, the touch screen is a tap and I find the Samsung gear more elegant and swiping is more intuitive. Anyway like anything one should use this as another tool in getting fit, one should not really on this as the full answer. In the end the more you get to learn about this equipment and your lifestyle one should use all the knowledge gleen from all the source to hopefully make changes in eating, exercising and have a long and wonderful life.

Fitbit Charge 2

Nice Watch and the App helps keep you motivated, unfortunately, it is very frustrating to use when there is any sunlight. I hate the fact that I cannot quickly check my steps and heart rate or the time for that matter as the display is not bright enough in the sun. Great indoor and at night.

  • from Seaforth

Fitbit lacking

I have only had it for two weeks and haven't figured what all the info means yet, but found it doesn't track my sleep patterns accurately. I like that it reminds me to move and records my steps.

wrong calorie calculation for walking/ hiking

As a rule of thumb a male @ 220 lbs will burn about 75 calories per km, the charge 2 fitbit calculates this burn at 150 calories. Very bad if you use the fitbit meal tracking against what the charge 2 fitbit claims you are burning. You may think you should lose weight but will gain it if you walk lots and consume 75% of what you burn

  • from Calgary, AB

a step tracker at best

The fitbit charge 2 does not read heart rate correctly, it reads my heart rate in the cardio range when I walk, also the calorie burn is way off. I've been relying on the calorie burn from this device to determine my calorie intake, so I burn over 4,000 a day as per this device and log in 2,000 or less intake, but as per my fitbit scale i gain 1.5 lbs per week. My wife's fitbit reads my heart rate the same. Seems you need to calc calorie burn manually based on you weight, type of exercises and duration. Funny, the Microsoft Band was way more accurate but Microsoft limited fore sight toasted the product rather than move the battery from the strap to the device...

Fitbit charge 2 will not sync

Had the Garmin and made the mistake of exchange it for this and for the last 2 days been trying to sync it. Tried resetting it and no matter what I tried still unable to sync it. Extremely frustrating..going to get the Garmin back as it had way more features and sync easily. Not impressed.

Not fit!

Was given a Fitbit Charge 2 for Fathers Day. Does not keep accurate 'sleep' mode. And, I've had many back-and-forth with Fitbit reps on what I may do to resolve this. And, the bpm accuracy doesn't seem to be accurate. But, it does keep time accurately. Although I didn't buy it for a watch!

Fitbit Charger 2 not living up to its hype

Sleep tracker does not work for me. I've tried all the 'fixes' suggested by Fitbit. Over a 2 week period it tracked as little as 45 minutes sleep to 5.5 hours sleep. I was told by Fitbit that if I move in my sleep too much it won't track accurately. Don't most people move while sleeping? So, I don't bother wearing it to bed to track my sleep any longer. I mainly use it as a watch and it seems to track steps fairly accurately. I got this Fitbit Charger 2 as a fathers day gift. Too bad for me it hasn't lived up to its potential.

Good quality fitness tracker

This is my second Fitbit. I really like their quality and functionality. The text display on the tracker is a nice feature as well as the hourly reminders to get up and move! I would recommend this product.

  • from Hamilton, ON

Problematic and disappointing

Went through two of these in a week. Best Buy was great and gave me all the support they could and FitBit spent over 6 hours trying to help me get the trackers going. The first never was able to sync with either Android or Windows 10 platforms. The second was able to run on my Android for four days then could no longer sync. I just gave up as the product would not work on any Windows 10 computer and would not perform with reliability on my Android smart phone even though it was listed as being compatible and the operating systems were up to date. Check on-line forums to see what issues people are dealing with and if they affect you before buying.

Fitbit charge 2 is great

I really like it it works well. Keeps me motivated to move more!! Recommend it to anyone !!

Silent Alert does NOT Work

This watch is beautiful and works exceedingly well, but if you need an alarm, you'll have to use your mobile phone. I need the alarm, so I may be taking back a second watch. The vibration can hardly be felt even when you are looking at the watch -- not good. So hard to rate this as it is 5 star if you don't need awn alert and 1 star if you do

Don't waste your money

If you want an EXERCISE device this is not for you. Every time I get on the treadmill it loses my pulse. Pretty useles

  • from Ottawa, On

Replace the b with sh

My wife purchase this for me to monitor my heart rate after heart surgery. I have to say it works great, as long as I am not exercising. Once I get on the treadmill it under represents my heart rate by between 10 and 50%. That is when it is actually tracking my heart rate at all. (two horizontal bars where the heart rate should be) If I could give this POS a ZERO start rating I would. This is a novelty item. The "mood ring" of exercise monitors. Don't waste you money if you want something to track you exercise.

