- Good coffee with crema- May 21, 2021
I have used reg coffee beans and it does a great job. I would have bought nespresso if I could use my own beans. Crema is about 2ml so not bad for reg coffee beans .Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

- Good product if it fits your needs- August 20, 2021
PSA: This is meant to be an ESPRESSO maker, not a coffee maker. It (only) takes Nespresso (Original Line), Dolce Gusto, and espresso grounds (basically finely ground coffee). It does NOT take k-cups, it does NOT take Tassimo, it does NOT take Nespresso Vertuo pods. Be aware that Dolce Gusto is DISCONTINUED in Canada. You can find pods online but they are expensive ($1+ or serving). Nespresso pods are more popular and can be found in grocery stores. The machine itself is pretty well built and the manual is clear. The unit comes with 3 adapters: espresso, Nespresso, and Dolce gusto. Espresso: The portafilter is pressurised and 51mm in diameter. The unit comes with a plastic temper which isn't great but if you're picky about espresso this machine probably isn't for you. The default setting gives you a choice between 60ml shot or 120ml shot. These are manually adjustable which is a big plus in my opinion. Nespresso: The adapters for the pods work fine (at least for official pods; I haven't tried 3rd party pods so your experience might vary) and produce excellent drinks. Dolce gusto: I haven't tried DG pods since as I mentioned above, they are discontinued and expensive. I will update in the future if I can. Cons: The espresso adapter isn't that easy to clean and didn't come with a dosing funnel so it can get messy trying to fill the basket. The drip tray is a bit small for my taste since I don't always use espresso cups/mugs. It is also a bit flimsy in the upper position. Make sure the hooks are actually engaged or it will fall off. The water container is actually 600ml, not 700ml like advertised. Not really a con I guess just make sure you fill it before making drinks. If you drink 600ml of espresso in one sitting you might want to buy life insurance. Other notes: This machine seems to be an exact replica of the HiBrew system. There are more adapters available though I am not certain if they are compatible. I will update this review once I try them. Final thoughts: Well built machine that makes decent drinks. If you're really into espresso then perhaps consider more dedicated units. Nespresso pods have reasonable quality and variety, if you aren't too concerned about the environment (or pod costs).Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