Fitbit Charge 2

Just purchased the Charge 2 a month ago. It is a great device and I'm enjoying it. All features are great. But I only wish it was waterproof to track my swimming Otherwise I'm very happy with it.

  • from Niagara Falls, ON

Good quality and reliable for all the data.

My husband bought for me last year for Christmas and it's so good. It's complicated a little bit but when you open your mind and try to learning then you will find out a lot more about your self and your activities per day and per month you will do.

Good Concept But Not Very Useful

I like the concept but is not a great fitness tracker. Monitors HR accurately for low intensity exercises but for moderate and high intensity exercises my Polar HR Monitor does a much better job. There is as much as 50% difference between the two. Great device for getting inactive people mobile but if you are looking for a good fitness tracker the Fitbit is not it. After using my Fitbit for a month, I have gone back to my Polar HR Monitor,

  • from Red Deer, AB

Pleased with purchase.

My wife and I purchased chg 2 trackers a month ago. Set up was easy. Loving all features, step display, HR, sleep tracker, consumption, etc, etc and how they are broken down with additional charts. Appreciate how data appears on all our other electronic devices. We have been moderately increasing our goals successfully. It looks like this will be a devise that we will be able to utilize on an on going basis. Doesn't tabulate stairs accurately or steps when carrying things tightly in your arms. Not really a problem but if a slight design tweak could correct that it would be helpful.

  • from Mississauga, ON

Almost perfect

Had the Previous version (Charge) screen looks sharp, not as big as some of the other devices, but just large enough, comfortable, and amazing battery life, also improved bracelet clasp (lower profile now) On sale is a great buy

  • from Saint Catharines, ON

Does the job

I am upgrading from the "Charge" and find the display with a choice of clock displays much improved. Battery life seems to be longer with a better charging connection.

  • from Ajax, ON

Great product

Works as advertised. This is my first fit bit and I love it. Totally made the right choice. Great for my runs and tracking my overall fitness. Very happy with it.

  • from Toronto, ON

Love it - it has so many features and keeps me on track.

  • from Roxboro, QC

Vibration? Seriously?

A very good looking and comfortable band. The only problem is the vibration - unlike the Fitbit Charge, the Fitbit Charge 2 has a virtually non-existent vibration. It is a super slight buzz, and you will miss it 95% of the time unless you're concentrating on your wrist. For some reason they've downgraded the vibration motor. There is no way to increase it through software.

  • from Winnipeg, MB

It's lived up to all expectations so far. I like how I'm able to track a bunch of health related data like heart rate, activity, sleep, food and water relatively easily and all in one app with the single device. Obviously you can't go swimming with it or shower with it on as it's an electronic device that isn't designed for that, but so far it's performed well with sweat and heat, as I've worn it in a dry sauna. Would recommend for anyone looking for a fitness tracker/watch combo that isn't as bulky as the larger version, but still has a decent interactive display.

  • from Toronto, ON

Excellent fitness tracker

Does everything you would expect it to do. Does a great job tracking steps and has a very accurate heart rate sensor. Very impressed with FitBit customer service as well. I accidentally scratched the screen 3 days after getting it and they sent me a free replacement in a brand new retail box. They said the replacement would take 5-7 days to arrive but it arrived the next day. Quite satisfied overall.

  • from Lloydminster

It's great! It motivates me to do exercise and other activities like shovelling. I love how it tracks different types of exercise and the stop watch is very handy. It also displays calls and texts which is really handy. The previous review is ridiculous and should be deleted. You are not supposed to wear it in the shower.

  • from Barrie, ON

Simple yet functional

I upgraded from the Charge HR and love having notifications from calls and facebook messenger. I also like seeing my heart rate and steps on the same screen. No need to keep flipping through the screen as often.

  • from Woodbridge, ON

Works really well

It's simple and does what it's supposed to do. I like how you get a little preview of incoming text messages. It's NOT waterproof and it clearly tells you that. The wrist band is much more comfortable than the first model they came out with.

  • from Windsor

Much better than Charge 1

Read the instructions. Didn't wear in shower. Yet anyways : ) Works better than Charge 1. Continuous heart rate is a plus and the battery life is still comparable. Love the ability to change bands. Bought a steel one (non-fitbit brand) online and it interchanges easily. Sleep works better than Charge 1 too, but with sleep apnea it still doesn't always read correctly. Love the new "tour" features that simulate routes for finding stuff. A neat addition I didn't think I would enjoy. Last 5 days on full charge as advertised. 1-2 hour charge time from empty as noted. I tossed my Charge 1 because the band kept coming unglued. Fitbit sent me a replacement free, but it happened again. This model is built much better and doesn't look to have a peel point. So far I am very happy.

  • from Saskatoon, SK

Connects via Bluetooth quickly. I love all of the features included with the Charge 2. Band fits a bit bigger than the past Charge HR band. Love that the band's are interchangeable.

Don't Buy If Using With Windows 10 App

If you intend to sync this watch with a home desktop or laptop instead of a phone, don't waste your money. It will not do necessary firmware updates well. After downloading the Windows 10 and PC apps (tried both after reading one of hundreds of "fix it" blogs on this product), you'll quit. If you do purchase it, keep all the cute plastic wrapping and nice box it comes it because you'll need to reconstruct it to return it.

Bought this as a gift they loved it and it's features

it sucks

its the worst because I forgot it on my hand and went in the shower and only a little water went on it and it broke

Fitbit charge 2

I have had the Fitbit charge 2 for almost 2 weeks. I like the face and how you can select the display. The tracking of my sleep pattern is very informative. There are features that I have not used, but I find the tracking of activity helpful and informative. I like the Fitbit app and how the information is displayed.

  • from Calgary, AB

The Fitbit Charge 2 is Awesome! It has exceeded my expectations. I wear it 24/7 so I can also track my activity while I am at work. However, my work involves spending a lot of time driving from job site to job site and unfortunately the time spent in my vehicle is also being tracked and taken into account. So, the only major complaint I have is that the Fitbit Charge 2 does not have a setting to account for such an activity as driving or riding in a vehicle especially since this is a major everyday activity for a large number of people.

  • from Toronto, ON

Awesome fitness tracker with HR and notifications

I've had the Fitbit Charge 2 for 3 weeks now, looks good and works great. Really like the following: - Heart Rate tracking: other reviews criticize it's accuracy but bottom line it knows when I'm resting and relatively how active my workouts are - Step accuracy: not as good as Fitbit One out of the box, BUT after paired with phone GPS it automatically calculated my stride from then on - GPS compatibility: not built in but doesn't need to be if you carry your phone, and having a map of your run or hike afterwards on your mobile device is cool - Nofifications: text, calls, calendar alerts from phone plus reminders to move every hour - bonus It's not an Apple Watch, but then it's much cheaper and I'm more comfortable wearing the Charge 2 in the gym, working out, etc.

  • from Maple Ridge, BC

A nice upgrade over the original Charge HR

All round a better device - especially the bigger display, longer battery live and it more comfortable to wear 24/7.

  • from Waterloo, ON

Very good product, high ease of use

After using the FitBit Charge HR for a while, this is definitely a very nice upgrade for the small price difference. It's a very easy product to use and the text message/call notifications are very useful. The notifications to move to get your goal of 250 steps per hour is good too. I've tested the HR monitor against a real electrocardiogram and it is fairly accurate. Also very lightweight and comfortable. Been using it for a few weeks now and I don't have any concerns.

  • from Gatineau, QC

Had the Charge HR, this is an awesome upgrade, Love the fact that it can now map my bike rides with the connected GPS.

  • from Ottawa, ON

Good Product, enjoying it

I would rate the Fitbit charge 2 as a 4 out of 5 , because there haven’t been many problems with it but sometimes I think it counts more steps that were actually taken. It is easy to use and comfortable, took maybe 10 minutes to figure it out and get through the section on the tracker where it tells you how to use your new Fitbit.

  • from Markham

Amazing product!

This is the perfect device. It supplies all of the features I wanted and is not nearly as big as the Surge or Blaze. Very happy and the battery life is exceptable

  • from Trenton

Battery Issue

I have the Charge HR and now the battery only last a few hours before it dies. There is no way to change the battery and the customer support solution is to buy a new one.

  • from Grimsby

Tech is still not ready, great apps, bad hardware

The apps are great, the hardware is still not accurate at all. 1. Steps are inaccurate 2. Heart rate monitor is useless unless you are not doing anything, never even remotely close to accurate during any exercise, usually 40% lower on fitbit then other trackers. 3. Does not connect with Apple health app
